There is: chicagoloopbridges.com/schedule.html In the spring, the sailboats come up the south branch, going into the main branch, and then going to the lake. In the fall it is opposite of the spring sailboat route where they go from the lake and down south the south branch of the Chicago river.
So I finally got to see this bridge in action. Weirdly enough, the lights all went off fine but the bells didn't come to life until the bridge was fully raised.
What’s with all the pedestrians trying to beat the bridge? They’re getting caught on the wrong side of the barrier. I get it, everyone is in a hurry but really?
Keep in mind the top layer of this bridge is L trackage, and they kept the bridge down with gates closed long enough for a train to pass (you hear it at 2:20). Rising the bridge is coordinated/cleared with CTA, so they could spare enough time to let those first few folks through.
There is A Pre Announcement beforehand, about 10-20 seconds before the lights are activated. Many people still disregard that, or They wear headphones not listening
stop light: stop! people: still runs across bridge. stop light: STOP!! people: still running across bridge. stop light: STOP!!!!!!!!! people: still running across bridge. stop light: S-T-O-P!!!!! people: still running across bridge. stop light: you'll learn a lesson today! people: gets thrown into space by drawbridge 😂
Cool! The stop sign is great!
Thanks they’re my favorite
they gotta do something with those people running the pedestrian gate, anyways, cool lights saying stop and nice bell
Thank you, they should Do something about it
There is a Pre Announcement 10-30 seconds beforehand for Pedestrians and Cars, But Many dont listen, and indeed disregard the Warning Signal.
The lights flash very slow. Great video!
Thanks!
The Bridge Videos Are All 👍 👌 👍 Great!!
Thank you!! 😊
The ending was perfect

Nice, you lift the bridges?
Traffic and pedestrians be like are u kidding me
Heh heh and the Lake (the bridge signal) Keeps holding his gate out trying to start pedestrians from crossing
Nice video
Thanks
Where is the western bell installed? Let me guess, the bridge
Yes the bridge signal
1:26 Ped gate be like: Put me DOWN!!!!!!!
Lol 😂, Lake (the bridge signal) finally has enough and drops the gate on their head and/or yeets the Pedestrians away with the gate
Is there much of a schedule for when these are lifted? I know they're done during the sailboat season.

Yep that’s correct

Nice at least the bells were working again, do you have a video of it and if so, are you going to upload it?
@@flandox6659 I can't say. I just upload when I can.
Yes can’t wait!

WCH Mechanical bells, high pitched bells, don’t know the model of the bell, but I will do a video of it in spring
@@flandox6659 thx btw I railfan in glenview hit me up when u wanna film

Damn, so many joggers.
Yep
Type 0555 "CNW Gong" Bell
They are the same WRRS bell except this one was designed to be mounted on a railroad crossing/drawbridge signal
@@flandox6659 I know

IKR, usually these bridge lifts take about 5-10 minutes to complete
Wow people just walking a crossed the bridge. 90% of the people don’t even know the guy waits to raise the bridge
Exactly
I would scream running if I was on the bridge when the gates started lowering before I knew about the operator.
Yeah same I would be running off the bridge at least the pedestrian gate on the other side of the bridge isn’t the metal caged ones
What pedestrians need is some discipline!
Yep
