Hi Andrew, I love how you figure things out and even customize stuff to make it work better. You have very good all around knowledge Andrew, love what you figure out and come up with. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Thanks, I love tinkering
Great video. Thanks for sharing. It brought back memories of my thirty plus years of burning wood for heat. Take care and God Bless.
Glad you enjoyed it
Dude, much respect for the way you go about tasks. I really appreciate people who take the extra time to do things the right way. You and your wife seem like lovely people.
For a guy like me, with limited time and money, the information you provide is really of very little use.
Best wishes.
I appreciate that! Glad you enjoy the content.
At first I was split on the pump upgrade but now I'm pumped.... :-)
Lol
Hi, Andrew! Excellent review! I get excited about cutting and splitting logs. I love the cracking sound the wood makes when it splits. I’m crazy like that!!!😂
Thanks for watching! Alot more coming as we burn fires all the time.
Very good results with the single wedge for sure.. can't wait to see the 4 way testing..
Coming soon
Thanks for the video I love the cycle time.
Thanks for watching!
wow i thought you sent that one back! very cool!
Nope still doing a demo on it! Now I absolutely love it!
@@TKCL that is awsome cant wait to see what comeing!
Great review...glad it performed like you hoped it would.
Thanks for watching!
Great review! Just because you put a huge pump on doesn't mean you can move mountains. It just means more efficiency
You are correct
Fast af boyyyy. Lol. Thats awesome!!
You know it!
Fun video to watch! I miss cutting firewood.
I love it!
That thing is fast enough now for a conveyor setup. Super improvement in cycle time. Not sure of the cost difference but seems like it would be well worth it for the time savings!
Totally agree! A conveyor would be a perfect setup and highly productive.
Hmmm 🤔 I need to make another trip and try this 3pt splitter. Better then hand splitting is LoL. That was really quick cycle time 🤘🏽
You should! It will be here waiting for you.
Great review video. 😊
Thanks for watching
Sweet upgrade!
I think so too!
That looks like it will be much faster splitting that hardwood. Good call.
It sure is
First
Edit: Nice to see this. I have an old tractor and want to try one of these PTO pumps in the future. I like the lower RPM capability as my tractor is annoying when revved up.
You got it! That's a big benefit.
Even though I don't care for the tractor powered splitters, they have their uses and I have to say that those results were dang impressive!
I agree with you
Just wondering if you have thought about using the animal with the 4 or 6 way installed splitting the big stuff into pieces, and then using the tractor driven on right next to it to split into smaller pieces. With you running one splitter and Tiffany running the other, you could really churn out some wood!
That would be crazy fast, we would technically need 3-4 people to make that work. One needs to be stacking and one moving wood over.
Is that red tank your ethanol free fuel tank you were talking about getting. Nice to see the pump work on the smaller tractor too
Yes it is, the company finally got a smaller tank in. Now I have 93 non ethanol for all my outdoor equipment and generators.
So neat to watch how you customize everything. Is there anything you can't do?
Sure! But it won't stop me if I really want to know 😉
When are you going to get both splitters running at the same time? Have one splitter with a 4 way out feeding to a second splitter that is taking those quarter pieces and breaking them down into the smaller pieces that you like. Would be interested to see what you and Tiffany would think about that kind of production line!
I'll need a conveyor system for that kind if production. Maybe one day!
I need that machine for a weekend or two lol. May have to rent a splitter once I’m ready for it.
You could knock out a pile of wood in a weekend with this.
It will be very interesting when you put a 4 way splitter on. I suspect your small tractor will be able to easily handle it but there may be a little noise change i n the tractor when the oak hits the 4 way blade. But i must say that splitter is pretty impressive just as it is.
I think so too, but I suspect no issues and greater production.
Yes and this would be great to go out into the woods and split it up as you fall it in tight places ❣️
Oh yes!
Who laughs while splitting wood? Andrew in the Chop Shop with a CLS that's who LOL
I love machines!
Nice
You are safety savvy guy, always be conscious of right hand pinch points.
I am, camera anglesake things appear as they are not.
That's a souped up splitter, time for a splitting derby 😅
Right on!
You should make a sleeve to install on your hydraulic shaft so that it does not return all the way since you cut your firewood at a shorter length. That would also speed up your cycle time….
Correct and a future project although this is already about as fast as I can handle.
It would have interested to see the outcome as to when tractor is idling at 500, 750, 1000, 1250, & 1500 rpm as well. Could there have been a greater fuel savings and still maintain a high split rate also? Can you give it a try???
Sure thing, a possible future video.
@@TKCLlooking forward to seeing it.
What will running a higher than recommended hydraulic pump on this tractor do to the warranty?
Zero, the only concern was the tractor bogging down during the split. I am experiencing zero bog, actually my tiller, mowers and other equipment put far more strain on the tractor than this pump.
Hey, when you building a fuel barn?
Soon!
How much does that splitter cost?
I don't know since I am demoing it. Contact Mr Larry for all the options and a quote. Mention our channel for a discount, his contact info is in the video description.
Always wonder why they don’t make a stroke limiter for these high end machines? That could cut seconds off in itself.
It is available, I'll be adding one eventually speeding it up more. Not that I really need it faster than 6 seconds. You eventually reach a point it isn't safe anymore.
@@TKCL yes but stopping the ram short doesn’t increase the speed just decreases the distance.
I wonder why no one ever gets that option? Is it expensive?
@@tpctrash decreasing front depth stroke is the worst possible way to reduce cycle time. Stringy wood needs a full split. Back stroke is where your reduce cycle time as most splitters have a 24 to 32 inch stroke. Most firewood splits are 16-18 inches.
@@TKCL I’m not saying the end of the stroke. Where it starts. Just like the stroke limiter you made for your splitter. That was a great thing.
The push still ends at the wedge. Still get a full split.
👀👀
Hey Andrew. Do you have a private message? I've got a couple questions related to different videos of yours?
Can you shorten the stroke? It was way longer than the wood you were splitting
Yes you can, that will speed it up more..... Not that it needs it 😉
@@TKCLthe benefit of a shorter stroke would show up more when running the pto at a slower rpm
More Power Ar. Ar. Ar
It'd be nice if you had foot pedal controls! ( maybe not as safe 🤷♂️)
That's for a different style machine in my opinion.
@TKCL yeah, probably not the safest on that ol girl. Lol.
It’s too bad you couldn’t rig a foot peddle on that thing that would save you so much time reaching back going forward and backwards with your hand
It's already wicked fast, at a certain point you outrun yourself.
It is really much better, but I couldn't take my eyes off your hand between two wedges, God forbid your glove gets stuck to a piece of wood! Please take extra precaution when working with this new speed. Nag, nag..:)))
That's the beauty of a manually operated lever, as soon as I remove my hand the machine stops. The automatic portion is the return.
Hey Andrew really great upgrade. I sent you a email
I'll check in the morning, heading to bed.
