Ryan waste played a black strat for ages as well in MW, land phil still plays a fender bass to this day. They're comfy well built workhorses. Personally, I'd never fuck with the pointy uncomfortable guitars.
Ultimately the guitar is a tool to do the job. I can use a spoon instead of a knife to make a PB&J. When all is said and done, in the end... I still have a PB&J.
