One thing to note about Lampent hanging out at hospitals is that it is actually shown in Twilight Wings episode 6, the one that focuses on Allister helping out one of the main characters (Tommy) to make up with his friend (John) who was in a hospital. Tommy told Allister that after the fight he had with John, he wasn't able to apologize because the next time he came to visit him at the hospital, he was already discharged. The fact that there was a Lampent outside the hospital led to fan speculations that John wasn't probably discharged. He didn't make it. (There are also speculations that Allister is a ghost given his ability to seemingly teleport, and him hanging out at a cemetery, but that's neither here nor there.) However, the series did end with John finally being able to attend a championship match to watch his idol Leon live. So maybe the Allister-focused episode was just creepy for the sake of being creepy.
I remember when people just crapped all over this Pokemon because "It's just a chandelier." While ignoring the cool and creepy design/Pokedex entries. Plus, with great stats, I'm glad to see people coming together to really appreciate this entire line. 👍🏻

fr ? I was like 10 when it came out and I was obsessed with this whole evolution line ! I just never used it because by the time I'd find any of the evolution line i was already too attached to my 6 pokemons so i never actually use it lmao
This is one of my favourite Pokemon lines!! I usually am not fond of an entire evolutionary line like this one, but every single stage is unique and lovely in its own way. It also made me happy Trip trained both this and Frillish (also another very terrifying Ghost type Pokemon). The Litwick Mansion episode is SO GOOD, too. There's a Resort Desert episode in the current (Journeys) series, too, where a man has a Litwick whose flame keeps growing bigger and brighter and all I can think is, poor sucker.
Lampent is not a grim reaper... is way worst... a grim reaper will take you to the underworld. Lampent will wait your death and then burn your soul to use as a fuel for his flame. This mean if you became a pray of a Lampent, there is just oblivion for you, that is way worst then death or underworld. That mean you will no exist anymore. -Litwick-can only absorb life energy and in the worst case scenario can kill because drained all life energy of the prey and use as fuel -Lampent-cannot drain anything, but go hunt for lost souls or wait so someone to die to then burn the soul and use it as a fuel -Chandelure-can just rip off your soul from the body without need to wait for your death and burn the soul as fuel
I am talking seriously, i know it's Just a franchise, but why the heck GF has such ideas; damn it's something beyond horrifying to think, a soul getting lost forever...
I remember there was an episode of Mushi Shi where there were little mushi that looked like flames but didn’t give off heat, they absorbed it and drained the people that tried to warm themselves with it. Must have been based on the same thing that inspired Litwick.
Baby baby baby they babies. I theorize you could feed it meat as a spirit substitute. Technically any food was once alive but meat is more directly linked to life, "blood as life force".
Gives me PTSD , in the minecraft poxelmon mod the mansion had a lot if litwicks . and they were hella aggressive . they chased me around just all forming a line and I couldn't run I kept getting fired into wild battles and had to kill lole 30 of them to escape .. I only had like 3 level 20 pokemon cuz it was early game . those darn freaking candles lmao . I love em great mons indeed
I usually like object Pokémon but Chandelures line might be the best of the objects, an actual growth of the object relating to real world history, (candle to lantern to the chandelier) but the blue flame, that when shiny turns red, as it turns into an actual candle and etc. it’s never been too overpowered, and it’s always been somewhat balanced. It’s a simple object taken with great care in the design, not to mention the spooky lore it has.
I believe it also depends on how much life force you have to obtain a litwick if you isolate it like in the fire type gym there is a good probability it will grow to like you but we see in anime the more of them around the dangerous it is. I believe you have to have one when it's a Litwick understand your gauge of life energy and etc Edit: Honestly quite a few people have Chandelure in their teams in Canon I think the *regardless of how kind your trainer is* might try to be a warning for kids to not have this mon since everything else is Canon after all these are 10 year Olds writing out Dex entries so there might be cautionary tales to not have one for a reason or if a trainer makes a mistake and tries to burn you, you could always send it back in its pokeball til it calms down. Because if the Dex is true and isn't taken for grains of salt NO ONE WOULD WANT THIS! Ingo, Melva, some random trainers, and Shauntel
Wow, nostalgic to see the Hyakki-Poké-Yako artwork… I was actually in Japan on an exchange the year that they were running that, and naturally visited the Pokemon Centre in Tokyo while I was there. It was so cool to see all of the Pokémon dressed up in their Haori and gathering for a night parade…
Despite it being creepy and all that I still like this Pokemon no matter what the Dexs say and this is actually one of my favorite type combinations and has been pretty useful it has grown to be one of my favorite Pokemon I remember having a shiny chandelier card but I don't remember what happened to it
Chandelure and Trevenent are my favorite ghost types. For some reason, I can't decide between one or the other, but they are surprisingly similar, and originated from some of my favorite games.
Amazing video! Ever since my first play through of my first ever Pokémon game (White 2) Chandelure has and always will be my all time favorite Pokémon. And a shiny form that utilizes ORANGE flames?!? Just makes an amazing Pokémon an absolutely incredible one!🕯🔥
Lampent is my favorite pokemon, it's so cute...but deceptively creepy At least the most morally good out of the evo line, just waits for death instead of actively trying to drain souls like chandelure and litwick
