Totally agree on the point about people being able to enjoy things casually. I hate how pretentious everyone's gotten, from books, to art, to movies... it excludes a lot of people and makes them feel bad or stupid for liking something that's not considered "cultured" or "literary."
when I heard you say "people can enjoy things casually" I immediately hit the subscribe button. It feels like people on the internet forgot about that and it's refreshing to find someone who thinks like that!
You should consider taking the train to Hudson NY one weekend. You can walk from train station to town. Stay in an Air bnb. They have terrific and inspiring shops, architecture, and food! An old and charming and artsy Hudson River town.
My favorite character to draw inspiration from is Ugly Betty. I love the crazy patterns and how her style evolves 😭 I rewatched it and literally screen shot so many images.
@@michaeladickson i dont understand why are they watching than? I love how you talk and being creative. And you sound like you have a head on your shoulders. And you are funny in the best way 🤗💕
Career museum professional here to affirm your Met visits. 1) Any museum staff worth their salt LOVES casual visitors/enjoyers just as much as an expert or super-frequent visitors. 2) There are lots of art museums (and other kinds of museums) all over the country - not just big cities! One great place to start is any university, college, or community college near you - soooo many of them have galleries (and I have never heard of one that required a student/staff ID for entrance - that's contrary to what museums are all about). If they don't have a gallery or other kind of museum, there's probably art in the hallways of their major buildings like the libraries. Stroll around! Usually some cool architecture too. 3) It costs an inconceivably large amount of money to run the Met, and I cannot imagine they do not need donations, but that's not really any of our problems and your $20 or not is not going to make a huge difference - stand firm in what you can pay because ACCESS MATTERS. If later you find a $5 in your pocket and you had a good visit, pop it in the box on the way out. This advice goes for most of the huge art museums, but it's even more true for the smaller ones that don't have name recognition and globally famous galas and a zillion influencers taking photos there every day.
I also love those colour story/palette from film (usually for the main caracters) or for room décor or even flower arrangement. Si if you google Marie Antoinette (film) colour palette you will see the colours used in the film for her (her private appartement, her dresses) I think it help to style a colourful peaces together with different combination, or recreate a mood without having specific clothing pieces, it also help if you have a colourful waredrobe and want to try different way to style accessories etc.
Great video. I love people watching and see what other people wear. I also love looking at color combinations....I am often the crazy lady in some bright color mix and yes I own it! I live in Western Colorado, the side of the state without the crowds and will wear a colorful combination to have my outdoor fun, hiking, skiing or just exploring the backcountry in the jeep. I also grew up before the internet so my early self loved magazines. Oh and yes it is so ok to enjoy stuff without being an expert. I hate when I see people leave snarkey comments......they deserve to be kicked out. And last......it is ok to indulge the fantasy self just so long as it is not out of control.
We love a fashion queen with boundaries!
🥹🫶🏻 thanks bestie!!
One of my favorite places to get inspiration from is movies. You can always take away something from the wardrobe department.

That just reminded me of something I heard recently. “there is nothing that says you have to be good at your hobbies”. And honestly, love that energy.
