I did weeks and weeks of research and testing when deciding on what fine art printer was right for me and my printing needs, and I'm sharing that entire process and all that gathered research with you today. Hopefully it'll save you a bunch of time and efforts! For example, what size prints will you be making? What is your budget? I'll walk you through how to answer these questions that will guide you to your next step.
I'll also explain what wide format and large format printers are. This is important when figuring out which size printer will work best for your specific needs.
Lastly, I'll show you the final decision I made for the best printer for my fine art prints at home. I'll discuss two of the top art printers on the market and what similarities and differences they have. We'll deep dive into Epson vs Canon, and we'll do a breakdown of the Epson P700 vs the Canon Pro-300. GIRL LOVE your Channel Buuuuuuut not all "office" printers are created equally. I just purchased a Ricoh MP C6004ex Color Laser Print scan Copier with a finisher and when I tell you it is gold it is PURE gold. If you are going to continue to invest in your are (and duh of course you are) I HIGHLY recommend you check out what Ricoh has to offer. Very Very VERY nice prints. And it will print up to 180# I make my business cards, my product cards, boxes etc

Thanks for the video, super helpful 👍do you know roughly how many prints you would get of your test print (17:40) from a set of ink cartridges.. I understand some colours would run out quicker but just trying to get a rough idea of how cost effective the Pro300 is?

What size print is the most common one requested/best selling? Thanks, good video.
Hey! Good question. It really depends on what kind of art you make and your pricing for the prints. I know some artists that their best selling are smaller sizes like 5x7” or 8x10”. For me, my best selling has been larger sizes like my 16x20” or 18x24”. I think it’s also because a lot of artists whose best selling sizes are smaller, paint their originals small so it matches. I think my best selling sizes are larger because my original paintings are quite large. This is actually why I just bought a bigger printer than the one in this video where I can print larger prints from home! (Video coming soon) lol hope this helps!
Silly question does you that 13 inch printer also let you change sizes to smaller prints or just specifically for the 13inch size? Thanks great info and video.
You can print anything 13” or smaller! So I use this printer for my 8.5x11” prints, 5x7” prints, 13x19” prints, and more. You can also input custom sizes as long as the width is under 13”!

How often do you print and how often do you have to switch the ink?

Why you don't talk about Dpi or Resolution of those printers ?? Quality is always master's ...
How do you get a maybe 3/4” to 1/2” white border around the print. I usually sell my artwork already framed. But now after watching this I would like to know how you ship your prints…with a frame or not with a white border around the print, flat in an envelope or round in a tube. If you could answer these questions I would appreciate it so much. I see you did this video awhile ago, do you still stand by the printer you picked out.

you'll have to check the specifications for your specific printer! Each printer is different - you should be able to google your printer's specs though!

Definitely! i just fear it will be no longer aviable in ink due to being 8 years old, is the prograf pro 300, released 3 years ago maybe better? I dont need to use A2 format from pro 1000.
Matte black from pro 300, 9 colors seems to give off more saturation
Pro 1000, 11 colors has blue and grey, i do not know if that makes up a big difference.
Pro 309 tank are smaller but cheaper, costly in the long term, but im not one to daily use a pro 1000 that will waste apparently more ink to clean.
I do not know, tough, if the pro 300 does consume the same or less, and still shows efficency in the long term using less ink to clean herself....

What printer would suggest for a crater who makes greeting cards, I will be printing out digital papers to print out for my greeting cards, the papers will have bright colors?
I wouldn’t worry about getting a large format for greeting cards! An 11” max art printer would work fine and my top brand recommendations are Canon and Epson but there are definitely others that would also do a great job. Also, Red River Paper has a greeting card sample paper pack that would be perfect for you. It’s only $13 and includes 6 different types of papers and envelopes! Hope this helps! ✨
@@ARTXSUN well, I have a series of craft book manuscripts, I want to also use the printer for book making, I also have several images I created for my other brand that would require large space for me to print out images of that brand etc, I also need the colors of the printer to be quite vivid because I will be printing out digital colorful card stock papers.
@@creatingwhimsy7561that sounds awesome! Yeah, if you’re looking for a wide format, I definitely recommend the canon pro-300. I love that printer and the colors are excellent. The color quality and saturation highly depend on the paper type too. Different paper types absorb the ink differently.
