Very unusual. The documentation mustn’t be strong enough because over age 55 the “grid rules” typically benefit you. Just having a history of cancer is not enough because you need something currently impacting you that can be medically shown.
I think it needs to be redone or cancelled and civilians should get something similar to tsp or Vanguard that can be passed down to someone you choose whenever you want or when you die. This is also involuntarily taken out of your checks and they invest it without your consent and take whatever’s leftover once you pass. This isn’t right at all and it’s inconsistent.
The problem with hiring an attorney is they will drag it out to get a larger percentage on your back pay. Unfortunately if i get denied i will have to hire one
How can they drag it out? They make the doctor prolong an appointment or lose documents or something? What can a lawyer do or what power do they really have to slow the Ssa down? You’ll likely get denied if you don’t submit paperwork in a timely matter and it’s up to DDS or ALJ to make a decision.
I have fibromyalgia, and this autumn I've been so sick that i barely get myself to the toilet (no bucket time yet, luckily). When i was in a meeting two or three days ago there was close to an hour of just the same sentences over and over. They want me out in a job, and I'd love to. But it doesn't work that way. All it was, were someone going "rehabilitation so you can go out into a job" before that it was "no way without a diagnosis", I've already done all their stuff. So for some reason I'm sent through more rounds at won't work. I just get more sick when they threaten my ability to pay bills.
How do they expect people who are in ssi disability to survive?!! I understand it is not for comfort or luxury but with inflation since the 1950s it does not compute can we please advocate to raise disability benefits . Over 98 percent of applicants are legit the application process is brutal it’s very hard to play the system you need doctor proof that you can’t work any job at all . I know people who have no legs no arms or are blind or cancer who still get benefits. Please advocate for the disabled ! And let them live with dignity and have food and enough for housing electricity clothes !!
Get an Attorney for your SSDI!! With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome it’s Very Very Difficult to prove!!! It was well worth the $6,500 that came out of my BACKPAY.
I was just denied at almost 60. It is getting harder for me to get around and I also have a history of cancer.

“I take my dog out for a walk every day” SSI: “oh so she can walk and take care of an animal? She can be a dog walker. DENIED!”
I'm blind and confined to a wheelchair so what do you do all day nothing, denied
I’ve never had an attorney willing to help until at least initial denial
I feel like we should be able to sue the SSA
You can
@@catpancakies1259Can you really see them?

Can you give me advice when do I start the filing
After my 12 months of medical evidence
Or during the 12 months
Now..today
With an attorney it still took over 4 years to finally get benefits.
Nothing worth getting is to be easy. I’m sad u had to wait that long honestly but I’m also glad you’re approved!!!!!!
