That was so sweet. I just don't get how people can find something so small cute and fluffy disgusting or scary. That was obviously a very healthy little mouse. Beautiful coat, bright beady eyes. Perfect. 😍😍

Soooo cute the little thing... I saw 2 in my back yard often. They came to eat left over oatmeal that I gave to a wild rabbit who live here my yard. They all adorable 😍

Such a precious, beautiful little creature. How on earth did you spot it in order to film? Did you find its hole or was it just luck of noticing it?

you can hear them in the leaves and if you still long enough, you'll notice them though it is rare to observe them in daylight. Early morning is best! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Excellent footage, and great choice not using any soundtrack to emphasize the quietness of that mouse!

+Michael Vuong Thanks Michael... ya, the only part of the recording I didn't like was the jet flying overhead :) I know that people like nature sounds and this time of year, the birds are singing their territorial songs and the woodpeckers are claiming territory with their drummings.. :)

I think I just saw one in my garage. Are they also referred to as Voles? We live in Southern Maine.
I almost stepped on him. He was not frightened of me at all. He even walked up to my boots. I was hoping he wouldn’t crawl up my leg 😬. He wandered away to another location in the garage.

Hi Mary Beth, voles are completely separate and are very dark, gray mostly. The Deer mouse has larger eyes and a white underbelly with a much longer tail. :)

Please never use glue traps to control rodents! They are cruel and the animal suffers death by starvation!

What do you suggest for getting rid of deer mice without harm? Just moved into a home that's totally infested with them. They're definitely adorable and we tried catch and release, but doesn't seem to do much good and we still find mouse droppings in the strangest places. We read that if you release them too far away they die. If you release them too close they just come back. We've tried peppermint in the attics (we have a cat so can't have it everywhere), cayenne on the stove (they sometimes walk around it) and noise repellers. We're still trying to find all the holes they come through, but that could take a while. Other suggestions?

This is my favorite trapping system, then I suggest you donate the mice to raptor recovery or wildlife recovery centers. ruclips.net/video/iQ2j46fPWQo/видео.html

@@FrederickDunn Thanks so much. Yeah, that's exactly the type of traps we were using. We accidentally discovered that Stella & Chewey's cat treats are so irresistible that they were biting holes into the bag. So that became our go-to debate. But since they seemed to be just coming back, we kind of put the program on hold. Hadn't thought of a raptor recovery or wildlife recovery center. That may be the ticket. Will look into that.

    • @FrederickDunn

Sticky traps shouldn't be sold in my opinion. A terrible way to go. Deer Mice feed a wide range of predators, they are truly critical in the eco-system. Thanks for commenting.

My little terrier(s)-one died. Dig them up in the yard. Terrier breeds are great at this. Terra= Earth...Terr(ier). Not only digging them up, but sniffing out ground entry points It truly is a waste of money calling pest control to get rid of them because they eat nuts, seeds, bark, plants, the husk on plants etc. They burrow. Excellent climbers, up brick, trees. Jump from branches hanging over your roof, right into your home. Once they infest your home if you dont seal entry holes and make sure their piss and poo runs in your home are dealt with often-- and stay on top of that, it's a wrap! And there is nothing CUTE about them at that point.
