British steam trains at full speed! 2013 - 2015

- So as the steam season here in the Southwest comes to yet another close, I've decided to change the format and instead give you a compilation of all my best shots of British Steam locomotives at full speed across the UK network, as collected over the past 3 years between 2013 and 2015. We've got all manner of classes in all manner of locations, including climbing and descending Shap Bank in Cumbria, racing across the flats of the South Devon Mainline, and negotiating the turns of the magnificent Sea Wall between Dawlish and Teignmouth.
Classes range from a myriad of engines, including LMS Jubilee 45699 'Galatea', BR Standard 7 70000 'Britannia', LNER A4 Pacific's 60009 'Union of South Africa' and 4464 'Bittern', GWR Castle 5029 'Nunney Castle', and my personal favoruite, rebuilt LNER A1 Pacific 60163 'Tornado'! Power from all of the former pre-nationalisation companies, as well as the regions of British Railways are turned out and perform what they do best, going and speed!
Apologies for some of the inconsistent sound and video quality in some shots, I changed camera's during this period.
Enjoy! - Авто/Мото
I personally love the fact that the british know how to run steam trains and are not afraid to do it. so many of these beautiful engines sit in museums, cold and lifeless. to see a steam train in all its glory is a real thing of beauty. long may they ever live in steam.
"Hurry, hurry, hurry" said Gordon. 😁😁😁
Haha 😄
1:11 The "May we have your attention please" being drowned out by the thundering of Galatea is just hilarious to me.
I Live in Spain and so I don't get to see steam trains still running.Good old Britain still keeps these beauties alive. Thanks so much

WOW!!!! Those British steam trains are Fast. I Love that whistle sound by the way. thanks.
A new Speed Record!!!
Truly nifty - but all these videos forget is that people like me watch to see and hear the steam engine - NOT the carriages flash by .. follow the steam engine!
I am an Indian and right from my childhood days.in India old trains are discarded and in few hilly stations they are run. I satisfy my love for steam trains by watching these videos on trains and I should honestly admit that they are excellent
I’m an American but I also love the British locomotives!🇺🇸🇬🇧

Wonderful arent they, I also love some old Yankee locomotives with the ghostly sounding whistle! Amazing! 🤯

Hi, just watched your latest upload and as usual it's brilliant and we'll thought out, but just thinking of the effort you must put in for 14 mins of film, whatever the time it takes I am hooked. Many Thanks
Thanks for these wonderful clips.
How can ANYBODY who makes the effort to come here, not be enthralled by the spectacle of these beauties, and then click the "Thumbs Down"??? 112 pathetic twits to date. Unbelievable.
And - OH - those beautiful A4s. Nothing else quite like them, for me!
Great compilation

Only thing better than steam at speed is steam at speed in the snow!!
Cracking stuff, many thanks..
For some reason I used to think Steam Trains couldn't run on electrified lines cause they'd ruin the wires.
Super captures Rory it was a pleasure to watch. Well done, and Thanks for sharing
Great compilation. Just the thing on these short dark days.
That Scot at 3:27.....Wow what a racket.
You cannot beat the classic livery.

Loveley footage of the whole train great
That’s when golden fleeces whistle was on tornado from 2015
Is`nt it nice to know....people are still in love with `steam`? Great compilation,by the way.
La belleza de estas magníficas locomotoras de vapor es incomparable. Son bonitas y encima son realmente rápidas. Muy buen video por cierto.

some of them machines are gonny be getting their telegram from the Queen soon , an they are still flying along , great stuff , am old enough ti remember steam trains runnin when they ran , lying in bed hearing them come an fly by an disappear into the night again , aye !
Wonderful wonderful video. Would have been nice to know the names of the locos. Such power, a fantastic era I feel privileged to have lived through. Many many thanks for showing this video. Also uninterrupted by irritating pop up adds. Congratulations.👍👍👍👍👍👍
Wonderful
This is emotional . There alive
Very very nice capture bro
I love steam. The best trains. And then even beside the sea. 👍👍👍👍👍
It something to be proud of.
Please read the first sentence as right from my childhood days I am crazy about steam trains
I have a few questions if it's okay:
1. Where's the Flying Scotsman?
2. What is the point of the diesel at the end?
3. How come Mallard isn't allowed for rail service anymore?
I can only answer the last 2 questions:
1) the diesel at the end is used as power supply for the coaches and as possible emergency braking
2) Mallards boiler has "expired", so they can't use it to make her run. To do that it needs to be replaced
Dang that man said hell give me the high ball an a high gear Gus's we out of here Great video 👍👍👍👍
Long live British steam!
That green locomotive 4464 Bittern is a thing of beauty. Some of the more modern locomotives are so awfully ugly it makes your eyes hurt :)
David..4464 Bittern Is in The Garter Blue Livery of the LNER.
Thats Bitterns sibling, union of south africa
As a Brit returned from the us comparing British steam to us is like comparing a Morris minor to a dodge Dart. Tiny tim
Steam locomotive engine Piston Movement is very Beautiful to me and Whistle sound is unique.
Old but worthy and powerful engine
Great captures! A small tip...zoom out fully as the train closes in to get the full effect of the speed.
I can hear golden eagles whistle on tornado 4:49
beautiful
One of the peculiarities of welded track it that you can hear the impact of the driving wheels on the rails.
I'm a native American-English speaker, but speak Mexican-Spanish daily. If you please, sir. How about a little audio refresher? Like starting the video with a little throat-clearing ? Followed by a proper British accent on the sound for some of us who could benefit from the audio practice, more properly get into the genuine spirit of the British steam train experience and fully participate in your excellent video. Maybe the whistle sound on another video, if you think it too much? Gracias. Desde Colonia Centro Histórico, Puebla, México, DerRobMann sends... envía...
Les trains Formule 1 !!! La course du rail , C'est adorable !!! On dirait que ça repose l'esprit !!! A vous en dire ! Le Flirt du train ! Bonjour de FRANCE le 05/04/18 Merci !!!!!!

Muy buenos videos saludos desde Argentina
'Tangmere' as shown in 1 or 2 shots I have seen before at Aschurch for Tewkesbury station. Does anyone know about Tangmere going on a rail tour?
oh heavens, you'd have old great western footplate men fainting at the sight of a bullied ahead of one of their beloved Swindon products.
I'd take a king or a Castle any day.
Shit I bet even the British steam trains run better than Amtrak
Everything runs better than amtrak!
Carl i can run better than amtrak
Carl one of those IN THE 1940'S did 126 MPH!
Carl how about the Pacific?
actually mallard did 125.88/126 in 1938
get your facts right
