The royal Anglian(Vikings) regiment where in the camp next door to our regiment in Colchester In 1989 I knew a couple of them great lads great soldiers great Regiment
I've been attached on ops as medical staff to PARA Reg, Light Infantry (pre Rifles) and the Vikings. Can honestly say the Vikings were hand down the best to work with. Attached C (Essex) Company on Herrick 6 in 2007. Welcomed, not treated as an outsider and valued for skills and expertise.
I’m definitely joining this regiment when I’m old enough although I’m Australian I want to move to England very soon I’m saving up. My Nanna was from Suffolk so this makes me very patriotic
As a long time former Canadian solider I’m embarrassed to say I’d never heard of this regiment. Then I came across a RUclips video of them parading through Norwich. Their marching and arms drill was the best I’ve ever seen. The takeaway was that these guys are well trained professional soldiers.
@@Jamie_Ncl hello i’m from the west midlands/ west bromwich area but i know it’s primarily an Eastern regiment but will i still be able to join it or do i have to choose my local county ?
@@mason1621 You will still be able to join anyone can join any infantry regiment ad long ad you are loyal to that regiment and give your best.. its was my forst choice ad I lived in Norwich but they ended up telling me to go Rifles Regiment as I'm originally from Newcastle so I did but I could have still went with Royal Anglians if I wanted
@@mason1621 No no, you can go to whichever regiment you want.. if Royal Anglians is your number 1 choice you can stick woth that, it doesn't matter where you're from.

You're meant to be patriotic to your country of birth, not your grandmother's country of birth.
@@coxnballs I am don’t worry, if someone makes fun of us I tell em of.
@@horatiohornblower4123 If you say so.
@@coxnballsDon’t think really matters if he’s patriotic to both countries if he’s got family in both. They’re both commonwealth countries after all.

Have to say as a former Poacher, 2nd Battalion is definitely the best. Other battalion’s are available 😂😂😂😂😂
I knew a few Poachers
Lots of talk about family . If I were 18 again ide go for the greatest military unit in the world . The Parachute Regiment.
