Actually, in spite of it's starting position being worse than an early formed European Union, Eurasia got more potential in the terms of gaining land I believe, in spite of losing out on the British Isles and Turkey
The British Isles should be easy. Just unify them with France/EU. However the EU can annex the Eurasian Union, too. So it doesn't really matter with which one you start.
oh no the EU has an insane max expansion because Russia usually absorbs Georgia and the other states down there as well as most of Central Asia, and Turkey also gets a few claims itself
@@Johannes-br6zn The British Isles are better to be unified with the Commonwealth (I think) But about the "EU can annex the Eurasian Union", can they annex the entirety of it?
@@polishraspberries Sure, if you can re-unify the Commonwealth before GB is absorbed into the EU, even better. You can fully annex any nation as long as you have a claim on their capital region. The second EU tech gives the EU a claim on Moscow.

Hey Perun, thank you for your amazing content! Best series on Terra invicta out there! I have a humble request: could you possibly do a small video concerning councilors? How do you approach equipping orgs, running missions, going undercover et cetera? I am in 2032 right now, the Aliens have just landed, the other factions have stolen the majority of my earth orbitals and two of my councilors have been assassinated - clearly, I did something wrong....
Amazing to watch the spontaneous, joyous enthusiasm of the Germans and Danes in joining the Eurasian Union. A firm guiding hand and dead xenos is just what Earth needs in these trying times. 👍
Postponing the alien nation has been a great boon, its given alot of time to research ways to defend space assets that will inevitably be attacked when you have to deal with aliens on earth
Visible Lasers and Arc Lasers aren't really separate paths, and in fact work together well, although it is a bit of extra cost; visible lasers increases the range of all types of lasers by letting you use green light instead of IR. Green arc lasers are quite good.
I bought the game purely because of this series im really bad but having fun. Was wondering if you had any advice about interacting with the non-alien factions since I lost my first campaign to somehow starting a 4-way war between all the anti-alien factions despite me more or less never interacting with them.
The diplomacy is really pretty simple. You do what Perun does in the video, send them care packages. I don't know about fair trades, but at least generous trades improve their opinion. So just send them those until relations improve. Something I'd like to know myself is whether you want to send them multiple smaller trades or if a single larger one will do.
Perhaps I've yet to see far enough into the game but it was my initial impression that a lot of the early-mid game military tech existed to address competition between Earth powers in space, but it just seems like that never comes up. This is probably just because I don't have much experience with the mid game and perhaps this is exactly what happens or I just don't understand how many ships you end up pumping out. I'm probably just sore because I found out that relegating the Servants to a largely earthbound faction doesn't matter once they gain the tech to tell their dad.
Should probably keep India below 16trillion if possible. that is the point where it goes from 5 to 6 control point nation. According to decompiled code, the research output for poor countries just uses 15k GDP per capita instead. Could as well 100% knowledge it.
Hey Perun, you keep mentioning the danger to the alien nation tech, can you go into why it's so dangerous and what it's effects are? Right now a Servants run is appealing to me just to see what I'd need to fight from the enemy's perspective.
I'd actually argue visible lasers + arc lasers are when lasers truly become viable. IR Arc is still gonna have a bit of trouble with range and armor pen
I have had no issues with the supervised referendums so far, it is just game and all. Still, being a Dane, at around 11:50 "Hang on, let's no go overboard with this." popped in to my brain.
What is the Servants faction project before alien nation? Can't find out however hard i try looking for it. There is no data even in their full tech tree when i searched for it. And i definitely don't want to sink dozens of hours into playing the servants to find out. A research guide going into specific faction projects too would be godsent.
I keep going back and forth on getting this game I like a lot of the setting and systems but I feel like the coup d’état will get really irritating in the mid and late game. Seems like a game I would play early to early mid and restart or quit and never finish
I've tried setting up a few coups myself and they're a lot of work for larger countries. Perun makes them look easy. They require a lot of public opinion shifting and building up unrest, so you have time to resist that by either dealing with the unrest, public opinion or the opposing councilors. Besides the other factions only do concerted efforts like that if you're at war with them, so you can alleviate the problem a lot by simply doing diplomacy. Besides, so what if you never finish the game? I haven't finished most of the games I play. I still enjoy playing them and at least for me enjoyment is the point of playing games, not completion.
These just can't come out fast enough! Keep it up, loving the series. Hope to see other factions after this playthrough to see how the story and strategy changes (Humanity First for life, tho)
@@arek314 I'd like to see one of the others, I imagine the resistances story is at least somewhat similar since their goals are closer. Maybe the Academy
visible lasers arent a second tree of lasers. they actually combine with arc lasers, so while with just arc lasers you would get IR arc lasers, with the visible ones, you will also get green arc lasers.
Days after your play, but I hope you are guarding your councilors, or have been leveling up security. In the mid 2030's Initiative and Protectorate were hardcore at war with me and I lost 3 councilors to assassinate missions.
Is it best to unify the Eurasian Union into the European Union, or the other way around? And why? Also, I've read somewhere something about unifying the EU/Russia with the US, but that sounds like a bit of a stretch. Is it even possible?
ive seen quite a few talk about the usa merger isntead, but i dont know, and hoping someone else replies, because suposedly the bonus when usa goes to war is pretty good with huge nations
I've been following this since episode 1 and I am following a very similar strategy to yours grab America, consolidate its nearby powers (Canada Mexico) at a very similar point in time to you as well 2031. how the hell do you have 5k research...… I fell like I have rushed research more than anything completely ignore military, yet your literally 100x my research at this point in the game. I feel like the point allocation system for nations could do with a tutorial cause I have a feeling that's where I went wrong ?
YESSS! Please an in-depth discussion on various national priorities templates! I still cannot properly wrap my head around the different co-dependencies in the nation screen. Also, I tried to do the early USA rush for fun just now - I finally got all of USA in December 2023 - one full year after the unification that Perun managed to pull off in episode one ... :(
@@wowailyich615 Having ANY xenoflora (even invisible ones, so investigate/surveille a lot) will increase your unrest. And use the stabilize mission to get it back to 0 ASAP. It hurts your economy. Also, ALL the templates are crap. Spoils is very bad for your country, so always set it to zero, unless you need emergency cash (or just cap another country, and set its CPs to 100% spoils). These and a few other things made Russia (my first big country) into a turd. I'm not even bothering with its military any more, as I have the USA and EU as well. Also, there appears to be a strategy to make certain countries specialists (focus heavily on research, or economy, etc), but I dont get that. The results should technically be the same, but it might have something related to democracy/welfare/cohesion. Dunno.
Are your resource values showing their daily, monthly or yearly totals. I see you are making 5.5k research but on my game I'm getting like 60. It's late 2029 I have control of Canada, China, USA and have been investing 20-30% into knowledge most of the game . I went to some previous videos from this series and all the suddenly I see a massive jump in research from the end of E8 to the start of E9. Love the videos they are helping me out a ton
I wondered about that myself, it's clearly monthly. Although his income is still impressive. Gotta say though having China and US at the same time in late 2029 is pretty impressive. When it comes to research his 6k includes all the research generated. So that's 6 slots with all the relevant bonuses applied. I'm at January 2030 and my daily research is 113. Based on that I'm wondering if you have enough research bonuses? How many skunkworks do you have? Have you maxed out all the research station bonuses from interface orbits?
For me the retaliation was never insignificant. Whenever I get to the fifth star the aliens literally destroy my entire space presence within 2 months, and for me it happens as soon as I trap the first Hydra
I'd like to strongly encourage you to look at the African formables as potential for expansion for a medley of reasons: 1) pop-wise they're huge 2) anybody who owns a few countries in Africa won't be entrenched due to the low stability and low CPs of most African nations, making the AIs coup each other regularly and giving you ample time to wait for an ally to lose control of a country to an enemy you can then invade 3) add up all those African nations together and you get A LOT of CPs, making them more stable
I find it a little surprising that you built a dedicated manufacturing base, rather than put one nanofactory, defence array and farm per base, then filling the free spots with various labs.
So, its seems that if you defeat the alien nation, and you stop rebuilding to make sure you are under the MC Hate limit, it seems that it goes back to normal mechanics? Its not total war? I haven't had another alien strike in 3 months now - but they blew up so much shit, my rebuild has to be boosted :(
Huh, for me the Initiative unified the Koreas in my first game... and apparently also either disarmed or used NK's only nuclear barrage. If it was used I didn't get a notification for that.
I just annexed germany peacfully only with claim on berlin. Was worried i dont get hamburg too, but i did.. Though i did it with unification, not invasion
Visible Combat Lasers do improve the overall Laser weapon, and it is the only way to get to UV Lasers(which you need if you want to use lasers in a more meaningul usefull capacity). Based on my own testing, you need at minimum Green Arch Lasers for laser weapons to be worth using, their still not great and they get outperformed by pretty much everything, BUT they can in sufficient numbers atleast destroy lighter smaller alien vessels. The problem with Laser Weapons is that while they do hit 100% of the time, those hits do virtualy no damage. Untill you get very late game ships with advanced engines that can match or outperform their alien counterparts so you CAN get to within 200km of the target where lasers start to do some actual damage, lasers are virtualy useless, and by the time you get faster ships, you probably finaly have UV Phasers which will still benefit from getting closer, but they dont take so much of a penalty from range that they cannot blow up a basic alien gunboat. And incase you are going for Arch lasers just for the PD, untill the devs actualy fix PD lasers on ships the tech level of the PD laser does no meaningful difference. Their not going to fire untill its way too late to intercept the missile/projectile anyway. Though to be fair they might be better in autoresolve because PD actualy works there.
@@PerunGamingAU Actualy, you can ignore my complaints about PD. The new Patch that came out a couple hours ago has fixed PD and going Arc and Phaser for PD is now deffinitely worth it. Even the basic Laser PD engages targets as one might expect.
My first run is probably going to run into the problem that the servants have China. And while I do have the fall of china project (servants really pushed fall of great nations research), getting unrest in china is so hard to do. War seems a bad option as well with all the nukes they have, although I can throw 5 US and 3 EU armies at them
Question for exploration: If you *completely* kill off alien biological spread on earth, does that cause extreme alien hate? In my game, I've been extremely diligent about murdering alien life, and the resistance has been just as diligent in their zones of control, and I honestly don't think there are alien biologics anywhere on the planet.
I think that going for a significant coalition country is really important. I’m about… 4 years behind Perun’s level of development. Doesn’t mean I’ve lost the play through though. I’ve been messing up protectorate and servant research the whole time. And it doesn’t help them that they don’t have major nations. They’ve been exiled to the edges. Still, I haven’t been able to expand as dramatically as he was able to do.
I’m looking forward to seeing the tech that finally let’s the US create the Greater United States of the Americas. I don’t know if that is actually a thing but I sure hope it is
This is so bizarre to watch - I control 2/3ds of the globe and am well ahead of the AIs, yet I have 1/4th your research, haven't unlocked those crazy +50 research modules, no exotics etc ...

I look forward to these episodes every single day. Seriously dude, you've got some real talent when it comes to making entertaining and interesting content. One of the few creators where I have the notifications bell on all.
I wonder if the Alien Capital/Mother Ship in orbit was able to facilitate the tech infusion of the servants.
Nah, they probably just got an event. Aliens don’t give you research directly
I'm getting impatient to see this thru to the end so I can see what actual space conflict looks like. great series and commentary so far, just wish I didn't have to wait on new episodes =P
@@Johannes-br6zn So technically, you could have a united Commonwealth, Eurasia AND Europe as a single United European State
I am really enjoying this playthrough and find myself checking for a new episode everyday. Thanks for the awesome content and I'm excited to see the late game!
Go to ground when detected
Amazing to watch the spontaneous, joyous enthusiasm of the Germans and Danes in joining the Eurasian Union. A firm guiding hand and dead xenos is just what Earth needs in these trying times. 👍
Binged all 13 episodes and looking forward to more. The editing on these videos is very well done.
Postponing the alien nation has been a great boon, its given alot of time to research ways to defend space assets that will inevitably be attacked when you have to deal with aliens on earth
Can hardly wait for the next episode. Things are just starting to get spicy. Best playthrough I've seen for sure.
You're doing the best playthrough of this game in youtube, i just hope you would upload more frequently!
Is there a reason you prefer Nanofactories to things like Space Hotels? Just easier to provide energy to & protect on Mercury?
Visible Lasers and Arc Lasers aren't really separate paths, and in fact work together well, although it is a bit of extra cost; visible lasers increases the range of all types of lasers by letting you use green light instead of IR. Green arc lasers are quite good.
This series is why I pay money for internet. Love it!
After binge watching this entire series in the first 2 days of my 3 day weekend, I honestly don’t know what I am going to do with myself now…
10 out of 10 so far. Keep it up!
I bought the game purely because of this series im really bad but having fun. Was wondering if you had any advice about interacting with the non-alien factions since I lost my first campaign to somehow starting a 4-way war between all the anti-alien factions despite me more or less never interacting with them.
You either got too powerful or were too week
The diplomacy is really pretty simple. You do what Perun does in the video, send them care packages. I don't know about fair trades, but at least generous trades improve their opinion. So just send them those until relations improve.
Something I'd like to know myself is whether you want to send them multiple smaller trades or if a single larger one will do.
@@alexandercaires5921 thats getting patched in the newest patch
Perhaps I've yet to see far enough into the game but it was my initial impression that a lot of the early-mid game military tech existed to address competition between Earth powers in space, but it just seems like that never comes up. This is probably just because I don't have much experience with the mid game and perhaps this is exactly what happens or I just don't understand how many ships you end up pumping out. I'm probably just sore because I found out that relegating the Servants to a largely earthbound faction doesn't matter once they gain the tech to tell their dad.
Its 8 pm for me so i should sleep but Perun just dropped a video 9 minutes ago so…
Man I like this series so much I just wish it'd come out faster
"must go faster"
Eurasia going good, how soon until Oceania is formed and Airstrip One is brought into the fold?
Would you consider releasing Siberia, its low value colonial land that will massively boost your cohesion if you shed it. Worth a shot
it's a good point. I don't think I have the tech though, or is Siberia a base option?
@@PerunGamingAU I think its a base option!
Looking forward to the next episode!
Should probably keep India below 16trillion if possible. that is the point where it goes from 5 to 6 control point nation. According to decompiled code, the research output for poor countries just uses 15k GDP per capita instead. Could as well 100% knowledge it.
so its better to pop research and MC on poor nations?
@@any1alive well and US too couse apparently theres also a 45k per capita cap..
I've been binging your Ukraine videos all day, so this is an excellent nightcap.
Which Ukraine videos? He only uploads terra Invicta
@@theorixlux There is only Terra Invicta. No other content exists on this platform. Join Humanity First today!
@@theorixlux he has another channel where he is an arm chair general for Ukraine.
New episodes can't come out fast enough. I'm regretting watching this at 1 am on a Sunday but it had to be done.
Hey Perun, you keep mentioning the danger to the alien nation tech, can you go into why it's so dangerous and what it's effects are? Right now a Servants run is appealing to me just to see what I'd need to fight from the enemy's perspective.
1 out of 3 historic axis powers in a HF playthrough, together with the US, India, and Russia. Interesting.
Was waiting for this all day. Good thing I stayed up all night too
I'd actually argue visible lasers + arc lasers are when lasers truly become viable. IR Arc is still gonna have a bit of trouble with range and armor pen
I make the comment only because I wanted to skip to phasers
I have had no issues with the supervised referendums so far, it is just game and all.
Still, being a Dane, at around 11:50 "Hang on, let's no go overboard with this." popped in to my brain.
Would the servants be more of a map painting faction?
yes
Maybe visible lasers are a req for something Exodus need to leave the solar system?
it may well be
What is the Servants faction project before alien nation? Can't find out however hard i try looking for it. There is no data even in their full tech tree when i searched for it. And i definitely don't want to sink dozens of hours into playing the servants to find out. A research guide going into specific faction projects too would be godsent.
I keep going back and forth on getting this game I like a lot of the setting and systems but I feel like the coup d’état will get really irritating in the mid and late game. Seems like a game I would play early to early mid and restart or quit and never finish
It really doesn't and you can almost protect yourself 99.9% from getting couped if you understand all the systems and use them.
I've been loving this series
2 episodes a day possible? Quite addicted lol
Thoroughly enjoyed this one, only one negative the sound dropped off mid way through
These just can't come out fast enough! Keep it up, loving the series. Hope to see other factions after this playthrough to see how the story and strategy changes (Humanity First for life, tho)
The Resistance is pretty cool too. But I do get the "Humanity will destroy Aliens even if it means burning the solar system down to cinders"
@@arek314 I'd like to see one of the others, I imagine the resistances story is at least somewhat similar since their goals are closer. Maybe the Academy
visible lasers arent a second tree of lasers. they actually combine with arc lasers, so while with just arc lasers you would get IR arc lasers, with the visible ones, you will also get green arc lasers.
my plan is phasers
@@PerunGamingAU don't the higher tiers of lasers also combine with that? You can have UV phasers and green phazers.
Everyone in the US just likes to read books and do science. A very hopeful reaction to an alien invasion.
Always unify with the more democratic partner if possible. You get weighted results and gov is hardest to improve.
I am so used to just listening to you and not looking at the screen I accidentally started doing the same at this channel
and in todays episode of : democratizing Europe, one coop at a time ...
Crikey I'm only 5 years behind Perun in my resistance run, hope I've been pointing my tech in the right direction 😬
Are you using monthly or daily incomes? It's a setting in the setting menu.
Dunno.
@@PerunGamingAU that would make alot more sense!
Me when perun drop a video: *MOORRRRRRR*
Noo, too short!
thanks for the right click on tech tree thing. I gave up last night.
Thanks for the video.
9:06 th other option would be to peacefully federate and then unify that will do the whole thing as well
Are your resource values showing their daily, monthly or yearly totals.
Monthly. Its a setting in the options. Always playing with monthly to better plan stuff
@@mikkosaarinen3225 you double research with the station modules
Unfortunately England doesn't have a claim on Ireland.
Me as the red mist cleared: so that's what it's like to be viscerally triggered.
B-but the Mercury Dyson Sphere!
For me the retaliation was never insignificant. Whenever I get to the fifth star the aliens literally destroy my entire space presence within 2 months, and for me it happens as soon as I trap the first Hydra
I'd like to strongly encourage you to look at the African formables as potential for expansion for a medley of reasons:
1) pop-wise they're huge
2) anybody who owns a few countries in Africa won't be entrenched due to the low stability and low CPs of most African nations, making the AIs coup each other regularly and giving you ample time to wait for an ally to lose control of a country to an enemy you can then invade
3) add up all those African nations together and you get A LOT of CPs, making them more stable
I find it a little surprising that you built a dedicated manufacturing base, rather than put one nanofactory, defence array and farm per base, then filling the free spots with various labs.
This is the way to go but mercury doesn't need defense arrays yet
Project exodus just wants more lasers to fire at aliens.
Once all your economy is in space you can just nuke the earth with impunity. Humanity first!
So, its seems that if you defeat the alien nation, and you stop rebuilding to make sure you are under the MC Hate limit, it seems that it goes back to normal mechanics? Its not total war? I haven't had another alien strike in 3 months now - but they blew up so much shit, my rebuild has to be boosted :(
they will always eventually go back to normal unless you trigger "total war" but that's only possible quite late in the game
As a german I am highly offended by this hostile takeover!
(This is sarcasm btw.)
Huh, for me the Initiative unified the Koreas in my first game... and apparently also either disarmed or used NK's only nuclear barrage. If it was used I didn't get a notification for that.
If a nation without a nuclear program unifies one with nukes the nukes disappear
I just annexed germany peacfully only with claim on berlin. Was worried i dont get hamburg too, but i did.. Though i did it with unification, not invasion
Capable russian army sounds funny now
I am looking forward to play as the aliens..you..will be able to play as them eventually right?
As soon as you leave Earth and visit other planets and moons *you are the aliens*
Case closed
Im going Arc to get phasers
@@PerunGamingAU Actualy, you can ignore my complaints about PD. The new Patch that came out a couple hours ago has fixed PD and going Arc and Phaser for PD is now deffinitely worth it. Even the basic Laser PD engages targets as one might expect.
My first run is probably going to run into the problem that the servants have China. And while I do have the fall of china project (servants really pushed fall of great nations research), getting unrest in china is so hard to do. War seems a bad option as well with all the nukes they have, although I can throw 5 US and 3 EU armies at them
But Perun, isnt Arc just a modifier? Like, i think you can have IR Arc, Green Arc, UV Arc just as well as you can have plain IR, Green and UV lasers?
i crave for more episodes - crying
I don’t know if that is actually a thing but I sure hope it is
There's 2. First one gives claims on Canada and Greenland, second one gives claims down to Panama
This is so bizarre to watch - I control 2/3ds of the globe and am well ahead of the AIs, yet I have 1/4th your research, haven't unlocked those crazy +50 research modules, no exotics etc ...
