- Talking about my experience owning my 2013 powerstroke over the last 2 years and comparing it to other older powerstrokes on the market as well as the newer models.
Overall I think these are great trucks, very strong build quality and I’ve seen them hit very high milage points all over facebook, tiktok, and youtube pages. I think you can also pick these up for a great deal, and you still have a lot of the same qualities of the new ford powerstroke trucks.
Just bought a 2013 lariat with 57,000 miles in love with it
Toss a disaster prevention kit in it and she's mint. Other then 06/07 i think these are some of the best looking trucks on the road
@@popupheadlightswhat’s a disaster prevention kit?

Any good places to start looking for "weight reduction" parts?
Just bought a 2015 6.7 king ranch with 42k miles in the red color combo. Love it so far. Gotta change the CP4 out with S&S and EGR delete. Keeping it simple

We own a 2017 and the tow tone paint and fender flairs being part of the actual panels was one of the things we WANTED and why we did NOT want a 2020+ model. We also like the interiors of the 2011-2016 and 2017-2019 more than the new ones. Materials feel higher quality and we just like the looks better. I WISH we could find a 2017-2019 with low miles, and the 6R140 is just about perfect. An 8R140 would be ideal IMO but such transmission is not available, so 6 it is.
If you don;t mind me asking how much did you pay for it? I'm looking into getting one of these trucks and trying to figure out good market prices.

Looking to pick up this 2011 king ranch with 43k on it.. will be my first diesel so definitely gonna be a whole new world to me 😅
This looks like my Older brother's Ford F250 king ranch that was bought in September 2022
I have a 2011 King Ranch I bought in April with 120k & in mint condition. Same exact color as yours.. love this truck. Ive had newer trucks and this one is by far my favorite. Mint interior, mint exterior and i put 40k on it already this past year. I do my oil changes every 5 k religiously. All I've done so far is tires and oil changes and truck runs like brand new. Loving that front bumper brother. I thought about something like that but i didnt want to add black with all the chrome on the truck
@@LocoSOB hell yeah! I personally think these trucks are super solid. I always see more issues on newer ones

@@kevindunn175 I'm kiiiiinda on the search for a 7.3 also like yours. Don't need it but I just would like to own one with the 7.3. but in Florida the prices for these older trucks are through the roof. A guy here has one with 46k miles in excellent shape. Garage kept and asking almost $30k !!!!! I went to look at it and it is absolutely beautiful. $30k is just not possible right now for me. Is it worth it? I'm inclined to believe it is. Not much electronics and all that other EPA BS on it.

However I have seen some of the 2003 7.3’s around here with same mileage and asking price you’re seeing in Florida here in South Carolina and when I say they are mint they are mint! Like off the show room floor brand new looking. Is it worth it? Most definitely because in my opinion they’re still almost new and all the common issues that are known about now can be taken care of before they happen because 46k miles that’s not even broken in yet.
@kevindunn175 I have a buddy with a 6.0 dually. Forgot the year. But he changed a few things on the engine. If I remember correctly he changed the head bolts. And a few other things, and his has over 360k miles on it. He loves that truck. He just recently installed a completely new leather interior and looks incredible.

I had a new 19 6.7 until the top fuel filter exploded and caught the truck on fire with 17,xxx miles. Bought a 15 6.7 with 53,k miles rite after to replace the 19. The 15 was a good truck, but 19 was more efficient daily driving and towing. And the 19s ride was much better than the 15. Both had 6spd trans. Both were Lariat trim but 15 had heated rear seats and sunroof the 19 didn't. 19 did have power steps and better tow capacity than the 15. I have a f150 now and dang i miss those 250s. @@andrewanderson1436 they have same suspension idk how it would ride better, every alumiduty I’ve been in rides the same, u probably were in a old steel body with worn out shocks is why

But after I bought the 15, I put bilstein 5100s shocks and steering stabilizer, 2020 Lairat wheels, and new Michlen tires factory gooseneck hitch. The 19 was definitely taller than the 15. Both fx4 4wd. Even had a 99 7.3 4wd. Even the springs on it were different in the rear. It had more leafs than both other trucks.
I love my 2013 250. I have basically this same truck. Color and everything except I have the black interior with the king ranch seats.

my grandpa has a 2012 f250 with the 6.7l powerstroke and my uncle has a 2022 f250 with the 6.7l powerstroke and i like driving my grandpas truck because the transmission feels smoother but the trim level difference with my uncles (2022 xl) and my grandpas (2012 xlt) i like the '22 xl's interior better but over all i would take shifting smoother over the nicer interior. on another note my dream truck is a 2014-2016 f350 srw lariat in Dark "Highland Green Metallic" with either a stone brown or gray two-tone
True, I do like the newer interiors for the looks for sure, but at the same time the older king ranches are so iconic to me. For sure would prioritize transmission shifting over interiors too

Be careful for the early build 2011. I blew an engine on my 2011. Bought with 110k miles fully documented maintenance done by previous owner. Blew the engine at 130k. The early 2011's have a glow plug/exhaust valve issue that can grenade the engine. I put a Ford long block in with the updated metal oil pan. At 160k now.
I noticed you mentioned transmission rebuild cost but not engine repairs. My buddy has a 2013 that had a turbo problem. Cost $9000 to fix.

@@NonTypicalRacing I tbh do like aluminum, I havent seen any f series aluminum trucks oxidize yet suprisingly, will have to see how they last in 5 more years before I would consider one
@nick7.3 you're in Michigan, right? I'm in Wisconsin so...salt😒. We can see subframes in cars starting to "wafer". We have a somewhat nicer steel car trailer that goes out during salt months, with an older Featherlite alum. that get put out back, out of service during salt months.
@ yea im in rust belt michigan, as we speak our roads are salty as hell
Good video and agree with most of what you said. I do find the alumiduties ride a bit better and steering a bit nicer. Not saying its drastic but i can notice it personally.
I actually have a 22 7.3 10sp and I guess TBD on 10 speed reliability but I've overall heard farily good things on both diesel and gas. Is it as good as the 6 speed maybe not, but functionally wise it's like a cheat code to always having good power band, especially on a gasser.
Also super nice clean truck man, take good care of her.
@@AmericanAutomotive1 idk how they possibly could ride better tbh, all of the alumiduties I’ve driven were the exact same, they appear to have same suspension. Everyone on 6.7 diesel pages crys about them though, idk if its a Ford quality issue or if its a young kid, lead food, 240hp hot tune issue though!
2017-22 they thickened thr tie rod and drag link, and some other small stuff I think. It does make a noticeable, albeit slight difference to me.
2023 they lengthened the radius arms and changed various angles of like drag link and whatnot. That really makes a big difference. The 2023s drive awesome
