The Original feels like someone screaming out of frustration they can’t find a way out and is questioning out of anger why no one is trying to save them.
This feels more like a desperate call for help, as if tearfully requesting someone to save them
I think he's speaking to Christ, this reminds me of the pain of a Christian seeing the agony in this world and praying.
Maybe that's just my take because I can relate.

Fits the song a bit more in my opinion honestly given it's about being at the edge of falling off and losing yourself to your inner demons and just screaming out for help. It seems like this really is the last hope and the singer is just in pure disbelief with everyone walking by

It reminds me of some of Disciple’s acoustic versions of their songs like After the World. Very good!
It's only relax because it not so "rock". But it is that very reason it's so much more intense. You aren't distract but the music, on the voice, the message, the pain so many are in today. I think it's as good as the first if not better
Skillet are so versatile they can do gentle relaxing and hard blood pumping action when it calls for it. They sound like different band sometimes. In a good way.
Listen to both versions of "The Drug in Me is You" by Falling in Reverse and you will get the same feeling

I loooove the original versions, the overall sound is just fantastic. But this version? It took me a bit to pin down the best descriptor for it but I'd say it sounds haunting. I can't decide if I like this or the original better!

I am blown away! The rock version of Save Me is really good, and captures the fact that no matter how far down in the dumps we are, no matter how depressed or unhappy we are, there is hope that our lives can be turned around. It's a hopeful anthem. (I mean, it is in an album titled, Victorious) This reimagined version though... I was so impressed! This version of Save Me captures the pain that some people face. This version is more a cry for help than a hopeful anthem. This is why Skillet is my favorite band! John, Korey, Jen, Seth, love you guys!

The piano melody that's panned on the right during the chorus gives freaking goosebumps!
As much as I love the way the band's career has turned out to be these last years, there's a part of me that kind of longs for music such as this version. More Korey playing piano/keyboard, maybe some vocals by Seth (he can't hide that he's got a nice voice anymore), and maybe a song (it doesn't need to be a single) in which only Jen and Korey sing? John could play drums in said song, since he's a cool drummer too.

I really like this version, it's much much darker, macabre really. Feels more real.
The other version makes it feel like there is hope, as where this version makes it feel like I'm still gone and I lose the fight, which is reality in most cases.
