1,000 step before coffee and leaving home for work, ..... getting 8 hrs sleep per night, working at a desk job interacting with clients 8 hours per day, driving to and from work 2 hours per day, at least 1 hour of sitting down for meals, at least 1 hour of personal care hygiene, at least 1 hour of other daily living compulsory low movement activities such as meal preparation + preparing your clothing + etc, ...... leaves only 2 hours on a very strictly organised day to get 10,000 steps outdoors in per day ( that's at least 1 hour of fast walking), 🤞🏽the weather is reasonable and there's daylight. Very unrealistic goal in our world!

I totally agree. However, if there is a will, there is a way. My coworker completely transformed herself in her 50s while working at a high stress job with very limited hours. All she did was buy one of those under the desk treadmills and walked during meetings at her desk and changed her diet to a low carb, low fat, high protein diet.

My Dad is just turning 60. The ketogenic diet had a massive impact on bringing him down from a pre-diabetic A1C of 6.1 to something like 5.5.
He is no longer pre-diabetic, and he has lost a significant amount of weight. We disagree on the role of calories in vs. calories out when it comes to weight loss and the ketogenic diet, but for him the diet has been easily maintainable going on 2 years now and there is no doubt that it has positively impacted his insulin resistance.
I just wish I could convince him to incorporate some kind of resistance training into his week. Even if it's just light resistance training once a week for 40 minutes. Doesn't have to be bodybuilding focused. Just basic resistance training exercises to build/maintain skeletal muscle.
But it's like pulling teeth. He just won't do it. I don't understand some people's aversion to stepping in a gym.

Same with my dad on exercise. He calls it torture. Ugh.........So frustrating. Just walk, do some push ups and air squats. He will NOT listen.

    • @vinvin4884
      @vinvin4884 25 дней назад +1

@@11112222ful Oh he keep himself busy and he's pretty active going for walks and going fishing and doing handyman tasks around the house.
And I'm sure that helps a great deal.
But there's a difference between that kind of activity and purposely doing resistance training with the intention of preserving muscle mass, which at his age is incredibly important.

The easiest way to lose fat was adopting carnivore lifestyle beginning of this year. The needed 10 kg disappeared like snow in the spring! No extra exercise needed apart from cycling to the shops and gardening. Previous attempts have been hard work, and never have l had such quick results as with getting rid of carbs. 😮
Constant body movement l do anyway with lsmakogie! Move Easy Feel Good is for any age!

I’m concerned your guest eats high on refined binge meal and is shook his BG levels rise quickly to 190. That’s not diabetic. That’s normal physiology. If it stayed at 190 and was still unduly elevated 2 hours post prandial it might indicate something more. Or not. A one off BG elevation does not a type 2 diabetic make. T2d is a disease of CHRONIC dysregulation. Acute elevations are the norm

@@TezTezTezTezTezthis whole insanity around insulin spikes is so misguided. If you aren't insulin resistant or diabetic, there's nothing to worry about. You ate. That meal needs to digest! The energy needs to go to the cells!

Please check the stats regarding rates of obesity and overweight in the UK. To suggest that the rates for these are low/negligible tells listeners you have not done your homework, and/or are basing this assertion on impressions only.

Comparative to the US it is low though, lots of people overweight, but I’ve never seen even one of the seriously obese people you see everywhere in some parts of the US. Getting worse here every year though.

Your concern doesn't change the importance or relevance of his message to those who need to hear it. If you suffer from type 1 diabetes then you would be under medical supervision to control the disease anyway... Everything he said is about controlling type 2 diabetes or preventing prediabetes from progressing.

      "Diabetes" means Type 2.
And Type 1's are not immune to Type 2, so the advice still applies. You still need insulin, though.

Stress has been the thing that has changed my life. I do agree exercise is so good. I was walking and keeping fit and healthy diet. But l had a mini stroke and affected my leg. This all happened beginning of covid l live in Melbourne Australia and we were the worse city in the world for lockdown. Walking made my leg worse. Pool was closed that is the best thing water therapy. So the weight came on so frustrating. After COVID l gradually losing weight and restricted on only walking a few kms per day and the pool is good and lm getting more movement now. I really push myself
But recently l have been in hospital with twisted bowel this has changed my life.
I have had stressful life and stress is causing health issues with so many people.
Remember people are on medication that doesn’t help weight & a person mind.
You need organic food & growing my own vegetables and organic meat & organic sourdough bread & salmon from the sea
Now lm meditating and letting go my past. More needs to be talked about stress that l had no idea this has affected my whole life. Now lm on a better journey knowing stress was controlling and nearly killed me
