I LOVE cheesecake! Especially with strawberry toppings! I used to hate the idea of cheesecake cause I thought cheese and cake should never mix cause I kept thinking of swiss and cheddar cheese but now I love it now that I know it's made from cream cheese.

@@KanishQQuotes Oh yeah... I haven't heard of that brand in awhile... Lazy Boy was like... like the Cadillac of reclining chairs. Just a big, cushy recliner. They still make 'em, but, like serta or weber grills, they don't really advertise anymore. They pretty much survive off of their good name, since... well, people only buy that kind of stuff once every couple of years, at most.

To be fair, they were Blanche's friends & doubted her truthfulness. Of course, she was not going to make nice just because they out somewhere. Honestly, I know there would be no show without it (but it would have made a good two-part episode), I am surprised Blanche did not tell Dorothy & Rose, if they were going to call her a liar, they can just move out.

Great scripts delivered by season pros who all knew how long to pause for a laugh or how to enhance a line with just a tiny facial expression. This was a simple but incredible sitcom and because of the talent involved it holds up so well today.

I agree with you, only I like her hair shorter, I thought she was very striking, sexy and tall, mannish yes but not grossly so. She did not deserve the sometimes really rude comments the others would sling about her looks. In real life she got nasty comments about her appearance and voice, and was insecure about her appearance, yet she was so attractive.

Yes, and in an earlier episode, when Blanche's old "mammy" came to Miami, when she got in trouble with her, the mammy referred to her as Blanche MARIE Hollingsworth. Maybe the episodes had different writers, but one of the downsides to this was that continuity wasn't exactly their strong point.
Killjoy. Every show was like this then. Even newer ones have continuity issues, but they're better at it 'cause there's no away around it. People today can watch shows anytime, anywhere, wherever. Thus, they can dissect and analyze to their heart's content. Writers back then weren't so vigilant about that. Their aim was the joke. That's it. Plus, THE GOLDEN GIRLS were episodic, meaning each episode was self-contained. They may have had recurring guest characters (e.g. Stan) and themes (e.g. Stan and Dorothy's off-and-on), but the entire series wasn't following a singular narrative, from start to finish.
I think Hollingsworth was her maiden name. Can't explain the middle name thing though.
It's almost like her lifestyle was spelled out from the beginning.
