Everyone should have a mate who they can rely on when the chips are down, glad you've got a mate who has your back and you had his when he needed you. I lost my best mate to cancer and life has never been the same since, I look out for his wife and help her whenever I can, he made me promise to do that when he knew what way it was going. He didn't have to ask I would have done it anyway. All the best Baz, you're a good man.
Baz, as a fellow mechanic myself can I just say that I have learnt absolutely loads from yourself and your real life "hacks" I used the Allen key in the flywheel trick and saved so much time and worked effortlessly. Massive respect here👍
I use Elbow Grease in the kitchen. Never knew it was a garage tool. What sort of mileage of that car? Seems a lot of work. Minis seem to be a big pain in the rear end. I'll stick with with my 150 TDCi Ford. You certainly would put anyone off buying a Mini diesel.
Hi Baz, I'm into my apprenticeship at the moment , learning plenty from you, but just wondering, when you clean the injector bores, do you have to worry about all the gunk going down in on the cylinder or does it not really matter? Asking for myself for future jobs
Have a similar kit for doing injector bores, do you use the little plugs to stop debris dropping into the cylinder ? Not sure I trust the lip on them to not have that drop in 😱
Normally there is a long rod in the kit, with thread in the plug and rod, so you can test to find out if the plug fits in the bore hole. If it fits, remove the rod and start cleaning. I diy injectors, the kit is really helpful to avoid crap falling in,and to clean the surface to have a good seal for the copper washer.
Hi baz, I actually also did the injector seals yesterday on the fiat punto for my brother in law. Also use such a cleaning kit. But I find that the bronze wire brushes are to soft for the build up carbon on the side off the injector holes. What do you use for to tackle this? Thanks Dieter
Good to see someone paying back even if it is your mate!! Tempted to drop the transit in for a service and check over, you're only down the road but probably got a waiting list as long as your arm!!!! Keep up the great videos!
Fair play for helping out a mate like that, and yeah it probably was patched up for the sale, either that or your mate knew he had a mate called Baz! 🤣As always good job again!

Hi Baz 😊 great helping a friend and a superb 👌🏼 fix
Top job baz , well done for helping your mate out ! 👍
Suggest some early oil changes\flushes and coolant as that was pretty filthy for car of that age.
Top man mate, total respect for helping your mate. 😊
Good lad for putting the rest day in to help your mate out Baz 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
great job baz and always good helping a mate out who has helped you before!!!!
That Elbow Grease is the best thing since Sliced Bread 😂 it's so good on everything you can use it on 😮 nice video 👍
Always nice to see a guy that knows his true mates and repays a few favours.
I'd love a mate like you, as my Dad used to say 'lend me ten pence I want to call a friend, here's twenty call them all'

Modern diesels, one step forward two steps back…..
Liking that All-Data software 👌
Yea it is good but a few cars I've come across it doesn't cover
Forte do a wicked spray to soften the hard carbon around injectors....
There is a place in heaven for you and your mate.

Timing chains are a bugger for jumping a tooth or two on these engines but I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know 👍
Top work mate absolute gent 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Good video as always! How did you start / bleed it there? Would you not be afraid of damaging the starter turning it over that long?
Not at all, biggest fear wa stage battery letting me down
Mr. Muscle Oven cleaner is another good option for softening carbon
Try pour some Coca Cola on the dried up carbon and it’ll decarbonise

@@GCarTube some can't be helped dropping down. Try and avoid it by cleaning as much as possible before you remove the injector

When cleaning the ports do you need to put plugs in the injector ports? To stop the dirt going in the cylinders?
@@davem4131 ideally yes it reduces the risk of bits of carbon dropping in

Dont buy a mini diesel - dont buy a mini full stop.
Their owners are not car people. Looked after by awful owners and techs.
