  • Can Robots cook? Basically, yes! Here's a Yaskawa Motoman SDA10 Dual Arm Robot with electric grippers. This #eggsandwichrobot is an industrial Robot cooking with standard household items. The robot retrieves the ingredients from the refrigerator, loads the cooker by cracking an egg, and serves up the finished sandwich.

    Heh, it's nice to see someone taking the old example of telling a robot to make a sandwich, and actually going through with it.

    A bit expensive at the start, but it wouldn't max the credit card on clothes and makeup. ;o)

    It put the empty egg carton back in the 'fridge. Must be a male robot.

    that's the most amazing thing i've ever seen! i never knew there was a device that could crack an egg for me like that! or even the sandwich cooker. that thing is also amazing!
    and the actual robot too.. pretty cool
    how long do you think it'll be until mass production for the Kitchenbot3000?
    i'm nervous that my lifetime's not long enough to really see the next phase in human/robot interaction.

    How many hours did it take to program that demo?

    • @Rstech
      @Rstech  6 лет назад +6

      It was done in stages (different routines). 1st we created the gripper control programs. 2nd could we pick and crack an egg. 3rd can we reach and retrieve the tray from the fridge (tray needed modification). 4th Can we position and pick the muffin. 5th can we open and close the cooker. Looking back at our notes, I believe just the robot movement programming took roughly 3 days (24 man hours).

    why is not egg getting nroken while handling? its not compulsory that all eggs will came with same size

    • @Rstech

      I believe we've only run about 3 dozen eggs total. We made small modifications to accommodate the widest range of egg sizes.

      +Yago Ferrer www.robotkiosks.com/mobile-robots.html we've combined a couple processes to run simultaneously and also removed a few of the home return steps. We hope to have a new video out utilizing our newer SDA10 - FS100 on a 24" x 48" cart.

    • @Rstech
      @Rstech  8 лет назад +1

      ruclips.net/video/M8r0gmQXm1Y/видео.html is almost the latest version. We've upgraded to a newer Yaskawa Motoman SDA10 robot and FS100 controller. Removed many of the "return to home" moves and combined sequences together. I believe we reduced the overall cycle time by about 2 minutes. Still takes 3.5 minutes to cook.

    Fed up seeing clips of these egg sandwich-making robots. Two a penny. The lack of originality stroke ingenuity is sickening. Why does nobody make a robot that can make a bacon roll? Or, better still, a fish finger butty with loads of tomato ketchup (Heinz preferably)?
