I feel like thornbite staff would perform better than pathway arrows because of the "whenever a creature is put into a graveyard from play, untap this creature". So as long as you have enough mana, you can completely wipe out the opponent's defenses in 1 turn, and piss them off even more.
And Vampire Nighthawk is already a Shaman! Another Shaman with deathtouch is Bitterheart Witch... gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=222205 gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=430767
Hey been playing the original build since it’s inception and over the years have been updating as I go. Turned into something quite different... 4 Defile 4 Desecration Demon 1 Drana, Liberator of Malakir 4 Gifted Aetherborn 2 Gray Merchant of Asphodel 2 Leaden Myr 2 Phylactery Lich 22 Swamp 2 Typhoid Rats 1 Underworld Connections 4 Unearth 4 Vampire Nighthawk 4 Vampire of the Dire Moon 4 Viridian Longbow PS longtime viewer just subscribed. So I built a deck based off this one and I recommend having both Viridian Long Bow and Thornbite Staff in it. Those two combined on a Death Touch Creature will allow you to wipe the board. Really easy to do if you have the right tutors. Like for example Shred Memory which allows me to tutor the majority of cards in my deck.
Just spent the past 2 weeks obtaining the cards for this deck, downside could not find a Grave Titan but I replaced it with Liliana Vess so far it has served me well thanks for the Deck build

i just wanted to say thankyou i built this deck with a few tweeks in the cards i traded paragon of open graves and a land for 2 more blood artists. This deck works it is so much fun it hold up and won 5 games against my $350.00 hand control deck this is amazing!!!! blew my mind how annoying this deck really is thank you again!!! Peace Love and Anal!!!
Red has a bunch of Auras that do the same thing. Of course auras are more risky than equipment because they die when the creature dies, but they cost much less mana. Arcane Teachings, Fire Whip, Hypervolt Grasp, Lightning Prowess, Power of Fire. There are several equipment, Pathway Arrows, Thornbite Staff, Viridian Longbow, Wolfhunter's Quiver.
never thought to create a black version of this deck. I created a similar simic version of this with some added flash. this one is nice and pretty cheap, and very easy to play
+David Chan I'm all about simplicity and budget with these deck tech vids. Cheap enough most anyone could piece together if they wanted and easy enough for a new player to pick up on rather quickly
That looks like a fun deck. I made a deck that felt like that (with no card in common!) a while back Crypt Rat x 4 Spirit Link x 4 and the game breaker card Lash Knife Barrier x 4 Back those up with Auramancer, and Gravedigger The point is that with Lash Knife Barrier in play you can ping 1 damage with a crypt rat - let it resolve - and do it again. I have a deck based around the same concept with death touch, viridian longbow, and lightning greaves for creature protection. Throw a couple opponent sacrifice creature cards in sideboard for those pesky indestructible or hexproof and that's my version. Love the concept and a blast to play! Great video! Keep em coming!
Another fun casual kitchen table deck. I've seen a similar concept except with creatures that "ping" and artifacts that would give em deathtouch(the reverse of what this deck does). I love these fun strats. Looks sweet once the deck gets humming!
I've made every deck tech that you have put on here, and I just made this one . I tried it out and it is really fun to play, another great Baller on a Budget
I bought this deck a week after upload. I managed to make 2 11 year old kids from my summer camp cry in frusturation. I ended up leaving grave titan out. Still works like a charm. I did replace grave titan with two acid spewer dragons, for price, and because they are flying deathtouch, so it is hard to counter when all of thier good creatures are dead. Also it helps make a gateway for you to tap all of the creatures you have out and ping all the opponents life away. I also added a cascading cataracts for fast mana collection.
I made this deck with Thornbite Staff and Pathway Arrows, and I brought it to StarCityGames regionals last weekend, I had never played modern before and I got totally destroyed, but I had a really fun time and my buddies are gonna hate playing this deck in casual. Fun factor: 10/10, efficiency 3/10. Would recommend.
An Unnamed Source i am doing the same actuly left and played around though sets to as far as new stuff check out vehicles from kehadesh (thats miss spelled sorry) and the afflict abulity from hour of devistation (the newest set) two of my most favorat things getting back in so far
did this with wizards! would cost 3 to cast, tap to deal 1 damage with no extra cost. Gorgons head gives them deathtouch and only costs 2 to equip. also can add Quietus Spike or Gideon, Martial Paragon(untap all creatures once per turn)
I just built this deck! So excited to try it out. Looks like it’s going to be fun and super annoying. Lol. Love your content man and the giveaways are awesome and so fun to watch! Keep it up! Fan for life. Lol.
Another crazy deck by bad boy mtg. After i started watching your videos and built the infect budget deck i won at least 2 fnms.I dont know how much to thank you my dude.Keep up the good work!!
That's awesome! You can thank me just by liking and sharing the videos, helps out a lot! Glad the infect deck kicked some azz, puts a smile on my face :)
My girlfriend uses that deck i work so much we cant got to fnm but she has been beating everone we know its amazing to see her eyes light up when she dilivers the killing blow to someone who has been playing magic for years and she has only been playing a few weeks
as for the replacement for malicious affliction, just switch those out for another 2 fatal pushes because that card is very strong. and for animate dead, if you really want animation spells, goryo's vengeance, however that card is not budget and the animated creature will just die end of turn if you plan on using them for more turns. If the reason for adding the animate deads were to get around removal, so you might as well just switch them with inquisition of kozileks so you can remove those removal spells from their hand
+Bad Boy MTG but another guy commented on here is actually right, regarding modern, this deck can get easily stomped over by the tier 1 decks like deaths shadow, affinity, company, and burn. I personally believe if people were to play combo decks, they should have control in their deck as a means of defense is their opponent tries to disrupt you. Probably would be interesting if blue was brought in so you can have access to spell pierce, remand, and mana leak and serum visions. probably drown in sorrow should be in sideboard for affinity and burn since they can go off. If people want to actually make this deck potentially playable in modern since that's what most of the viewers are considering, this may need to get tweaked with non budget cards since combo decks need responses to interact with disruption. Splinter twin did this when still in modern.
FINALLY! A deck to make me construct a black deck. I usually play all green or a B/G mix but never mono-black. This will be my next project. Thanks a ton!!!
I would love to see some modern budget Trolling decks that include some kind of ridiculous or tedious win condition for fun. Forcing an opponent playing a large board to constantly have to phase all of his cards in and out every turn, that can win eventually after your one phasing swamp mosquito lands his bite every other turn for example. ..Also, an affluent Troll deck build if you have spare Lich handy, I would love to see a Lich/Necropotence deck that can only lose by your opponent healing you to death. Heal me or slowly draw yourself. bubble matrix or recycling graveyard or COP
After reading the comments, some people like it and some people hate it, but the point of this deck is that it is fun to play and really nice for casual modern or just casual play. It is the true that the combo is a bit late, but the deathtouch one-drops keep away early attackers and then this deck get's pretty good. The point is, that with 40 dollars you can't get a tier 1/2 modern deck. This deck is perfect for starting or returning players and I really like the idea. I have a few suggestions for upgrades tho: replace the grave titan for a harvester of souls and also add a crypt ghast for a bit more mana to use for the combo. Also replace wrench mind by hymn to tourach and the arrows by thornbite staff. But this deck is a great one!
40$ or not it's a bad deck with sloppy dekcbuilding. As other people said he didn't even research better options from the "tap deal damage" artifacts sections(there are many sites that do that no need to know all the cards by heart) and said "I didn't know this card existed". As for the other aspect of the deck it has so many useless cards 3 tutors in a aggro gimmick deck? Really? And a torment of hailfire for good measure, because why not. Grave titan? Well it has deathtouch so why not. If he had replaced all those not only expensive, but useless cards for say some cheap discard, like duress or even good old mind rot it'd not only be better deck but might(big might) even steal a win from those tier 1-2 decks. + the deck price would go to like 20$
Awesome deck tech! Joey I'd really love to see you test out some of these budget decks at ur local FNM or even a match with a friend! Thanks! And keep up with the good stuff! :D
I've been looking for a way to play a sort of fighty control deck, and this is an awesome deck that I will definitely consider building soon! Thank you for sharing man!
One of my decks I miss the most was called "don't bully the black kid." I'm not sure what would have to be replaced to fit into modern typing but it was monoblack, mostly low cost cards and it all revolved around the 1 cost deathtouch weenie cards for a little deterrance while you bring out Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Ogre Slumlord, Falkenrath Nobles, etc. By turn 2-3 they don't want to kill any of your creatures because killing your creatures loses them more than they gain. Especially in multiplayer, by turn 4-5 no one can afford to let any of their creatures die because one sloppy combat results in their remaining board being wiped, a plague of deathtouch rats, and a big chunk of their health missing... Then you can either let my whole board swing on you, or try to stop them and make it hurt a lot worse. You know a deck is good when you legitimately lose some friends over it.
The first cards were a couple others I really miss. I forget the names though. I think one was "The death of Tim." Red/Blue. All the cheap 2-3 cost pingers along with equipment that gave them deathtouch (and neko-te). It was backed up with Paradox Haze/Reality Strobe/Arc Blade for auto pings/removal. A total control creature deck where no one ever attacked. Other variation of essentially the same thing was black/green. Just full of monsters with Lure/Regeneration/Death Strike. Not intricate, but it could wipe fields.
I play alot of control in modern and this one friend of mine wanted to try it, so we put together a blue white control deck. The only thing was that it had around maybe 18 sweepers in it. This one guy my friend played literally stormed out of the store sometime into game one saying "i just came here to have fun" after getting his board swept away maybe 5 turns in a row.
Love the vids the angle deck is what got me to your channel my first deck i ever built was and angle deck and it had every thing you had but the artifacts( i was mana hungry). Keep up the deck builds.
I feel like Viridian Longbow is a better choice for your "ping" equipment. It has the same converted mana cost and although its 3 to equip, instead of 2, it doesn't have the added cost per use that Pathway Arrows has. Also, even though this variant doesn't tap colorless creatures down (which is a bit irrelevant anyway), it does have the added benefit of being able to hit your opponent for the damage directly if your in a pinch for the win.
This is a much more officiant version of my green black deathtouch deck. But mine is based on getting Vraska The Unseen's ultimate with Rogues Passage. Green gives me the Deadly Recluse lol.
If u use dread slaver with death touch and the ping card you can not only kill their monsters but can summon them to your side of the field with dread slavers effect.
hey man, love your videos, love the decks! just a little suggestion, might be worth adding into the titles of the videos whether the deck is vintage, modern or standard, cause when i first started watching your videos i found it hard to keep track of which format the deck was for, other than that, really great vids!
You may want to play the 4 mana 6/6 flier that says you can't win the game and your opponent can't lose the game if its on the battlefield. You enough death touch pingers to kill him once they drop below 1.
You make some of the best decks ever i used your slivers turn 2 and your red turn 3 it was so much fun now I have another deck to try out!! 😎😎 thanks!!!
This deck seems like a lot of fun. I am actually working on something similar for commander and hope it turns out the way I want it too. Love the content Joey. I'm always looking forward to it.
Bad Boy maybe make an updated video of this one using thornbite staff and deathtouch shamans seems to be the best combo out there for pissing people off to no end
built the deck, took it to FNM, literally the final cards showed up in the mail hours before FNM. There were 30 of us playing modern. I took 11th place. Now looking to do upgrades.
I'm building this deck. Bunch of us play all the time and I cant wait to lose friends over this deck. I love making trolly decks to make people mad. Lol this is great.
You do it send me it and I'll buy that one. I own 3 of your decks already. But I wanted a piss people of deck and found this one. You make it better I'll buy that one.
cool little rogue brew. from playing pauper, wondering if Viridian Longbow might be a better option. Costs a tad more to equip, but the ability is free. I'd also go super jank, and run thornbite staff and King Macar
Really cool deck. I used to play crypt rats, lifelink and unspeakable symbol. Antoher one, you have many 1 damage shooters out there just equip them with Basilisk collar.
Sounds like a cool deck, but death touch only procs if it is combat damage. Same for lifelink. I could be mistaken, it I wanted to build another deck with the same principle a few years ago. Would have been a nice deck though if it worked that way.
Sorcerer’s wand could also be used. Same initial cost, 1 higher to equip, but no mana to tap. Ability targets wizards instead of colorless, but that doesn’t really matter with this deck
My only question is how it beats any kind of control, aside from fellow removal decks, in which case the game will probably drag out for a long time, most blue or white control is just gonna counter or exile any of the pieces to keep the arrows working, plus without many creatures to kill the deck sounds like it will peter out before it can get rolling with the beatsticks like desecration or titan.
Nice deck, I'd make more room for targeted removal especially in modern like a fatal push or dismember but that would push it out of budget. Death touch is nice on defense but without the arrows you don't have a lot of offense.
Im almost dont building this deck although there are a few cards i cant get at my lgs for now. What is your thoughts to adding sadistic sacrement to either the main deck or the side board
I like it. I'd drop the grave titan for Ob Nixilus, unshackled. And dash hopes would be nice for countering spells or life reduction. I think its better than most mono black non zombie decks. Could use some more draw spells like cycle cards maybe.
One of my friends brought up an agrument when he started getting pissy with my prototype of this deck (because I have yet to get ahold of all the cards I need) if the creature Pathway Arrows is attached to does not have flying, such as Typhoid Rats, does the pathway arrow still allow them to kill a flying creature?
basilisk collar and cards like blood cultist will reduce the cost to deathtouch-snipe down to 0, and you can pay 2 to equip it to another blood cultist, and kill another creature
Made this deck in my playgroup and it kicks ass. extremely strong creature based deck. and tons of fun for the user. :D never tested it in competitive and properly never will. care to try it out and let me know if there´s some improvement needed ? would it work competitive? deck cost is from 1-3 with a single 4 drop removal. very consistent. Silverblade allstar deck: Modern lands: 20x plains creatures: 3x kor duelist (or 3x vault skirge less dmg more sustain+ metalcraft) depend on playstyle 3x hovermyr ( work towards metalcraft strong flyer with umezawa´s jitty + silverblade paladin offense and def) 4x puresteel paladin (card draw+ free equip when you have metalcraft) 1x sram, senior edificer (a bit extra card draw) 3x silverblade paladin ( this card is crazzy in this deck trust me ;D) underrated gem if you have a 6/2 trample hovermyr out with bonesplitter and O-naginata. throw out this badboy and its now a doublestriker/trample/flying/vigilance hitting for 12 on attack and def) 3x etched champion ( this card is just crazy ;D) equipment: 4x bonesplitter ( kor duelist turn 1. bonesplitter turn two swing for 6) next turn throw on O-naginata trample swing 12 4x O-naginata ( cheap as fuck to equip. 2 mana cheaper than loxodon warhammer) puresteel often gets removed.) 2x umezawa´s Jitte ( broken as fuck. hands down the best equipment ever made.) (expensive sorry ;P) 4x cranial plating ( this is why double strike and trample is so nice for the deck) spells: 4x dispatch (cheap removal) 2x dispense justice ( gets rid of unblockable untargetable creatures.) 1x return to dust ( if we get locked down its nice to be able to break free. but we should kill the enemy withing round 4-5) artifact: 2x sol ring (because we can use colorless mana ALOT)
For anyone that wants to just see the decklist in writing here ya' go:

Smh, he actually did it boys. 😂
Put this deck together with some cards I had then invited a freind over, we played a couple of rounds than yelled at me to change the deck
+Ryan Phang it always goes that way lol
I feel like thornbite staff would perform better than pathway arrows because of the "whenever a creature is put into a graveyard from play, untap this creature". So as long as you have enough mana, you can completely wipe out the opponent's defenses in 1 turn, and piss them off even more.
+Autism Overload I didn't know that card existed!
Autism Overload I was thinking the same card

Everytime you make one of these i end up spending money lol why do you do this to me
This is a REALLY FUN deck! lol
My daughter wont like it so o gotta get it lol
They are UltraPro. You can tell by the silver dot in the lower right.
You should do an updated version of this deck for the current standard/modern.

Yoooo just getting back into magic after a couple of years, more as a collector though and loving the content so far, keep it up

Definitely gonna try this one out! I can't believe I didn't think of three pathway arrows combo before. Thanks man!
Swap Pathway Arrows for Thornbite Staff, it auto equips to Nighthawk when Nighthawk enters.
did this with wizards! would cost 3 to cast, tap to deal 1 damage with no extra cost. Gorgons head gives them deathtouch and only costs 2 to equip. also can add Quietus Spike or Gideon, Martial Paragon(untap all creatures once per turn)
Great video! Gotta try this out. Where does everyone go to get individual cards? I’m getting back into magic after many many years of not playing.
card kingdom or TCG player

+ the deck price would go to like 20$
Any updates for this deck? I love it.
+exzir34 Sure thing
You also could consider viridian longbow. The cost to equip is more expensive, but there is no cost to activate the ability.
Animate Dead is not Modern legal, and there is no reason not to run Bog in your main to free up sideboard slots.
Like the concept. Can't wait to see more decks to annoy my friends with!
Was I the only one who laughed when he said my naga
no, no you were not
You weren't
And when he said marauder lmao
Love the vids the angle deck is what got me to your channel my first deck i ever built was and angle deck and it had every thing you had but the artifacts( i was mana hungry). Keep up the deck builds.
I feel like Viridian Longbow is a better choice for your "ping" equipment. It has the same converted mana cost and although its 3 to equip, instead of 2, it doesn't have the added cost per use that Pathway Arrows has. Also, even though this variant doesn't tap colorless creatures down (which is a bit irrelevant anyway), it does have the added benefit of being able to hit your opponent for the damage directly if your in a pinch for the win.
... just saw the other comments addressing this issue.... now i feel silly.
its ok I am guilty of the same things on other videos.
Appreciate it
LOVE IT! Thanks for uploading. Cannot wait to try this puppy out!
I just bought the other cards I need for this deck. I'll let you know once I've played it against a few friends! Can't wait!
I built a deck just like this in bfz standard, it was amazing, then artifact destruction became more relevant. Great video.
+Jared Boswell true that
Your budget decks are sick man. Keep making these videos
+Jeremy Norris Kick-Ass! I know you'll have fun playing with this deck
This deck seems like a lot of fun. I am actually working on something similar for commander and hope it turns out the way I want it too. Love the content Joey. I'm always looking forward to it.
+Austin Hill Right on, thanks playa!
Thought everyone should know, in addition or replacing of a better version of pathway arrows is verdian longbow less of a hassel. Thanks everyone!
+PurpleAvenger100 fact
Bad Boy maybe make an updated video of this one using thornbite staff and deathtouch shamans seems to be the best combo out there for pissing people off to no end
built the deck, took it to FNM, literally the final cards showed up in the mail hours before FNM. There were 30 of us playing modern. I took 11th place. Now looking to do upgrades.
Looks good bro my have to make this one looks fun great video man keep them coming your the best
I'm building this deck. Bunch of us play all the time and I cant wait to lose friends over this deck. I love making trolly decks to make people mad. Lol this is great.
I bet I can remake this twice as good
You do it send me it and I'll buy that one. I own 3 of your decks already. But I wanted a piss people of deck and found this one. You make it better I'll buy that one.
I think you found another video to make lol. I hope so. I love your videos.
cool little rogue brew. from playing pauper, wondering if Viridian Longbow might be a better option. Costs a tad more to equip, but the ability is free.
I'd also go super jank, and run thornbite staff and King Macar
+no body better option. I wasn't around for many years, overlooked that card
small question about pathway arrows would it bet better to have Viridian Longbow seeing it does not cost u to tap mana for it to do its abiltes?
+Philip cabeleira dam, wish I had known about that card. I would of tossed a playset of those in the deck and left one or two arrows
Really cool deck. I used to play crypt rats, lifelink and unspeakable symbol. Antoher one, you have many 1 damage shooters out there just equip them with Basilisk collar.
Best Magic Channel ever made.
Thank you Sir.
Love it!! First deck I’ve ever made, super nice when I manage to get everything out that I need
If you splash in blue. You can add sigil of sleep to help draw cards for 1Blu
Nice deck, I'd make more room for targeted removal especially in modern like a fatal push or dismember but that would push it out of budget. Death touch is nice on defense but without the arrows you don't have a lot of offense.
+Jayson Hughes There is a push in the sideboard, could of used a 2nd or 3rd. True
Im almost dont building this deck although there are a few cards i cant get at my lgs for now. What is your thoughts to adding sadistic sacrement to either the main deck or the side board
I do t think I've ever seen an ad on one of your videos before until now
I like it. I'd drop the grave titan for Ob Nixilus, unshackled. And dash hopes would be nice for countering spells or life reduction. I think its better than most mono black non zombie decks. Could use some more draw spells like cycle cards maybe.
Just getting into mtg. I was wondering if new cards since you made this video would be better to use in the deck.
Just bought this deck but with Viridian Longbow and Thornbite Staff looks really fun to play
Do you know about the other enchantment that works with sanguine bond to make an infinite combo
Sure do, but with the Mana costs it's rather difficult to pull off
Love building budget decks... the ones that annoy your opponent... awesome channel... keep it up
+23ZarakiKenpachi thanks playa
I am in total love with this deck!! Im building this ASAP
Another great deck. I've never seen Pathway Arrows before, but I will soon enough.
really considering making these budget decks they looks fun to use
I love this Deckidea.
It's like an archtype-black-deck. love it.
It'd be cool if you made some decks for a specific format, as opposed to just kitchen table decks, great video!
Any update on how to improve this even further? Would love to see a more expensive version :)
Hey Joey! What's your fave set or Block?
if u want can add more sidisis will the deck work the same
If you're running Sanguine Bond and Blood Artist, you may as well include Exquisite Blood.
One question. If I ping a creature and my opponent respons with a bolt do i still kill the creature my opponent controlls?
One of my friends brought up an agrument when he started getting pissy with my prototype of this deck (because I have yet to get ahold of all the cards I need) if the creature Pathway Arrows is attached to does not have flying, such as Typhoid Rats, does the pathway arrow still allow them to kill a flying creature?
Just an awesome idea great work man.
basilisk collar and cards like blood cultist will reduce the cost to deathtouch-snipe down to 0, and you can pay 2 to equip it to another blood cultist, and kill another creature
+xCCflierx legit
Can you put the card list and quantities in the description i love watching these budget decks and this mono black deck would be awesome to try out
Thornbite staff would give you a nice infinite combo, just a little more expensive to equip.
I'd love for you to throw in a couple non-budget alternatives. Think it would be a cool little option for some to view.

Silverblade allstar deck: Modern
lands:
20x plains
creatures:
3x kor duelist (or 3x vault skirge less dmg more sustain+ metalcraft) depend on playstyle
3x hovermyr ( work towards metalcraft strong flyer with umezawa´s jitty + silverblade paladin offense and def)
4x puresteel paladin (card draw+ free equip when you have metalcraft)
1x sram, senior edificer (a bit extra card draw)
3x silverblade paladin ( this card is crazzy in this deck trust me ;D) underrated gem if you have a 6/2 trample hovermyr out
with bonesplitter and O-naginata. throw out this badboy and its now a
doublestriker/trample/flying/vigilance hitting for 12 on attack and def)
3x etched champion ( this card is just crazy ;D)
equipment:
4x bonesplitter ( kor duelist turn 1. bonesplitter turn two swing for 6) next turn throw on O-naginata trample swing 12
4x O-naginata ( cheap as fuck to equip. 2 mana cheaper than loxodon warhammer) puresteel often gets removed.)
2x umezawa´s Jitte ( broken as fuck. hands down the best equipment ever made.) (expensive sorry ;P)
4x cranial plating ( this is why double strike and trample is so nice for the deck)
spells:
4x dispatch (cheap removal)
2x dispense justice ( gets rid of unblockable untargetable creatures.)
1x return to dust ( if we get locked down its nice to be able to break free. but we should kill the enemy withing round 4-5)
artifact:
2x sol ring (because we can use colorless mana ALOT)
Isn't there an enchant aura that gives deathtouch. Bc if there is you could put it on Breaker of Armies and it will wipe out your opponents creatures
+Zavier Burch That'd be cool
