Kashmir may be the greatest riff of all time. It has this epic otherworldly feel.
I could hear this riff all Day...
I just heard Kashmir for the first time really-knocked me out-heard an Itallian guitarist that blew it away-this player was cool to listen to, what an exciting invention on 6 strings
that's probably because the guitar is tuned in Indian DADGAD tuning, not standard tuning. Incredible sound.
Top 5 for sure the best from led zep 100% my favourite one
BBC post that Whole Lotta Love is the greatest riff of all time
Has no one ever heard of "Over the Hills and Far Away"? That song has some good riffs in it.
Trent Stines one of my all time fave Zep songs
my favorite LZ song
Trent Stines love that song man
Yep. The How the West was Won version is brilliant.
One of the best songs. Especially in live version of How the west was Won
My favourites:
1: Black Dog
2: Heartbreaker
3: Dazed And Confused
4: Immigrant Song
5: Moby Dick
6: Whole Lotta Love
7: Kashmir
8: The Ocean
9: Communication Breakdown
10: Rock And Roll
Ned Duffy I Love Moby dick, probably my favorite Zeppelin song
i like the Poor Tom instrumental
Black Dog is a close first if not first to me. Thank you for recognizing its glory.
The rover
Ned D. Heartbreaker was the first true song I learned on guitar and it will always have a special place in my heart
this needs to be like a top 30 list theres so many good Zeppelin riffs...
You know you've listened to too much Zeppelin when you can hear the ahahahhhhhhhah in the riff
[Twig] Runn3r108 Same
True that
[Twig] Runn3r108 you can never listen to too much zeppelin
Blitz Twig i know that feel bruh.
Blitz Twig immigrant song
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Jimmy is the king of rock
But Jimi is too
BroMotion I went to like this realized I unliked it and then re liked it
no love for tony iommi
My 3 great inspirations to pick up guitar Jimmy, Jimi and James.
I thought King of Rock was Elvis
I agree, he is my favorite guitarist
The Lemon Song riff will always have a special place in my heart
Yes! I learned that song on bass and it's so fun to play and listen to
The Rover has to be one of Jimmy’s most underrated riffs
Agreed, Physical Graffiti is filled with juicy riffs like that (Custard Pie, Houses of the Holy, Wanton Song, and Sick Again to name a few). I honestly think Kashmir is one of the weaker tracks on that album
stolen by greta van fleet
I was thinking exactly the same. Underrated song.
@@yuleki2373 It is literally the same as the highway tune. Greta stole the riff like it was money
@@yuleki2373 how many songs did Zeppelin steal though? Honestly
Jimmy page is a riff machine!
Zeppelin stole most of "their" riffs. Tony Iommi and James Hetfield are the riff kings
@@ghosttrigger5871 well they stole good riffs
@@ghosttrigger5871 Hardly. More of their songs may be covers than people realize, but just because Spirit had a couple semi similar sounding cords, that doesn't mean Zeppelin stole most of their riffs.
@0 0 They weren't credited, sometimes, sure. But not all the time did it require someone to be credited. Especially when the original song at the base is a folk song, not owned by anyone.
Hashirama Senju Yelp me one mainstream riff he stole?
There's this song called dazed and confused...
goddamn right
Lothar's Happy Sunshine Channel They stole dazed and confused tho, one of the few songs they actually stole.
Ratchet Going Commando maybe seeing as its subjective and what not he didn’t thing it was top 10.
Sir Turd exactly lol
That ones a cover
0:11 the ocean
0:42 communication breakdown
1:07 rock and roll
1:25 black dog
1:59 heartbreaker
2:19 immigrant song
2:38 whole lotta love
3:08 bring it on home
3:33 moby dick
4:01 kashmir
4:33 Dazed And Confused
Thanks for the spoiler
Sam Carroll RUclips pro tip: Never check the comments before you have watched the video to avoid spoilers 👍
@@griffa00 I don't exactly expect it with a top 10 list
@@griffa00 lol i always see them to see which songs
Y O U
F O R G O T
D A Z E D
A N D
C O N F U S E D
Max Johnson maybe he was dazed and confused
The riff from Dazed and Confused is actually from Jake Holmes' Dazed and Confused.
@Jon V Page added stuff
@@outis439-A yea but it's not his song but Ig its nows his lmao but still.
Dazed and confused is a bass song
no quarter, when the levee breaks and whole lotta love will always be my jams.
Gabe Morehouse hell yeah brother
Easily top 3.
I really like Babe I'm Gonna Leave You's riff
Evan Acree I thought I was the only one. Also I felt Ten Years Gone could've been mentioned
Can’t really play that on a les paul
HIS NAME WAS ROBERT PAULSON
If we’re doing acoustic riffs then Stairway to Heaven is the best
But it’s a very good riff and it’s really fun to play
Led Zeppelin IV be like “you want some tasty licks”
Let's be honest, every Led Zeppelin Album was like that
@@nikolaimikhail7774 I wouldnt say so, led zep 4 was all excellent songs, all very good, the other albums, mostly excellent songs plus some good songs
@@petperthecommenter3364 come on, Physical Graffiti? If anything that album had more tasty licks than IV
@@nikolaimikhail7774 okay, let me re listen to it, haven't heard it in along time
@@nikolaimikhail7774 I listened to one of the records on Physical graffiti on my walk this morning, and so far Zep 4 beats it still.
The Rover, Moby Dick, and Living Loving Maid are my top three unappreciated Led Zeppelin riffs.
10. The Ocean
9. Communication Breakdown
8. Rock and Roll
7. Black Dog
6. Heart Breaker
5. Immigrant Song
4. Whole Lotta Love
3. Bring it on Home
2. Moby Dick
1. Kashmir
you missed out 11
Highlighted comment
WLL/ Heartbreaker 1. In my time of my dying también
Great list
especially for putting Kashmir on 1 instead of Whole Lotta Love
but I miss Achilles Last Stand, no quarter, out on the tiles and The Rover
Die Ananas Achilles is the best
Every guitar riff is so good that there needs to be a number for every song of Led Zeppelin.
To be fair, there are many, many, many Zeppelin riffs that could have been included. Frankly, a Top 50 would probably not be enough to satisfy everyone.
The lemon song
Die Ananas why? Kashmir is way overrated, they have way better riffs than Kashmir, putting Kashmir at number one was an awful decision
Geez, someone wrote all over that nice guitar. I'd file a police report!
Jakov Matić The signature is from Slash, and you’re not good with sarcasm
BROWN22SUGAR wow, that was kinda unnecessary
Frosty VR The dude I replied to deleted his comments
BROWN22SUGAR my guy it’s kinda hard to be sarcastic through text. the guy was making a joke and you felt the need to attack him for it. piss off
Jaesen Johns Truthsurge’s comment is clearly a sarcastic joke. The guy I replied to didn’t understand that it was joke so I pointed it out to him and even helped him with who’s signature it is. How you think I’m attacking anyone is beyond stupid
have a better idea
"Led Zeppelin Top All Riffs"
KAAN GURAY SIRIN off hele No Quarter
Hardal
Nice, I've been learning Heartbreaker. Jimmy Page is the king of riffs.
Comic Lover Tony Iommi :(
NRW EltitoPeps Tony is actually my VERY CLOSE second.
Mate wtf XD
Tony is God of riffs, even Page would say it. Jimmy did well job in rock'n'roll family by his iconic style and solos
Mateusz Żywicki Yeah I've been listening to a lot of Sabbath the past two weeks. I kinda agree now, especially after seeing the 1970 Paris show.
Comic Lover Thank you :)
man "The Ocean" is so fun to play on the drums as well. Incredibly easy in a way, yet amazing feel to play with the 15/12 time signature.
Lukas T ya, I agree, the ocean is fun to play on the drums.
Lukas T That’s a thing? I didn’t know there was a such thing as 15/12.
Lukas T the ocean is in 15/8 not 15/12
Ankur Mudugu no it's not. There are two bars of 4/4 and a bar of 7/8. It's 15/8
There is one bar of 4/4 and one bar of 7/8, shouldn't be 11/12?
No quarter is my favourite riff. Man that riff is badass
100% agree
In my time of dying should've been in there. One of the most impressive slide guitar riffs.
You're so right 🤘
Oh ......so so true
I saw them twice.....so lucky I have been
It's not so popular, but Ten Years Ago is a good one too.
Gone * And yeah, i actually enjoy a lot that riff and playing that song in general, peace.
So chill, so good, the riff is amazing
Ohhh bro its sooo good. Such a sleeper for zep
In My Time of Dying has a collection of wicked riffs. It is definitely on my top
^ This. Nobody's Fault But Mine is close too.
agree 💚
Except those are slide guitar riffs, so I can see why it wasn't included.
Also open A tuning. But holy shit, it’s the most badass thing I’ve ever heard.
That song is an absolute masterpiece
You know, all these riffs are great, and so are the that everyone else is asking for. But can I just throw some love to my favourite guitar riff of all time? No Quarter - the way the riff comes in after the slow, ethereal intro is spine tingling.
The best Zeppelin riff if the one you are listening to at the moment.
They are all great
Massive Led Zeppelin fan, Jimmy Page is one of my favourite guitarists and biggest influences so this was awesome, man. Hopefully you can do more artists like this in the future and peace from Canada
+Andrew Pappas thanks man!!
Andrew Pappas pls do suggest songs like Ten Years Gone and The Rain Song
Loved your playing. Many YT guitarists miss the basics, but you have Jimmy's riffs locked down. Thumbs up.
I sit here with my guitar and just play this video over and over again. Thank you for being awesome!!
How come, "Dancing Days," never makes anyone's top ten Zeppelin riffs? That riff is rock gold
good times bad times?
ShayZeACE That's what I said!!!
ShayZeACE Right, that has to be in at least the top 5!
I think there need to be at least 10 riffs in a Led Zeppelin top 5!
I was reading the comments waiting for someone to say this
I need a Les Paul
Tony M yes you do
Tony M Get one
I got a Epi Standard Pro recently, it's close enough to other Gibson LS I've heard in the store and on the reviews here when considering price difference.
Francis Ducharme Get one.
I'd you can't afford one (like me, 14 so yeahhh no job) I would recommend getting a epiphone one or an Oscar Schmidt one, or maybe an Ibanez, like a gio or something, I don't have a les paul but my Ibanez still that same type sound (it's modeled after a SG) so it doesn't have the exact sound, but double humbuckers and a heavy body are really the main part of the les paul sound, I prefer the strat myself though (my guitar budget went to a mim strat and 2 pedals when I upgraded)
Seen a few of your videos. I like them. Good stuff. Nice tone. Keep it up. Thanks
My two favorite guitarists: Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi.
I expect Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker, The Ocean, Black Dog, Kashmir, Stairway to Heaven, Whole Lotta Love, Rock and Roll, Communication Breakdown, and Moby Dick. Looks like I was wrong.
Turtleturd pretty damn close tho
stairway to heaven isnt really a riff song though so thats why it wasnt there
Tombo Bembe Really the only riff in Stairway was after the solo which isn't anything that good.
Turtleturd all the most popular songs?
I thought When The Levee Breaks should have been in here.
If we're talking purely riffs, In the Light has an amazing riff.
an absolutely beautiful song. have a drink and a puff or go in sober, those outstanding keyboard riffs at the beginning suck you in and when they cook it's brilliant. plant's voice on this is ethereal.
Dee Zee Heck yeah! In The Light is too underrated imo
The song's a masterpiece!
Project-awesome customs and music it’s like they never made a bad song
Started playing guitar a couple months ago and a lot of these have already been added to my Arsenal! Love Led Zep!!!
Great work Danilo , love your playing .
I Already Knew Kashmir Would Be #1
It made me happy to see you put Bring It On Home on number 3, there's not many people out there that recognise how good that song actually is
Aitor Vazquez when I first heard that song as a kid it blew my mind. I had heard most of LZII on the radio or otherwise, but not Bring It On Home. I was digging the harmonica and old school vibe but not as into it as the rest of the album, but when that riff exploded out of the speakers, and the band comes in, I fell in love.
Thank you! You provide a visual commentary on Jimmy's mysterious chords.
And I am happy for 'The Ocean' included.
Came for the guitar but couldn’t help but notice the drums. Such class. Just no other word for them.
The Rover
Such an underrated Zep song. My favorite
Zeppelin ♫ I love how your a zeppelin fan and a pink floyd fan at the same time you rock man
jfinkle man, zep and Floyd are the best rock bands ever , how can someone do not love both?
Lu V so true
jfinkle i am same of that kind
No. 1 will always remind me of 007 Goldeneye
guitarist6494 great game
guitarist6494 Why is that?
LoneStar 84 because that song is on 007 golden eye
Austin Moser It sounds kinda similar, but obviously not Kashmir.
Or call of duty black ops
Nice. Well done, you really have the spirit of these songs nailed.
New Zeppelin fan here. Not a fan of the old blues, so when I was listening to "Bring it on home" I wasn't I big fan. Then I finally gave it a full listen and boy was I in for a surprise ! It definitely deserves to be on this list.
For me, Heartbreaker gave me tingles. That’s when you know that Jimmy Page is a true genius. Listen to the Royal Albert Hall live version, and thank me later
jimmy page guitar playing is on records he became the greatest guitar songwriter of any guitarist scotty more was his influence only to outshine scotty as bluesrock was formed by jimmy page and the rest is history as you can see every guitarist wants to be jimmy page not scotty i stick to playing my own bluesrock turn to records for a rest and listen to others great music

Greetings from Illinois in the US. Awesome selection from one of my favorite bands. Love that drop tuning for Moby Dick and Kashmir!
+icurt06 thanks a lot man!! Cheers!
I’m from Illinois! What part?
In the Evening is probably my #1. You know its a good riff when its the only one in a 7 minute song and you never get sick of it.
Love all of them! Grande Danilo!!!!!!
Led Zeppelin, the Best, yesterday, today and forever...
Traveling Riverside Blues
Excellent as always Danilo!
I thoroughly enjoyed that. Now I'm inspired to learn all 10 too.
Good stuff man. As soon as you went drop D i flipped, haha.
+J-Fish69 haha thanks!
J-Fish69 Yeah but isn't Kashmir in DADGAD? How'd you play it without dropping the B to an A?
I didn't play the part of the song where the B(A) string is required
Fucking dadgad. I was just going double drop d. Thank you for this.
Thar she blows...
"Bring it on home" will always be my favorite
great job man, this is insane!
Great sound buddy you nailed it!! 👍
Ótima lista de "Top 10", só incluiria "No Quarter"
When The Levee Breaks? That's always been one of my favorites.
Really dig the riffs and mix gj man🤘🤘
Outstanding performance, Sir! Excellent! 👏🏼👍🏼🤘🏼
Mine would be:
1. The ocean
2. Kashmir
3. Black dog
4. No Quarter
5. Bring it on home
6. Dazed and confused (all riffs)
7. How many more times
8. Whole lotta love
9. Heartbreaker
10. Good times bad times
WHERE IS ACHILLES LAST STAND!
there are so many riffs in that song
Fat Tulane I wouldn’t say the riff is that good but the bass and drums are what made that song
STANDO!!!!
Very clean bro, nice nice work!
Sounds great! thank you for the video!
Awesome! However, as always)
From Russia with (love) great respect!)
+TheTilRich thanks a lot man!!
Danilo Vicari we're the fuck is stairway to heaven???????
+Mr.Mustashe 727 stairway to heaven has an arpeggio, not a riff
Danilo Vicari what's that???????
Danilo Vicari whole lotta love isn't strummed with alternate picking?
WHERE'S NO QUARTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I WAS ASKING ME THE SAME QUESTION
Well, now that I've read this comment there's no point in watching the full video
Leo Chang in the description says "personal riffs"
axel ivan oropeza soto I know I just can't believe that No Quarter didn't make it to anyone's top 10
Leo Chang no quarter has no good riffs
Freakin awesome bro!!! Great stuff!!!
Bravissimo, Danilo! Questo è così bello!
love the band they are my FAVOURITE and number one is my favourite sing by them.
but its a shame that achilles last stand isn't on there...
I fucking love Bring It On Home
Awesome shirt, great music. Keep it up dude!
Excellent job! You are a very good guitar player. You have a lot of enthusiasm when you play.
Great playing! You should take Whole Lotta Love one step further though and bend the D note up along with the open D string which creates a dissonant sound.....just like Jimmy does on the studio recording of the song
The Wanton Song?
+Does anybody remember laughter I love your username😂🤘🏻
Should have replaced rock n roll
C#m Best Key whattttt ur nuts man. i mean my personal favourites are celebration day, friends, going to california, dancing days, bring it on home, since i've been loving you, the wanton song, black country woman and tea for one. some of these songs are zeppelins most underrated songs but i love em.
In my opinion psychical graffiti has some of zeppelin’s best riffs.
Started learning the guitar the beginning of this year. So much more appreciation for some of my favourite tracks after beginning to learn this instrument. (Especially after butchering some of my favourites as well.)
Great work, played many of these songs when i was younger ... lovely to hear on quality guitars ,, well done !!
that drum machine was programmed by a guitarist!!
undae honestly though
Yeah nice try !!
The drums honestly ruined it for me in my opinion
And it shows
"Pretty neat, huh," says Jimmy Page, describing the Kashmir riff.
This guy is fantastic! I'm shocked he's not in a popular band today.
Thank you for this awesome video!
I'd consider Over the Hills and Far Away for this list, too.
2:40 Wholla lotta love is the Best \m/
Ângela Balzan vc de novo 😂😂😂se inscreve no meu
Ângela Balzan I want to say Aerosmith rhythm guitarist claims that the opening riff to Whole Lotta Love got him hooked on guitar. What was more amusing about it was he asked his mom, who was a guitarist, to teach him the riff.
Yees
Agreed.
Nope. That title goes to Heartbreaker
Well done! Was waiting for the Rover
Brouuuuu! This is AMAZING!
There is a song called Achilles Last Stand
Please do a Top 10 Rush Riffs!!! So underrated, eventhough they have some great riffs
Love your videos, tone, touch, all so good.
Grazie Dani è un piacere ascoltarti
You should do top 10 Thin Lizzy riffs. They've got some good ones!
Emerald, The Boys Are Back in Town, Thunder and LIghtning, masterpieces
whiskey in the jar is my favorite
Jailbreak is their best in my opinion.
Black Rose [Gary Moore]
WHERE THE FUCK IS "NO QUARTER"??!
Johnny Polish It's on Houses of the holy.
Hessel van der Wal hahahahaha
Well done, love it!!!!
Sounds great! You've got a new follower - and of course I'll be checking out your other links above. Keep rockin'!
Wheres How many more times, In tyme of Dying, and When the Levee breaks.
Any love for Custard Pie on this thread?
Geoffrey Gentry Fucking awesome opening riff in that song man 🤘🏻
Don’t forget Sick Again, that song is phenomenal!
Geoffrey Gentry, are you kidding me? Custard Pie one of my all-time favourites.
I wanted this to keep on going....fantastic!
Honestly, the fact that so many great song riffs didn't make the cut on this video just proves Led Zeppelin's superiority
