For those that are b*tching that Diablo still didn't have an appearence on D4, here a little story recap: Mephi is the mastermind behind the events of D1 and D2, all three primes were captured and imprisoned, yet Mephisto was the one that was able to free himself and also corrupting the Zakarum. Mephisto was the one who sent Lazarus to free Diablo (D1), and the one ordering him to free Baal (D2). Baal corrupting the worldstone (D2 LoD) was also plan of Mephisto. Baal was freed from Diablo. And it was Baal's idea to infect the Worldstone. Mephisto is not the only one who can corrupt, he is the smartest of the 3 great evils, but not the sole decider. If Mephisto was behind EVERYTHING, the game wouldn't be called ‘Diablo’ ^^ Mephisto would also have become the supreme evil in D3 and not Diablo.

The fact that you describe Dia as "brash" shows how little understanding of the characters you actually have. Dia is the opposite of "brash" - he was described multiple times as the "most patient and farsighted" of the three, and the most dangerous. Book of Cain, Book of Tyrael, Book of Lorath, all of of those say the same thing. Also, all of the events in D1 and D2 and mephs entire scheme was part of Dias larger plan for D3. He assigned Adria to "mark" Meph and the others after their defeat, as well as himself, so that he could absorb their essence and become the singular Prime.
@@HeavyCavalryArcher Just stop spreading your small-minded rubbish that doesn't correspond to the lore, atstonsten give your sources and references. Because until then you are the one who should read and understand before writing rubbish. @@BoKWaa It's ironic that in Diablo lore throughout the games since probably Diablo 2 or so, Angels can either die permanently, or turned into human mortals or even turned into demons, yet there's no demons that turned into angels or just die permanently The level of disadvantages are so stupidly wide that you might as well call them bad writing and directing from the sheer level of grimdark cynicism, might as well also put high heavens destroyed by this point, knowing that there's no invasion of hells that permanently reshaped or reducing them by angels, all while demons able to easily exploiting things easily to invade heavens in Diablo 3
@@ohamatchhams The fact that the angels can die whereas demons are reborn isn't really a disadvantage. People are so mad against storytelling and worldbuilding it's fucking annoying. They all want the bad guys to show up in one shot and after they'll ask "what happens next Blizzard, we want more". I personnality LOVE this ending. Mephisto will do more damage to Sanctuary in this form than his brother before. People will see Akarat reborn and they will all follow him. The Cathedral will fall.
not to mention the fact that not showing a prime evil (literally the equivalent of the fucking princes of hell) since the beginning, makes them way more intimidating and mysterious, and this is the best thing that diablo 4 did. mephisto in this game is intimidating mostly because you just see his herald and he keeps getting mentioned, but you really don't actually get to see him and yet you can see his influence without his physical presence, and we can kinda say the same with the other 2 prime evils
Every single story to every single game in Diablo has always led to the same revelation that the player was following the Prime Evils' plan all along. Just once, it would be great if we could finally see an Uno Reverse Card that makes THEM screw up instead of humans or angels.
I mean we always have ended up defeating them. If we win immediately against the prime evils then it’s kind of boring. Also one of my biggest issues with the series is that prime evils have never felt like PRIME EVILS. Them finally instilling that is something I’m excited for.

It is hilarious, really blizzard entire expansion was just a prologue . It is a new level of greed really. I mena the main game felt like a prologue after Mephisto escaped Hell . And I really hoped that this expansion will be similar to well Lord of Destruction expansion where we will fight and defeat prime evil but noo entire year and they sold to us a prologue f**k.
As I only play this game for the story, I think it's a bit not worth. Before buying this DLC, I had actually expected that Neyrelle would not be as traitorous as those who had taken the soul stone before. I also expected that Mephis would only show up to show how to make various "deceptions" in order to resurrect the soul, and there would definitely be no chance to fight Mephis, I even thought that the game should also explain how Mephis resurrected his two brothers, but it's not happening, it just said that Mephis was resurrected. . . In other words, I originally thought there were only two DLCs, but it is possible to create 3-4 DLCs to make money. The first one is about Mephis borrowing the corpse to bring back the soul, the second is about how Mephis brings out the two brothers, and the third is about fighting the three demon kings... . .
Still too good, I think next dlc will be lord of hatred, then vessel of destruction, Lord of destruction, vessel of terror, Lord of terror. So yeah, something like this
I’ve come to accept that Mephisto is the embodiment of everything evil. I love and hate that the game is making me that we actually lost. No matter what we have done up to this point. He just comes out on top. And the heavens are at this point just an embarrassment. A mere human is fighting and holding the chaos while they are just all up in their feels. Drives me crazy this game. When we do finally fight the real Mephisto I’m expecting to struggle to remove him. And if the game makes a way to actually kill him and stay killed it better be epic
Heaven doesn't care about humans in this story. Never did. Only Tyrael cares. And he's not there anymore. Heaven would do more damage to sanctuary right now . Then hell is . Because heaven would destroy sanctuary. Hell would corrupt it
they kinda retcon/expand it. Akarat was dead but not that kind of dead, his spirit becomes denizen of the spirit realm because he lived a life attuned to the spirit world (aka Avatar The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra types) while his body was protected in the Vault of Light which was built by his disciples long ago (kinda like moving Jesus into the Cave for him to resurrect).
Time to make Diablo 1 rebirth. Mephisto help to release Diablo then Baal to be the first smash to the ground at the end of the next expansion by the UPCOMING NEW CLASS : PALADIN
Given how plan of sealing him with Akarat could have worked, we need to find similar vault, beat Meph into the Soulstone again and lock him with Auriel. He will enjoy it, but hey, as long as it works😀
+ Amazons. The plot itself is too big for Amazons not to take revenge for literally destroying the entire Skovos Islands. Diablo did this in D1 and we never had the chance since then to learn something new from house of Amazons and what happened to them besides that most of them are dead.
lets see, akarat sounds a lot like "a Christ", his spirit form is a lion who is also Narnian Christ, was betrayed a follower who commited suicide later, his words twisted through generations to justify atrocities, his enemy is in the form of a wolf hunting his flock, has a decieving evil copycat...
He was hinted to be Diablo's version of Christ: He was an ascetic who travels between cities, heard the Light through an angel name Yaerius (sound like Jesus), he has 6 disciples (one of them was a trader and another was a fisherman), his teaching was the foundation of the Zakarum's church which was the official religion of the west continent, he battle the Prime Evil, then got himself carried into a tomb which somehow resurrect himself in the spirit world. The Zakarum faith was the driving will of the Crusaders/Paladin to purge all the evils and pagan religion on the Sanctuary. Yeah, he's literally Jesus
God damn so this is Diablo version of the antiichrist after Jesus the lion akarat sacrifice. O_O So Lillith The Wolf, Mephistos shadow thing, so he also said his brothers are coming. O_O Next DLC gon be fight Mephistos Antichrist, then Biggest Mephisto ever, then Diablo and baal´s true forms. God damn they are cooking. let them cook lol 😂 😂

@@cradlis3456WoW expansions at least tbf tell a self contained story generally. This feels like a story that was awkwardly , and intentionally, chopped up into pieces to repackage and sell it back to us
Awesome cinematic, but this should have been like act I out of four acts in this expansion, not the ending. Beautiful region and soundtrack, cool ideas and art design but too short. Urivar was also underused as a villain, just like Elias, Lillith, Inarius and Rathma. Hopefully this improves because the visuals and art are incredible.
Except we didn't. He was possessing the body of Sankekur, twisted as it was. Kinda like how Baal still looked like a mummified Tal Rasha with tentacles at that point. Only Diablo took his true form at that point. When we fought Mephisto, he had reached through the stone, overwhelmed the greatest wards that the entire Zacharum courts could muster, an entire temple city's worth, infected the minds of everyone in Travincal and most of Kurast, twisted the jungle itself into a jungle hell that swept in and crushed most of Kurast, sent Lazarus to Tristram to free Diablo and bring him back, built a gateway that could overwhelm the Worldstone's barriers and tear a portal into the Burning Hells, conducted the ritual to open it and keep us occupied long enough for Baal to be long gone, setting in motion his ultimate gambit. To still have juice left to fight us after that, he had incredible power. The thing that people often miss is just how quickly things went as bad as they did in Kurast. Yes, the descent into madness and paranoia by the Zakarum took decades, but the actual destruction of the city took just a couple of years. That's why Meshif and Decard Kain are both shocked and appalled at the state of Kurast, both having seen it not that long ago in a much better state. The other, easily overlooked fact is that in Diablo 2, the entire jungle expanse you go through is supposed to be an enormous city. The docks were part of Kurast itself, and the ruins you see all through the jungle are all that remains. All of that was conquered and completely ruined by Mephisto's power, while he was still in the stone.
@@ResidentWeevil82So it only took a small amount of time for Kurast to become a jungle due to Mephistos power? And they say Diablo is a better manipulator. Mephisto for me has always been the most dangerous to go against. The guy basically orchestrated pretty much everything since the dark days of Tristram. I know that people love to say that big D himself was the big baddie because of planning becoming the PE. But you have to acknowledge the fact that he wouldn't be able to achieve that without Mephistos brilliance.
Mephisto was always the strongest manipulator in lore. Diablo was the most balanced between cunning and brutally strong and Baal was always the most brute force strong of the Three. The most terrifying and overlooked part of Mephisto's power is the way that he works. Diablo would pound at the minds of those who oppose him, bullying and wearing them down, and is good at that, but Mephisto can weave a plot that makes one think that they came up with the idea themselves and either have no choice or, as is most often the case, that they're righteous in "choosing" exactly what he was trying to get them to do. The Dark Exile was a perfect example of this, convincing the Lesser Evils that the Prime Evils' obsessions with Sanctuary was a liability and that they were weak after voluntarily leaving in the wake of the accord with the High Heavens. He knew that they would band together and exile the Primes as their incorporeal essences, which was actually what he wanted them to do. They were now able to take possession of temporary hosts and draw attention to themselves right as Izual helped to mobilise the next step of the plan; giving Tyrael the Soulstones and letting him "figure out" that trapping the Three in them would prevent them from simply reforming in the Abyss. What Tyrael didn't know was that Mephisto had extracted information on how to not just corrupt the Stones into imperfect prisons, but to also make them a vector that can infect anyone or thing they touch. Any mortals handling the Stones would be corrupted and their corrupting touch can be spread to the Worldstone that they were hewn from. He also worked to convince the mortals resisting him that pious and righteous faith in the Light can actually hold them at bay, the stronger, the better. This was the lynchpin in their trap. The mortals would face them, aided by Tyrael, trap their essences in the Stones, and then powerful forces would gather to guard them. The Horadrim seemed to have figured this out and tried to isolate Diablo and Baal, though Tal Rasha did believe that his righteous purity would complete the trap for Baal after the Lord of Destruction, true to form, shattered his Soulstone. The Zakarumites, on the other hand, played right into Mephisto's hands. They buried him under the Tower of Judgement in Travincal, basically underneath all of the most powerful priests, warriors, their retinues of troops and right near a city of millions. This gave him a powerful force that could be seeded with paranoia and hatred, and convinced to war with any and all viable opposition, in the name of spreading their Word of Light. The rest, we know how that went when the time came, but you can see how every major event boils down to Mephisto scheming, and others thinking they have brilliant ideas that are actually what he wants. All the events of Diablo, Diablo 2 and Diablo 4 are his doing. And he has cunningly set things up where his major opposition is gone. He made Inarius mad and paranoid, then let him go. Inarius predictably attacked Rathma, who had a habit of being aloof, powerful as he was. He pitted Lilith against Inarius, and the latter predictably went after her, got stomped, then she went after Mephisto to get eliminated. His demons allowed Prava and a few choice soldiers from the Church of Light's army to go, which let him seed one of the most powerful forces in Sanctuary with his paranoid and hateful touch. He manipulated things so that Akarat would be drawn out and made to sacrifice himself, but also allowing Mephisto to take his body, which would have dire consequences. Basically, it would be like Jesus showing up, with the Devil at the wheel. Oh sure, *some* would see through it, but most of the world's faithful, especially those who have searched for centuries for him, would fall right for it. He has also been able to breach the Spirit Realm, and yes, he bargained to keep it safe for now, we know damned well that he likely won't leave it be forever. Right now, the only major rivals I can see are the High Heavens, who have sealed themselves off, Tyrael, who is a mortal now, and the elusive Trag'Oul, who has always stayed out of most things, except to enlighten and empower Rathma. Either way, the other Primes returning is going to be horrendously bad, but Mephisto will forever remain the greater threat, with his inscrutable and seemingly inevitable plans.

I'd imagine Diablo 4's business plan was likely laid out long before it was actually sold on day 1. The problem with this is that before games were driven on gameplay and merit in order to build success, and business. Now the business drives the gameplay and sales are built on deception and marketing gimmicks. Its no longer is this game actually good but rather if its status can be milked to trick people into superficially thinking its good.
The story is cool in concept but them effectively blueballing us with Mephisto, basically the main thing they advertised & insinuated with this DLC, and making people wait for another 40-60$ DLC is *insulting* I mean, imagine if this was a *free update* and THEN you had to wait to buy the DLC/Expansion that actually covers what happens after this cliffhanger. Not only would that have been healthier for the game, but it would have honestly just been a better long-term business strategy as people would be WAY more forgiving for the faults of this DLC (as it would be a free update), they would be able to look at what people liked/disliked and fixed it for the DLC proper and people would generally be more willing to shelve out money to see the conclusion after a sizeable chunk of free content. Instead we have a playerbase that just burned a bunch of money just to get even more of what they alredy had in the base game: *awesome concepts with mediocre execution* , except now coupled with a feeling of being taken advantage of. PS: I am willing to bet that all the problems with this DLC come from the fact that it was most likely chopped up into pieces in order to repackage it and sell it to us as separate expansions.
I hoped we will kill her in this expansion, as she was so annoying in the base game. Well, I won't be playing the next expansion, just like I won't waste my time and money on this one (a video on RUclips was enough).

He assigned Adria to "mark" Meph and the others after their defeat, as well as himself, so that he could absorb their essence and become the singular Prime.

not to mention the fact that not showing a prime evil (literally the equivalent of the fucking princes of hell) since the beginning, makes them way more intimidating and mysterious, and this is the best thing that diablo 4 did.
mephisto in this game is intimidating mostly because you just see his herald and he keeps getting mentioned, but you really don't actually get to see him and yet you can see his influence without his physical presence, and we can kinda say the same with the other 2 prime evils

You expected something good from Blizzard after 2019?
go play diablo2 forget this juden live service goyslop
The first one is about Mephis borrowing the corpse to bring back the soul, the second is about how Mephis brings out the two brothers, and the third is about fighting the three demon kings... . .
Still too good,
I think next dlc will be lord of hatred, then vessel of destruction, Lord of destruction, vessel of terror, Lord of terror.

And I thought that Akarat was from long time ago? How is he alive?
they kinda retcon/expand it.

So the whole dlc is not even giving us a mephisto fight?
also weird how in d2 we beat his ass in his true form but here we have issues
The issue is, your credit card goes "brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"
@@ResidentWeevil82or a simpler explanation, it’s because in D2 is actually a group of giga powerful heroes fighting against the devils, in D3 is only one character but he’s a nephalem and probably the strongest being in the diablo universe other than anu and tathamet, the D4 wanderer doesn’t seem to be that strong, even mephisto said in the expansion that the wanderer won’t be able to stop them when diablo and baal come (or maybe that was just to scare him)

Honestly i love this art style of diablo4 , if they remove none sense fat druids and ugly characters face , i will pay for dlc.
And angel of justice don't need human face , or just give him a unrealistic white prince face .
Ahhh I'm glad I didn't waste $60 on the expansion... You beat mephisto then akarat gets taken over by mephisto and now In the next expansion we will have to fight him again 😂.
Atleast with lilith we beat her she technically didn't die she just got sent back to hell to basically reform and rebuild that's why her story is so much better.
Oh look we beat mephisto think again he's taken over akarat now and we gotta fight him yet again in the next expansion and waste $60 to basically fight another form of him 😂come on blizzard I thought with Bobby gone from being the head of blizzard we wouldnt get more scammed but clearly not 😢
Such a disappointment. Vessel of hatred the side quest.
@@wizard_of_the_west8270 when i finish the main storyline, i kinda question myself, so it's ended? really? so easy and so fast?
I'd imagine Diablo 4's business plan was likely laid out long before it was actually sold on day 1. The problem with this is that before games were driven on gameplay and merit in order to build success, and business. Now the business drives the gameplay and sales are built on deception and marketing gimmicks. Its no longer is this game actually good but rather if its status can be milked to trick people into superficially thinking its good.
@@krel3358exactly. just like on wow iirc they have the next 10 years planned already.
blizzard fans are the biggest turds. buying expac for the lore, ig? shit makes no sense. lilith's story is better because it is complete. this isn't.
it was either this or going to Shelby's I picked .....
so Mep is the new oil man?
will lilith remain evil.
finally lilith will be back to save the whole santuary
or where is tyrael.
So main story had open ending and now DLC have also open ending
The story is cool in concept but them effectively blueballing us with Mephisto, basically the main thing they advertised & insinuated with this DLC, and making people wait for another 40-60$ DLC is *insulting*
I mean, imagine if this was a *free update* and THEN you had to wait to buy the DLC/Expansion that actually covers what happens after this cliffhanger.
PS:
I am willing to bet that all the problems with this DLC come from the fact that it was most likely chopped up into pieces in order to repackage it and sell it to us as separate expansions.
Mephesus = Mephisto + Jesus
I really thought that Neyrelle gonna stab herself with soulstone to end it all and boi I was wrong.
I hoped we will kill her in this expansion, as she was so annoying in the base game. Well, I won't be playing the next expansion, just like I won't waste my time and money on this one (a video on RUclips was enough).
The first one is about Mephis borrowing the corpse to bring back the soul, the second is about how Mephis brings out the two brothers, and the third is about fighting the three demon kings... . .
Could that be the beginning of Diablo 5?
So Akarat rises as the false prophet, people follow him. Cathedral is destroyed. He finds a way to find his brothers and all hell breaks loose again. Our hero resurrects Lilith and is killed by her. A fitting end to a predictable disaster
PALADIN incoming :)
😮😮 hype
Edward Fall
Do not mock my best friend Jesus Christ
The Jesus BBEG premise looks cool, but not at expense of a lame and linear expansion with the feeling of acomplishing nothing
Would be better mephisto 1 game
Surprised they didnt set this to baby music like that one trash trailer
so bad. boring ass dog fight. no meph fight. dont even see meph in his true form...just jesus meph. beyond disappointed. we are being milked.
im happy that i did not buy this trashy dlc 😂😂😂. money saved
When you think the bad act 1 just ended and you're going for act 2 who look awesome. And nothing happen except the game credits start.😑 - did i just buy a 70$ dlc for a crap campaign who was gonna be interresting in the end but was over. I WANTED TO FIGHT EVIL JESUS.
Thats jesus
This cinematic is cool
The story and how we got to this point. .. made no sense at all lmao. Super rushed story
Is there any point to any of this? Like, Diablo just keeps coming back.
Essentially that’s just the core of the game, the eternal conflict
that's the thing... our power was basically nerfed after we permanently killed a demon, the son of Mephisto 'Lucion'. both sides decided we were too strong 😁
Vessel of Microtransactions!
for cosmetics?
Where is mephisto guys, We constantly see an archdemon doing voice-overs in other bodies. Nonsense.
Yea no... I'm no longer investing into this hamster wheel of a plot
