      well, all my apologies for the most part are due to the fact that the description of the channel shows the uploads of the videos in real time. and I don't want to deceive my subscribers. Now I try to record the highest quality original video (every keyframe), because that the RUclips player final processing sometimes very, very bad. @@homeperson11244 alonso car didn't hit the airbox. It hit the halo, and if you look at the bodywork of leclercs car, it hit right above the air intake, which means that if the halo didn't redirect the tire, it would have slammed into his head at a force estimated at about 5000kg.

    • @homeperson11244

      @@SadMarinersFan yeah, i did examine the video again and half you right and half you wrong. If you look at the wreck on leclerc's car you could see the airbox was destroyed because it absorb the force from the Alonso's sidepod and make the car flew right in the top of the leclerc's head. Had the airbox wasn't in there or 5 cm lower, it would surely hit leclerc's head banging his head between two halo structure and probably giving him a medium head trauma. Still i praise the halo for that accident because if the halo wasn't in there the tyre would hit Leclerc's hand instead but for me the real hero was the airbox

    Though i prefer grass gravel and sand run-off's as its suppose to keep drivers in check by almost guaranteeing a loss of control, it also causes major accidents and race delays. F1 circuits have mostly opted for pavement run-offs which visually dont look great but does a decent job of reducing such issues.

  • @SceneArtisan
    @SceneArtisan 6 лет назад

    Play in Slow-Motion (0.25 speed) from about 2:10 and wait till you can see Andretti's car as it goes over another car, see how VERY close it came to hitting the driver's (Hinchcliffe's?) head - in this instance a Halo wouldn't have mattered, but even though the driver suffered no hard/heavy contact or damage from it you *could* argue a Halo wouldn't have been necessary, but all it takes is contact (an errant wheel or loose bodywork or worse still, the chassis of another vehicle) to a driver's head and it'll possibly be fatal.
    My point = Should IndyCar consider using Halo devices on their cars? *Halos, for those not in the know, are compulsory drivers' head protection (cockpit 'surrounds') in Formula 1 as of 2018.

    • @megumei044
      @megumei044 6 лет назад

      The halo is necessary when it comes to an impact from a car at a perpendicular angle to the drivers head. Think of a car just missing the roll hoop support section where the top of the drivers head is able to be hit from the side. Martin brundle's crash from Brazil 1994' is something along those lines. He got his bell rung when he was hit by Jos Verstappen's rear tire and would have been fatal had it not been a glancing blow. There's lots of videos of that crash on youtube still.
      There's also the threat of a car doing a head on hit where another car can ride up the nose and impact the driver face first. Think of how Wheldon was killed by the support fence, he hit the fence in a head on impact where he hit a solid object which sheered the top of his vehicle off including himself sadly. The F1 halo probably wouldn't have saved him in that crash but it would in a car to car impact. Still brings to question what track safety can do with catch fencing to prevent things like Wheldon's crash from being fatal. Senna was killed by his tire hitting him on the face and suspension penetrating his brain, a halo type device could have deflected the tire and kept him safe. I get that people are upset by the halo's lack of aesthetics but never have safety measures been about aesthetics. People lost their mind when we started raising the cockpits of cars after Ratzenberger's & Senna's deaths at Imola 94 and here we are today with many many drivers who owe their lives to those very raised cockpits. The same will be said about the halo one day and whatever successor it may have that fits in with the aesthetics of the cars so everyone gets their cake and eats it too.

      @@UnwindingRoads To be honest the windshield they are designing for Indy isn't bad, it suits the chassis still keeps the open cockpit and provides protection.
      The halo is absolutely rubbish and should not be in F1.

    • @megumei044
      @megumei044 6 лет назад

      Would you be cracking that joke if Marco's car had been a few more feet to the left where it didn't impact the roll hoop section of the other car but instead ran right over the nose and cockpit? Another crash where the drivers got lucky that the driver wasn't impacted by a vehicle or fence. Yeah the halo is ugly AF but it does the job it's supposed to do and maybe at some point we will have something that is also aesthetically pleasing to the eye as well as performing as intended. People joked/complained/cried rivers of tears about raising the sides of the cockpits to protect the drivers and making them wear a HANS device but that never destroyed the sport and fans eventually just got back to watching the racing going on the track. We'll do the same with the halo/windshield.

    • @mattfarrar5472
      @mattfarrar5472 6 лет назад

      @@megumei044 it's not luck mate henceit is a joke, there is a reason people don't get injured with cars flying over other cars, they have been designed with the safety triangle to protect the drivers head in every way except a chuck of flying debris...

    • @megumei044
      @megumei044 6 лет назад

      It's pure luck that things went the way they did. Keep on cracking jokes until a driver gets killed. The safety triangle does it's job only for objects that can come down to crush the driver. It does nothing against a side or head on impact where another object will strike the drivers head area. But keep joking away mate, I'm sure you'll laugh it up when another Bianchi or Wheldon happens. It's all good fun right?!

    • @megumei044
      @megumei044 6 лет назад

      It will take the death of a driver again to get the proverbial fire lit under some rear ends. F1 had this same problem with Bianchi's eventual death due to his crash related injuries and while the solution isn't the most aesthetically pleasing it does the intended job.

    • @thedragonofdalzell
