Thank you so much for what you said about people being more alike than different. I live in a *very* Christian area, and people clock that I'm an atheist very quickly when I'm quiet when they're talking about their religion. (Atheist isn't actually the only alternative obviously, but it's considered the only alternative around here, and it just so happens to fit me anyway, lol.) I hear regularly that they don't know how I can be a moral person without following their God, and I'm like so you're saying if you didn't have eternal damnation as a deterrent you'd just murder and pillage with abandon? Like that makes me concerned for them man, lol. But seriously it's great to see that you have an appreciation for people from all beliefs and walks of life. Morality can and should come from more places than just religion. Oh and also the lyric is "Tryin' to find the way but ain't no way back where I've gone", which to me is the song from Webby's perspective, and/or talking about how you can't undo what's already happened in your life. Probably "and" bc pretty much anything Ren touches has at least a couple layers, lol.
THIS SONG AND VIDEO! Best song and video of 2024, according to myself 😄 I've watched it an unhealthy amount of times and it's brilliant. Chris and Ren, and Frankie the director... I love you guys and your creativity.

I think Ren is talking to us at the end of Trouble. He has taken his trials and redemption and given it to us, the listeners, to find whatever it is we need from it. (and maybe turning it over to something in the universe (double)).
That’s not what he says though. I just think people need to stop talking about what Ren believes. If he’s like most people, he probably changes his mind. His lyrics say as much. If people want to believe Ren is a Christian, I really don’t see the harm.

The process is about purgation - from the Latin purgatorius meaning purifying, from the verb purgare, to purge, purify, cleanse. So if you die not having made reparation for a venial sin, or you confess on your deathbed but don't have time to do penance before you die, your time in purgatory cleanses you, after which you can join the company of heaven. So it is def not a place between life and death. You have to die to go to purgatory (even if the EMTs are able to bring you back, as in Ren's case). Now i'm not claiming they are trying to stick to the finer theological points with this, which is fine :) This isn't catechism class :) but i say all this and risk sounding pedantic because i think there's a chance that the theological meaning has resonance here. I'm not trying to be a Catholic apologist here - i'm pretty agnostic on the matter of what *exactly* happens after death and in what order - but the concept of purgatory opens up space for things like the person who messed up but had so many things stacked against them that they hardly had a chance before they made such a bad mistake that it altered the course of their life forever. Or the virtuous pagans. Or a number of other scenarios that seem to warrant a little more nuance than just "saved or damned." So the video paints it as a space where people get there not necessarily realizing what's up, but the other people there can clue them in, and i really like the idea that here's a grungy bar in which people are learning what they need to learn to let go of the shit that contaminated them in life, and they're learning it from other sinners. And once they've figured the shit out, they can leave it and the bar behind and go to heaven. I think the idea can make human suffering make a little more sense, potentially. One messed up person can help another messed up person, maybe, in a space/place where they couldn't have heard it or understood it coming from a church or a deity or an angel. At least not one that looked like one. Maybe one that hangs out in dive bars in disguise, though :)

Both United and a Jesuit priests at the same time, Cat Stevens Moonshadow playing. I just say I am spiritual. If there really is nothing beyond this realm then the mind is way more amazing than thought. There was a time I was trying to figure out how to explain my thoughts but it’s compli and personal. One thing I have always loved is learning. I think it’s a horrible thing to say a person believes in God but uses it to hate. I often say I believe in the life of Christ is his death I have a problem with. I still have gone to services and even did a bible study where the Baptist pastor knew my basic thoughts. One day going over a part I saw what was being said way differently then was being led and agreed upon. Because I am who I am and because I just saw it differently not trying to say it was not real. I explained.... maybe someone reading this will recall the part of John we were doing. Jesus says he who seek glorification is the one who judges. That didn’t sound like he was talking about God. God doesn’t seek glorification, humans do that because we appreciate and love. Those who were seeking glorification and judging were the masses. Wow just thought how that ties into some of Rens other stuff. I’m sorry if I seem like I’m babbling but my baptism was like the start of wondering what was different and what was similar. I live in Toronto Canada and don’t own a car so it’s either transit walk or cab. The majority of cab drivers are not from here. I love to learn and one question I ask after finding when they came here is what snow was like for the first time. I have left many drivers stunned at how much I understand about different religions and cultures from all over. I made up a simple statement when I was a teen. @@GOATHeardNo need to apologize. As easy as it is to see where Ren's at, it's just as easy to see where you're coming from. I prefer to take people on their intentions than their rhetoric. Which is also a lot of how I am with religion. I'd like to think that any god that exists would care more about a person's intentions than anything else. And if that's not the case, I wouldn't want to worship them anyway 🤷🏻♀️ But I don't need an outside force of *any* kind to tell me to be a good person. Religion doesn't have a monopoly on morals and ethics, no matter what way too many people think 😊 I'm going to do my best, regardless... and if I get judged upon death, that wouldn't change anything I've done thusfar. Just like it feels better for Ren to believe in a purpose, it just feels better to me to believe I simply choose to be good because I can. @@perfectkismet yes thats so true..but you know what, religion isnt anything to me that i value..i value god and his word..forget about religion for the sake of the converation because ppl automatically relate religion to god or the bible..organized religion doesnt exist in the bible..although i see how its helped many troubled ppl in my life including myself..to me ultimately its about god and his word..i understand your atheist so im not attacking you in any way im just letting you know where i stand and how it relates to the idea of religion..im like you, his path will be his..im happy for him either way..and i pray for you as well. but for now while we're here..i love you and i love him. we have different beliefs but we want the same things..peace and love! sorry for me rant and thank you for commenting and expresing yourself! and thank you for supporting the channel!
(Which ironically, is basically what Ren says humanity needs to do in "Eden") So, there, I met you rant for rant, now you definitely don't have to be sorry!
When you have some spare time you should check out some yelawolf bro....i would have yela as goat worthy but he defo deserves to be on goat heard
deffff
Goat unicorn 🤣
Ooh I didn’t know about the new channel.. I hope the safe headphones work for you this is one of those ones that really makes a difference… it’s like he is in your head …lots of love on the new venture… 🫶🏻
thank youuuuu
🔥❤️✌️
💯 Couldn’t agree with you more. Whenever a reactor says ANYTHING about God, people lose their damned minds and start claiming to know what Ren believes today because he said something in an interview a while back. People change their minds all the time and there’s reason to think Ren does too. His lyrics say as much. So unless you’re Ren, you have no clue what he believes so C H I L L.
Well 2nd 😂

Purgatory is a place where you atone for your sins before you move on to heaven. If you are in Purgatory, you are dead.
