It's been clear since the early days of Putin's invasion of Ukraine that Ukrainians are taking the welfare of animals very seriously. Look at all the people who take their pets into the subways tunnels and basements with them to keep them safe. All the people who bring their pets to the border as they become refugees. We saw this when people were rushing to escape the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan too. Humans are not the only victims of war.

@@paulastanley2412 Sadly she only lived for 3 weeks after she arrived at the sanctuary. She had a stroke, was paralysed and didn't respond to treatment. If you search for the Libearty Sanctuary, they have a little more of her story there.

"Restored" might be a big word in the current situation (civilians being shot in the back and all). But I get what you mean.
It made me tear up. Humans are such a species of extremes: extreme hatred and violence versus extreme love and kindness. Thankfully, MOST humans fall on the ‘love and kindness’ side of things. This was inspiring.
I think it is the same thing. Some people lose hope and never really see the best of people. Which is too bad because sometimes it takes crises for people to start seeking help and understand that a good many people wish for your survival through your worst health problems. I try to aways be on the side of prevention now. There is only so much I can do, which is why I like to hear of great survival stories like this. However it should be said the war put Masha into this terrible problem and we can all make a little effort go a long way just like these heroes.

I wish that you were right about most people, m peacock. But the world would not be so full of hatred, war and violence if you were. It's the humans that fall on the side of kindness and actually being willing to DO SOMETHING like the guys in this video that are in the minority, unfortunately. A woman would not be able to be raped on a bus openly with no one stepping in to help her if most people were kind. This happened not long ago, look it up. No one helped, but many filmed.
@@Megan-cd6sh No idea where that incident happened but I have trust in people in my community to do something about a problem such as that. And I also think you are wrong about most people having hatred. People who think like that are in situations where the abuse of power is commonplace. If it is up to us to make the world better, then your argument would not make much sense. People with unmet needs have to have their problems fixed first, such as people experiencing homelessness and people living with disabilities. I hear in Florida there is no way to get around in and be independent as a person in a wheelchair. A problem like that would make me think the same as you. I do not; our community is trying to serve the public and I try to do my part for people with problems. It is not okay to feel what you do, you should be angry with the belief that people are full of hatred and try to have hope things can change.

This rescue is truly inspiring and heartwarming. A magnificent example of true humanitarian heroes. Marsha is now in a good place to call home, safe and finally free. I thought for sure that animals were not to be used in circuses anymore. These people are definitely heroes. ❤️🙏🐻🐻🤗

Mostly they have been outlawed throughout most, if not all, of Europe now so that's going to be old footage given that bears can live up to 30 years or so. Not all bears had a sanctuary to go to so there are still random animals scattered about in various living conditions. There are lots of interesting stories around, both youtube and elsewhere, on bear rescues. Worth searching out.
I remember watching a documentary on a bear rescue attempt that involved getting laws changed in Romania. That was around 10 to 15 years back.
Also some bears kept on roadside zoos or as displays next to a cafe existed too, and may still exist in some places. It generally involves law changes first as owners rarely want to give up their source of income, followed by rescue which may not be into an ideal sanctuary as that takes money to set up & maintain.
Unfortunately she passed away after 2 weeks in sanctuary,due a AVC from high use or anestesia and stress.

I hate to say this, but since the video neglected to mention…
Masha died suddenly two weeks later of a stroke. It really sucks after seeing what these amazing men did to help save her, but the video neglecting to mention that feels very gross to me.

I found out later that day someone text and comment on Masha she passed 2 weeks later..it was a horrible shock! I cried so hard..she had a stroke!
These acts of love and empathy for creatures who have no control over their life and have to endure abuse are the examples that give us hope. Masha is beautiful and has no idea these three men are only the first best friends she will meet in her life. Thank you to all who rescued her and gave her an amazing new life.

This guy is a huge hero for rescuing Masha and making sure that she will be ok. Much love and support to all involved with helping Masha. May she live a long and happy safe life in her new home.
She passed away, Its in the desciption. She had a stroke. She enjoyed her freedom for 2 weeks.

I love seeing someone that is putting forth the effort to save the animals over in Ukraine. It restores my faith in humanity. I hope to see more animals get saved and either be reunited with their families or new families. I fight with my husband cause if it came down to it I'd save my fur babies and children at the same time cause everything else can be replaced.

Sadly, Masha seemed very used to being in a small cage and was accepting her new fate in the back of the truck. That made her actual release into real freedom even more incredible to see her joy and wonder!! Happy tears!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm glad when you guys saved her and then she gets to have a happy life for the rest of her life hopefully.
This 🐻 is a lucky one even with the performing part she had to live through. Happy these guys stepped up to help her live a more suitable 🐻 life. There are so many less fortunate tortured bears that are used for bile extraction for “medicinal” purposes. Utterly heart breaking! Wish to see a story on their rescue one day soon.

Everybody who helped the bear on her journey to the sanctuary it's wonderful to see her be free as she can be when she was standing up on her hind feet and looking around i swear she was thinking to herself in my dreaming and if I am dreaming I don't want to wake up but I'm so glad that it's not a dream and she's safe and she can be a real bear be free that so wonderful thank you to everyone who helped her I am so happy for her I hope she is a wonderful the rest of her life is wonderful

What a beautifull sight indeed at 3:02, Mascha's face says it all. Those three show the world that we should not use our "superiority" to stomp on the other living species, but to protect them, like big brothers/sisters do.

Wow absolutely amazing!! This group of people took the risk of rescuing a bear, and taking her to a place tlso she would no longer suffer, and they literally have a war going on around them! But they chose to do the right thing and take this bear to a place where she could be a bear! That really says a lot about this group of people! What a selfless act they did! I travelled from Australia to Romania to volunteered at the sanctuary, it change my life. Couldn't find more dedicated people caring for over 100 bears. Good bless everyone who helped save Masha.
