Motoman dual arm robot in biomedical cell

This DA series dual arm MOTOMAN robot from YASKAWA is working in a biomedical cell. This highly agile and flexible robot features 15-axis. The jump of the plate (at 1:07 and 5:07) when the plate was taken and put back to the top of the incubator might cause spills. A modified procedure might be needed to resolve this issue.

Doing computation now but doing wet lab stuff before for more than 10 years, I am happy to see that kind of robotics system happens for routine jobs, and for better quality of research data by consistent protocols. Human errors and manipulation usually happen, which directly causes poor data reproducibility, and waste of money and time in industry and in academia... I see the solution of the future by robotic systems for biomedical laboratory. Probably it will help some dry lab professors do wet lab stuff, rather than deal with unexpected troubles from their wet lab collaborators...

The Yumi is a cobot with quite a restricted payload. This model is an industrial robot that is actually suitable for biomedical purposes as well (seals and oil are different)
