I love VGP. I'm glad I grabbed some of their reprints to save some cash... but they've burned me a few times as well. I'm glad you're enjoying this series!
I paid like $70 for Torna sealed like 6 months before the reprints which was actually a decent deal considering it was going for $90-$100 but ya the reprints absolutely killed the value on it so this one hurts a bit
Kickle Cubicle is one of my favorite NES games from my early childhood. I really felt like a genius as a little kid solving the puzzles. I should try it now and see how it aged.
Torna the golden Country is really good and refines the gameplay from the base game. But adds a community building system that becomes mandatory but don't let that dissuade you from aging it cause the story is really good and the combat is fun
Thanks! I've always loved the story and combat from the xenoblade games... but the characters, that's another story. I'm looking forward to giving it a shot
Bro, Dungeons and Dragons Tower of Doom and Shadow of Mysteria are 2 Arcade JRPG/Beat em Ups that I’m really wanting to play soon. I actually have Dungeons & Dragon Collection (Sega Saturn) but it’s missing Disk 2, but I actually got it off eBay for $64 plus Tax. I actually really love the concept of PN 03 to which you have to dance, do cartwheels and backflips to avoid enemy encounters and Sigma Star Saga is a JRPG that I’m hoping to get my hands on soon. Either way Great Episode as always RNG Gamer.
Thanks, man. I always appreciate your support. Bummer on missing disc 2 of the Saturn version. I've always loved the artwork on that case. I love the concept of PN03...I just hate the execution. It could have been so amazing. Try out Sigma Star Saga! Maybe you'll love it. There is some real potential there for sure
Yahoo Auctions Japan has several sold listings for DnD Mystara Heroes War Record. A sealed copy sold today for 11,500 yen. Used the game goes for 7000-10000 yen (~50-70 USD), sealed 11000-13000 (~75-90 USD). If I were selling your sealed copy on eBay right now with no competition, I would put it up for $150 like you said, but something like $120 would be more reasonable. It's only rare on western e-commerce sites.
Awesome stuff as always buddy i been looking forward to this hahaha. This series is awesome :) You did really well on the profit buddy. Also i cant believe you own Action 52 lol. I guess its so bad its good. I never played it but have seen the AVNG vid of it ;)
I'm really glad you're enjoying this series! It's fun to do. Yeah, I can't believe I own Action 52 either... I honestly haven't really played anything like it
Awesome video man! Kickle Cubicle is a fun one, good pick up either way. I’m with ya on a RPG Shoot em Up, that’s too bad Sigma Star Saga didn’t hit the mark!
Blades of Time is worth so much more on the PS3, these days. Why would you think Zone of the Enders would increase in value? That license has never really been hot.
Everything is more on the PS3. It's always been that way between Playstation and Xbox. I could see zone of the enders going going up a bit. But I don't think it'll ever explode in price. If it hasn't separated itself from the pack, there's not a great chance it will in the future
'P.N.03: Product Number' is one of my favorite Gamecube games. I think it's a great game, but you have to know what you're playing, and you'll either get it or you won't. I own 'Sigma Star Saga', but I've never played it yet. I think my copy is still sealed actually. I don't really check game prices muchb and didn't know it was a higher valued title, but it seems like GBA games in general are worth a little more these days, especially new and CIB titles.
@@RNGGamerYT Try getting a PS2-to-GC controller adapter and use a turbo-fire enabled PS2 controller. It's a completely different experience, IMO. I played a lot of Gamecube games with my prefered, 3rd party PS2 controller as a matter of preference, but P.N.03 definitely benefits from it most. The slightly different button layout isn't so much the issue, but a controller that has EASILY switchable on/off turbo functions (and you just have a lot more choices with 3rd party PS2 offerings since there are SO many on the market) makes hammering away on the face buttons seem archaic. Rapidfire shots and double cartwheels with minimal input effort helps me get into a rhythm or 'groove' in P.N.03 to the point where clearing out rooms with percision becomes second nature. That's what the game is really all about, precision, rhythm, patience...and style. P.N.03 isn't a deep experience, but once it finally clicks with you, your brain almost plays it on autopilot. It's really more a chill thing than an intense, action game. The problem is people who owned Gamecubes BITD are older now, and have a lot less time and a lot more games to play through in 2023 than they did 20 years ago in 2003. P.N.03 isn't 'pick up and play' friendly enough to enjoy without investing the time to understand the mechanics, but it's also very shallow, and that investment can probably be better spent on games that offer a deeper more rewarding experience than looking cool shooting robots, while cartwheeling around to the beat. P.N.03 probably isn't a great choice for someone with a massive library or backlog and/or limited gaming time, but it's still a decent, albeit misunderstood, title.
That's really interesting. I guess my info was wrong. Maybe it was Germany only when I first bought it, and it was released in the rest of the PAL territories shortly afterward.
I picked up Haunting Ground when it came out because it looked like a great game. I also got the guide which seems to be even rarer. I also order a copy of Boxville which, hopefully will be delivered one day.
When you mentioned a shooter RPG I thought it was going to be R-Type Tactics (PSP title). Don’t know much about it personally but I’m pretty sure it’s R-Type with RPG elements involved. I had a look out of curiosity to see if it was around physically and surprisingly there seems to be an upcoming collection on ps4 and presumably 5 for summer 2024 for I & II of both R-Type tactics games.
I picked up Growlanser Generations and Heritage of War on the PS2 pretty cheap thinking it would skyrocket but not too much. I also got Eternal Poison cheap and it seems to be pricey now.
Growlancer Generations is a surprising one. I thought it would have skyrocketed as well. Eternal Poison is turning into a heavy hitter for sure. Glad you could grab it for cheap
Kickle Cubicle "maybe the game play just isn't that good" them be fighting words, boy :) i haven't beaten that game yet, but it's really good and responsive with controls etc, each level gets more and more difficult, the game is quite similar to Snow Bros.
I imported Dungeons and dragons chronicles of mystara from Japan on PS3 too. I paid $40 many moons ago. Another game worth mentioning from Japan is Stryder physical PS3. I also have run like hell on PS2. I haven't played it yet but it looks cool. You and I have a lot on common. I have the same mentality and purchased a lot of my games before the price went up. I have about 1100 games.
That's a big collection! It's really cool that we have similar tastes in games. It's also cool that you were able to grab D&D. I passed on the physical of Stryder. I actually platinumed that game when it was a free PSN game... and I didn't care for it enough to grab the physical.
Ah, P.N.03. This has been on my list for a long time. I've only seen it once in person, years ago, for $15-20, but it was in such beat up condition that I passed on it. Now the price is too high to justify a very mediocre game that I likely won't ever put much time into. We'll see if GC prices ever come down some in the future, but otherwise this one is probably out of reach for me. Some interesting games on this video. I do own a few of the ones that you mentioned, although my Sigma Star is a loose cart and my Zone of the Enders collection is just the standard edition. These videos are a lot of fun, I look forward to more in the future!
Thanks! I really appreciate your support. Don't worry too much about PN03. It's not worth the stress. But, I am glad you had a couple of games off the list
Yes I am able to predict pretty well (have had a knack for it since collecting since a child). I purchased NES games before they shot up to finance my Saturn/Dreamcast stuff (before that shot up). However I have a few games that I bought randomly that shot up for NO reason. Those are the funny ones to me. Got MoHo on the DC for between 2-5 usd equivalent (the game is BAD) and am the owner of a Mighty Max LCD game that I got as a child that, apparently, only has a single picture online, and no info, to prove its existance (the common versions go for a lot of cash so this I expect would be more expensive). Then I have Metal Gear and Castlevania Legends for GBC/GB respectively that I bougth new and kept mib. I didn't know either series as a child so while an adult would've possibly known I bought them for the cool box art. Legends made me not purchase CotM and going with Kuru Kuru Kururin instead when the GBA dropped. Kuru Kuru not a bad game but damn would've appreciated CotM back then as well.🙄 Need to get Xenoblade perhaps. Don't have a single entry.
You seem to have good instincts on what will be rare. These videos are kind of a joke for me. I don't think I'm really any better than anyone else at predicting rarity. It's just a good way to check out some games to see if they've appreciated.
Splatter house for Xbox 360, had no idea what this game was just looked cool to me for a whopping $2.99 at GameStop back in 2013…. Now it’s worth anywhere from $30+ just shocked me and I’ve bought plenty of 360 games “ that looked unique to me “ like Peter Jackson’s King Kong on 360 paid $1 for it a few years ago in great condition and now it’s $40+ in good condition. Physical media is starting to stay at a price point it seems. I got a ps5 finally not long ago and I’m like dang… all the PS5 games are still $20+ heck when the 360 was only a few years old you could find games dirt cheap lol
Splatterhouse is a good one! You should see how much the PS3 version goes for 😅 I agree with you about the price of physical media maintaining its value more these days. A lot of PS5 stuff really does sit there and never really drop. Look at Returnal...
Alls i got to say about this video.... "O...K....Boomer!" This vid is the definition of what gen z is about with that phrase. Admition, I'm 43 and srarted playing with NES/SMS/Arcades. Games then were no harder than the hard games today. Different, but not harder. Less info to learn, more wrestling with wonky controls. Very few games then actually needed "guides," imagine playing these games today without any sort of guidance through tutorials and watching others play on net and learning from them? There was a lot of learning off eachother in the arcades mind you. Imo, overall, the games were perfect for the times, back then you needed way less info, word of mouth and trial and error were often enough, today, you NEED tutorials and guidance as the games are far more complex when playing at a high/tournament level. The modern gaming developers have done a great job, for the most part, of catering to ALL gamer archetypes. In the 80s/90s there were times where youd get a game with certain expectations, whether it be casual play or looking for a challenge, and be thoroughly disappointed. Hard and easy modes exist for exactly this reason. Accessibility. If a game has a "hard mode" and you didn't beat the "hard mode," I'm of the opinion, you didn't "beat the game," rather you "beat the mode."
Hello, fellow boomer. You're right! Games were very different back when we were younger. But I do like the accessibility these days. I'm not a gatekeeper. To me, beating a game is playing all the way through the campaign on any difficulty that the developers provide and in the manner they intended. For example, Hades requires you to beat the game 10 times to see the ending. I would consider that beating the game
This series of videos is always fun to watch. Torna got a reprint from video games plus, that probably killed the price.
Kickle Cubicle was one of my FAVORITE games of my childhood. I played that game for many, many, many hours. 😅
Really!?! I haven't played it yet, but you have me super pumped for it
Kickle Cubicle is one of my favorite NES games from my early childhood. I really felt like a genius as a little kid solving the puzzles. I should try it now and see how it aged.
Thanks for sharing. I'm pumped to try it, too. Maybe it'll make me feel smarter 😅
Hey man you didn't do too bad!! It is so hard to predict which games will go up in value and which will not
You're not wrong! But you still have to try!!!

That's good to know! Luckily, it'll sit on the shelf for another 10 years until it gets picked randomly 😅
Armada on Dreamcast might be of interest. It's kind of an RPG Shootemup.
I've played the crap out of Armada! I spent a whole summer with it when I was in high school. I've wanted to play it again for years
Awesome stuff as always buddy i been looking forward to this hahaha. This series is awesome :) You did really well on the profit buddy.

@@RNGGamerYT I will try it out on emulator buddy im not paying for it hahaha. So bad it's good is my jam ;)
Torna the Golden Country got 2 reprints this year. As long as it doesnt get more, I exoect the price to go back up eventually.
I knew it must have! Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
I'm on my way to GA to meet you right now🎉🎉🎉
I could say the same thing about you!
Awesome stuff as always 👏 👍 👌
I appreciate that!
Being a collector is break even a lot of the time even though we think we’re ripping it up!
Oh! It's definitely break even monetarily wise. But at least you get to have fun while you're doing it
Awesome video man! Kickle Cubicle is a fun one, good pick up either way. I’m with ya on a RPG Shoot em Up, that’s too bad Sigma Star Saga didn’t hit the mark!

I was bummed about sigma star saga for sure. Maybe someone will nail the concept one day
cool stuff! went to pick a copy of pno3 straight, still quite cheap in UK :D
That's awesome! Hopefully, you'll like it. Let me know what I was doing wrong.
