This is great information! Because I'm new to Junk Journaling and don't have a printer right now, I am having my downloaded images printed at Office Depot. The colors and images come out beautifully and the staff is quick & helpful at the location I use. But it is expensive, compared to printing at home. If I decide to stick with JJ and buy a printer it will be so helpful to have all the info you gave us here! Thank you!

I would like to hear more about the settings on the computer for printing images. I sometimes buy digital downloads and the color is no where near what is on my screen but other printables are perfect. Is there a certain setting to change on those downloads that seem dull or where the color is off. I have a inkjet printer and it works wonderfully. I have never had trouble with the ink but clean it often and print quite often. Thanks for the information. I like a firmer paper for my tags and those items I don't fold. Canon has a matte photo paper 45 lb. that I use for my tags and Office Depot a 32 lb. presentation paper if I need something a little stronger than just printer paper. Thanks again for your time. I love your digitals and would like to have them all.

Sometimes you need to calibrate your monitor & printer. Here is some info I found about that. www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/printing/how-make-printer-colours-match-display-3684910/

    • @lauraheard1676

Hi, I just wanted to add one thing from a designer perspective. Sometimes yes, the printed color may be slightly off not just because of the monitor, but because the person who design itself didn't do it the right way. I've noticed some digital download sellers on etsy sell the printables in RGB color format. RGB color is for screen color (meaning: what you see on desktop/tablet/mobile phone), meanwhile CMYK color format is for print color (meaning: physical printed product like printed on paper/banner/poster etc.) and this is what the buyers actually want. For example, the truest black for RGB color is 0% red, 0% green, 0% blue. As for CMYK, it's 0% cyan, 0% magenta, 0% yellow, 100% black(K). If you see it on the screen, the RGB black is the blackest while CMYK black is a tad bit greyish, not a total black. However, when it is printed, CMYK black is the richest black. So you'll see the difference between the two when it's on screen and when it's printed. Be sure to check with the seller first if it's designed in CMYK or RGB color format. Some sellers just have no clue about this stuff, I guess, as I don't think they are actually designer. I don't mean to say bad things about them, but most of them just ignore this fact or they never bother to learn about some basic design knowledge. This kind of thing really bothers me at times as they don't try to think from customer's perspective. Or at least try to print it out themselves and see first if it turns out right.

Thank you for great information. I was sent by Miss Paintalot. I’m trying to print a harlequin pattern to decoupage on wood. I like using printed scrapbook paper, but impossible to find the pattern, right now. I printed some on copy paper and it’s ok, but wrinkles almost like a napkin, so a pain as I want a slick surface.. I’d like to print on whatever weight the paper I buy in Hobby Lobby is. Can you help?

Can you tell me, please, have you any problems with ink prints after a while? I mean after a year or longer? I'm asking because I printed some photos few years back and I can see how they look now (faded colors) 😒 how to avoid it? Any advice? I would like to sell my jj and I'm afraid of it.

Do you do through a lot of ink with digital downloads? I am in the market for a new printer and I am thinking about one of the Ecotank printers. I see several people who sell digital downloads use them and they say it saves them money. I would like your opinion or anyone else who has used one.

@@myporchprints-junkjournalt5340 Thank you for your reply. I have never printed off many digital images but I am loving the junk journals and all the pretty digital kits so I know I will be doing a lot of printing so I am trying to not spend a ton of money replacing ink cartridges.

I have to contradict your "why we don't like inkjet - expensive ink". It depends! I have an Epson Ecotank inkjet printer, and 1: ink isn't expensive at all - 2: the ink goes a loooong way! I've had my Ecotank for 2 years and have just refilled the black. The other colors are still half full. So if you love inkjet printers, go for an Epson ecotank!

Hi I really enjoyed your video I found it really helpful. I have the same print that you have I have a question to ask since you know more about digital printing or you probably have been doing it long then I have. Anyways when I print black backgrounds and hat do you recommend? Cause I bought digital Halloween paper on Etsy the print it black background with orange gold bats can you help. Cause the black comes out like dull and the paper absorbes a lot of the black. Thanks I would really appreciate it 😊

Bought a brand new printer specifically for crafts. It specified it could print on all types of paper like card stock and vellum. The stupid printer jammed. So I pulled out my 15 year old Canon and it can print on anything you can fit in it. 😐
    That new printer is useless.
