I pushed a rolo into putty & also Lovehearts. Back in the day...about 15 years ago...I started out making clay jewellery to match my funky dresses & one had loveheart sweet print on it ❤ Clay macarons are super cute too 😊 I've also pushed coins ,keys & a comb into putty xx
Years ago Oreo came out with a limited edition Mickey Mouse birthday cookies. They were so cute that I knew I had to mold them, and I still use it to this day! I really wish we had the same love sweets here in the US. Here we have the same (gross lol) chalk type candy, but they're heart shaped and the words are printed on it. Yours are adorable!
Love this Claire ❤ I would use old coins, vintage stamps that have those wooden handles and maybe decorative beads/buttons. Then I would turn them into either jewellery or keyrings. 😊
I made cuff links for my dad and brothers from a couple of Indian Head Pennie’s and three legged buffalo nickels … I pressed them into some silicone putty… turned out so cute…
Cute! I just bought several things at the market in Luxor, Egypt with the intension of turning them into molds. The one I would use with the putty are the cheesy key chains I keep buying as I go. You
I love miniatures, and love making polymer clay foods for go in dollhouses. I've been known to use shank buttons to make putty molds of fake pie crust tops. It occurs to me tat these tiny fake foods would be so cute in resin too. I also have tons of fancy real food sprinkles to use in resin. Very cute video, Claire❤
I love how the hearts float up from the darkness below and brightens everything! I would try ornate buttons or jewlery bits. I know some mould puttys can take higher heat than the polymer clay needs to be cured at so you can cure it in the mould to avoid distortion.
Absolutely love them and the coaster is gorgeous. Old coins and maybe decorative stamps. There is no limit to what you could do with this, thanks Claire brilliant video n even better idea xx
in order to reduce the clay "wonkiness" you can always bake the polymer clay in the mould. Being silicone the mould is fine in the heat. I think the result is wonderfully kitschy! I would mould fancy buttons or pins.
Claire these are adorable, in the US we have some candies like these called sweethearts and they are just the hearts not the circle around them. I made some coasters with them just being put in the resin. I had red and pink glitter hearts as a backing and they were adorable.
Claire, thank you so much for sharing this. I have a light switch cover and a outlet cover I need to copy. It is because the size is larger than the molds I got from Temu. They are larger than what you can pick up at the hardware store. I was having a hard time figuring out how to get a mold with a regular silicone mold kit. I just hope I can work fast enough to get the imprint before it hardens. ❤❤❤
Oh, I also took some of my old coins and pressed them into the silicone putty… I made a set of cuff links from a couple of old Indian Head Pennies and Three Legged Buffalo Nickels… I made them for my dad and brothers for Christmas last year…
That is a lovely coaster, very cute! I'm with you on the tast of love hearts and another one my husband loves are called rockets. Tastes like soap and chalk to me. I have a great dragon necklace I would make copies of for crafting.
In the US we have a similar candy. It's "Sweethearts" conversation hearts. They are in pastels and a heart only. No circle around it. I'm not sure if the words are embossed or just stamped. The candy is chalky and yuck. No. Lol. They do come in a cute box. Really cute project.
Our sweet hearts in the US are actually heart shaped...they are called Conversation Hearts...they have all the lil love sayings (be mine, love you, etc.) on them, and come in pastel colors. They are sold here as a Valentine's Day candy...I'm not sure if they are available other times of the year or not. 😅 I'm not a big fan. As kids, we all gave them with our Valentine's. I think we all liked them then...they were sweet!! 😂 Very CUTE coasters, Claire!!!! 😊
I absolutely love this! What a great idea (that I wouldn't have thought of myself). The colors were perfect! I've never worked with clay before, but I'm really excited to try. The stamp effect reminds me of the candy hearts (think they're called conversation hearts) that we have in the US (they taste awful too lol). Thank you for another great video! I'm going to put some of my antique pins that my grandmother left my into the silicone putty.
My daughter loves them too lol,,,,oh Claire this is amazing my daughter would love this but you can't buy sweethearts in Canada her friends send them to her to eat but that would mean for me to make them for her I would have to break in and find them and steal some lol
Yes, we have those awful little candies in the US, too. But, they are just the heart shape with sayings on them. You either love them or hate them 😂. Now, I need to try making a cute Valentine coaster, as well. 😍
It's actually unbelievable to see this beautiful cute little mold in making😁🤩,Ms Claire.Loved each and every bit of this video,be it the mold making with silicon putty, or those cute little heart message charms or adding them to that wonderful coaster with amazing glass like finish.Thank you always for sharing your wonderful talent,Ms Claire 😍💜💜
Cute heart charms, made with polymer clay in this project,Ms Claire. This project was entirely a handmade project where you first made the mold, then the charms, the redun coaster and everything 💜💜.And the coaster turned out brilliant 😍😍💜💜
Oh wow i remember those sweets and yes i agree they are chalky and not nice lol Better make sure tim doesnt seem these he may htink they are the real thing and try n eat them LOL . This is such a cute thing and a brilliant idea . I dont really have anything to hand to make a mold from BUT I do have some DND dice not sure that would work though ? Fab product !!
This is so adorable Claire! I was watching live but on my phone and my livechat crashed so I couldn't chat with you all. Enjoy the rest of your weekend ❤
AWWWW, that's so cute, Claire! I love it! Our American version of the "Conversation Hearts" is just the heart shape with the sayings on them...yes, in pink, stamped letters. They're not embossed like yours, which really look so much nicer. Yeah, can't stand them, either...yuck to the chalk factor!😅
A great idea to use those hearts - you might hate the taste but you found a useful job for them! I have some silicone putty I have not yet used, and I've had it since Christmas. You make me wanna just grab everything and shove them in, your videos always look so fun. Thanks for another great video, Claire!
These are really cute! I have old buttons, keys and stuff I'm saving just to make molds from, so I'd probably use the putty for those. I can't remember if yiu've ever mentioned how much heat the cured putty can take? Would it be okay to bake polymer clay in, like a regular silicone mold? If yes, you could bake thin or delicate things kn the mold and remove them once they're baked. No warping.
The coaster turned out beautiful love these sweets and always give the love you sweets to my partner soppy I know but it’s the little things we’ll that’s what I say and I’m sticking to it 😂 thing liquorice allsorts might be one I have to try as Brian loves them yuck 🤢 but great video as always
Question, why couldn’t u have done the same thing only using the polymer clay as the mold rather than the resin putty & then make the reversed pieces with the hardened polymer clay pieces?! Hope that make sense!
I took my husbands Batman Keychain medallion and pressed it into some silicone putty… turned out perfect! Those little heart things would make cute earrings :)
We have something very similar to those sweeties here in the states…. They are little hearts with those same types of sayings on them but they are not raised letters… they are stamped on with edible ink… and they are DIS-GUS-TING!! They are wintergreen flavored and so bloody chalky… YUCK! They remind me of an antacid like Tums or Rolaids…
These would be super cute as a charm bracelet.
Childhood sweets. ❤️❤️

Love it, Claire. How about imprints of small antique jars, I think I'm going to try it.
Cute! I just bought several things at the market in Luxor, Egypt with the intension of turning them into molds. The one I would use with the putty are the cheesy key chains I keep buying as I go. You

In the US we have conversation hearts the whole candy is heart shaped. I would do chopsticks, because I make hair sticks.

I took my husbands Batman Keychain medallion and pressed it into some silicone putty… turned out perfect!
Those little heart things would make cute earrings :)
I actually bought molds like these from Etsy so not sure about the copyright. They cost almost £7 each sweet. X
