Just broke down and bought my first large Schmincke set... I'm in love. I have a hard time putting the paint brush down. Sorry Windsor & Newton, there's new paints in town and there's not enough room for two in these parts...
The paints Schmincke are so great. You can just touch them with the brush and they just come alive. Worth the price i think. And they have some beautiful colours.
I am in Love too❤️❤️.I have also😁 Schmincke offers a nearly overwhelming selection of colors from muted to bright, very light to very saturated, and very transparent to very opaque.Love this palette❤️❤️😘😘.Very Informative video.Thank you Jaan😘.
Thanks for the video! I you were to recommend one set of 24/36 (I’ve found both brands online in the same price) - would it be Rembrandt or Schmincke? 😊
@@adriannamarszal Schmincke looks little muted so it's great for landscape artists. 36 is better as you can play around and know whats your taste and finalise your palette
Very surprised they stay so moist. You probably I’ve in a humid climate? Surprised you called the Mamganese viollet hopeless when it’s a granulating colour that is supposed to look like that. Some people like me adore it for special effects, and Schmincke have even released a special range of super granulating colours. Love the little sketch you made, and the mixing swatches. ;)
Thanks i appreciate it 😊 True that i live in India and its hot and very humid so colors stay fresh. Manganese violent is the weakest in the entire box..and i call it hopeless coz it doesn't suit my style of painting...it may be your favorite if it serves your purpose right?
@@niazhannanwatercolors Thank you so much for the quick response! So climate seems to affect the consistency of watercolours quite a lot then. My Schmincke stay bone dry , even when it's hot in summer, but it's generally not humid where I live. The only watercolours that stay relatively moist are the Sennelier, and not even they stay that gooey unless I'm using them. Ah yes, I understand you! I used to hate granulation, but I've been discoveing it and experimenting with Manganese violet, Potter's pink and French Ultramarine. I still like the control the smooth texture of most Schmincke watercolours. They are my go-to watercolours for most of my work. But granulation seems to be growing on my lately. :D
This is not a review only a swatch of a Schmincke watercolor set. No talking and only annoying music in the background. Too bad because the title of this video suggests otherwise.

After seeing your reviews I've decided to go for Daniel smith and schmincke 🙌 could you please recommend 2-3 best schmincke ones that granulate?
Thank you!!
Deep Sea, Glacier, Galaxy, Forest, Tundra, Volcano, Shire & Desert from Schmincke Horadam have the most granulation
Such beautiful colors! Now I want these, too.
Get them asap!!!
I had a hard time unwrapping mine... they look like expensive candies in their meticulously folded individual wrappers. LOL

Gorgeous
Thank you!!
This video made me buy 24 Full-Pan Set. It really did.
Wow thats awesome 👌
One question. Did you use any watercolor medium in this video?
@@smdstr Watercolor medium?!
So you didn't use any. That's even more impressive. BTW, Watercolor Mediums are Ox Gall, Gum Arabic, or that kind of stuff.
@@smdstr I guess we don't have the need to use them..its just water, color, paper and brushes
hmm... I actually found the manganese violet to be the prettiest.
Its subjective
Could you recommend one between DS and Schmincke for urban sketching?
That's a very difficult question as its aboutpersonalpreference..but if I've to answer then DS is 0.01% better
@@niazhannanwatercolors thank u for your reply, then I will have to the DS!
Great choice 👌
Beautiful made video, shows the colors well, to decide to buy or not, thanks very much
Thank you😊 go for it Schmincke is the best i believe
@@niazhannanwatercolors appreciate your advice, I have other brands and was curious. But very expensive. But will surely get it. Thanks again:))

Schmincke without a doubt

Sorry for the typos, I’m so bad at typing on a screen. It should read ‘…you live in …’ and ‘manganese violet’.
