Hi all. Mario Aparicio here. I am their teacher!! Ready For Geddy is from Archie Williams High School in San Anselmo, CA. Super happy you are giving them the recognition they deserve. This was for a Performance Workshop class concert back in December. I am a student at the high school where this performance took place, and also a member of the music class. This band is truly amazing and the musicians are all awesome people. They deserve all the recognition they've been getting. I'm lucky to be in a class with musicians like these!
At 16 I would have screwed up Every Rose Has It's Thorns if I had tried to play it in front of the school. I got over that, but at that age I would have bombed
Holy shit they’re all killer. The guitar kid is ssssssoooooo talented. I think he was just nervous and full of adrenaline and constantly bringing himself back down and then getting an adrenaline rush again, over and over. I get that way when I’m nervous with anything. Not just guitar. When he gets some experience and calmer, he will slay the competition. Wow. They’re all so good, the drummer, bassist, singer, all of them.
I’m totally late to commenting but I’m the girlfriend of the main guitarist and a friend of the singer and they were both nervous and actually killed it you can hear me screaming in the beginning haha. This is for a class at our school which is even crazier then a talent show.Y’all so awesome thank you for the love!
Yeah I’m sure after multiple times touring the world to that point in his career, and in 1987 after Master of Puppets -where they blew Ozzy off the stage every night - that he couldn’t pull this off at all.
You guys aren't getting it. Here opens up the song at between 160-170bpm with 16th notes. Watch the lead guitarists right hand. The only time he isn't down picking every note is during the solo.
As a fellow student of the Archie Williams High School Music class, everyone in this band are such amazing people and an inspiration for me. watching these kids play at such a skillful level and getting internet recognition is incredible and truly deserving of them. y'all are amazing!!!
The bassist is a stand out for sure. I am pretty sure Ellefson uses a pick, so playing finger style is really cool and his licks added a lot to the song
I think you’re spot on… mistakes are part of live music, and it’s not really whether you make a mistake or not, it’s what you do next that counts and this band nailed it. To be fair of course it’s harsh even calling them mistakes, minor wobbles in a tough track that we all know inside and out (to listen to, most of us can’t play it!) because it’s so iconic.
Yes, and that's NOT a good thing. The 90s were 30 fookin' years ago. These kids weren't even close to being born. You're NOT supposed to look and act like your parents and grandparents in the Rock-n-Roll world, much less Metal. Zoomers are simply devoid of creativity and originality. "Never trust anyone over 30", remember?
It’s ridiculous. Most high school bands have maybe 1 talented kid. Mayybe 2. But for them all be this good? It’s almost unbelievable. I wonder how big their school is. It was almost impossible for my high school band to just find a drummer at all 😂
Bassist playing fingerstyle like a fucking boss! I do the same thing on this one, but I've been playing bass since January 2001. While this guy probably has a couple years under his belt. I am very impressed!

Ehh..the singer is shite, period!
