I love the morphing liquid nature more than elastic nature of sound sound processing…. I hope it has the ability to play each sample melodically, reminds me of the morphing in Soundpaint sampler, gr8 overview SW 👾
@@SONWU I finally got it installed and I’m using it as morphing monophonic synth, I hope they bring out a synth with this tech’, I love malleable sound mangling. ( I was using Ableton, I put a scaler, from the midi effects before the VISCO plugin to ensure it plays the sound regardless of the keys 🎹 you play from your midi controller. Then on another midi instrument track I put a M4L expression control with Midi in set to ‘ Key Track ‘ , and the assign the parameter for that row to the ‘ Global Frequency ‘ parameter on the VISCO configure panel. So with both tracks midi input armed, the triggered sound will now play the sound chromatically. So it’s basically a Morphing Monosynth . There is a polyphony of up to 4 notes in each sounds , but only seems to work for arpeggios with overtones , rather than sustained chords .
I've been bugging the developers for adding a "sound per midi channel" chromatic mode as well as some other things like chokes etc. Even if they just change the playback sample rate per key it would add a ton of options.
It's pretty hard not to type a ton but here's why I'm siding with Visco rather than Backbone. It's UI is pure eye-candy and its features really make it fun to mess with. Backbone makes it visually hard to see what exactly is going on. Sound-wise, I find that it's more accurate than Backbone, as it doesn't rely on a pre-chosen dataset of samples. If you've used it long enough, you run into the same exact sounds (I'm throwing hella shade to Audialab, lmfao). Time-stretching works pretty smooth but I've noticed that Frequency shifting to lower octaves sometimes lacks full range. Higher pitch works pretty gnarly tho! Something that's being overlooked and that I find really refreshing, is the option to morph two input samples. Really hated to have to rely on Zynaptic Morph 1 due to it's clunky setup. There's some experimental features such as flipping your samples horizontally and vertically; giving you some neat quick new sounds (try hori flipping a Hi-Hat!). Messing with the blob by smudging or pulling also gives you very experimental stuff; Perfect for sound design. Effect-wise, there are similarities, but I personally enjoy messing with the samples as much as possible rather than relying on post-processing. Although.. the effects are pretty slick tho, definitely deserve some love. I think, if you combine user samples + Synplant 2, and then importing all those funky sounds in Visco, might unlock a unique approach to sound design. It's really neat if you'd like to get started to make your own sounds/samples, as I myself find patching Vital/Serum unrewarding (I admit that's my own lack of skill and patience). If there's any other question I could answer for you, let me know :]
I've noticed Machine-gunning, but I highly recommend exporting the oneshots and using a plugin like vital to mess with velocity envelopes and fine pitch randomisation! There's a pretty dope video about it on YT, with the creator sharing the preset for free! :]

can i import my own sounds and samples ??
Sure, I should have shown it better in the video, but I am just dragging my own samples in there!@@sbjncn
What do you mean Witchcraft. On the "Seed" we can all see the number 666.

Thank you! I haven't tried melodic abilities, but the way it's configured, I'd assume its not made for that.

would be quite nice if it would process/load samples in stereo - the 'width' of its interface is just a cheap destructive after effect
Zynaptic Morph with a sequencer added and modulation sources targeted for drums?
It can also pre-analyze the sounds so it doesn't have to "guess" parameters the way that a "real-time" algorithm might.
This visco vst sounds awesome. For drum its my favorite, warm and full sounding with so much variety sounds at ease. Love it
I've had tons of fun with Visco. Would like to invite you all to a mangle challenge and build a collective soundkit! :]
Thanks for the invite…I am terribly busy, but I am sure others would be able to join!
So the drum machine equivalent of Synplant with a similarly high price tag.
That's what I thought too. And audio morphing on a spectral level isn't new at all. Just think of the Zynaptic (former Prosoniq) Morph plugin.
This is so cool! Thanks for sharing. I'm excited to check it out.
Enjoy!
(You got mail)
great overview man. I'm enjoying this a LOT so far...
Cool, nice to hear that ;)
Thank you for showing us this! I downloaded the demo version immediately and gonna hear it for a while
Sweet, enjoy!
Im having trouble adding my own AIF sounds. The result is just distorted playback. However, am I confusing AIF compatibility with AIFF?
wait i just bought this plugin, any way to route it to the midi track your using towards recording off it?
Why does seed under variation in the UI say 666 by default? Haha plugin seems extremely cool though!
🤷♂️ haha
My main question for this is how is it different from Steinberg drum GAN ?
Don‘t know…haven‘t tried it 🤷♂️
This has an unlimited free demo

@@SAIWFY legend ! Thanks for the in depth insight I appreciate it. Gives a run down on both strengths. I’ll take a deeper look at visco then 👏🏾
It's not, it's just a hipster plugin.
Very interesting, I want to put vocal chops and loops into it!
Yeah, I'm going to do some experimentation as well :)
It does very well morphing non drum sounds. It appears to have a limit on how much data can be loaded into each blob.
How do you put user sounds into it? I can't seem to manage to do it
@@frogetbrotak7902 "draw file to sound" I think. It's right in the sound menu.
Any MIDI CC control? Nothing is mentioned in the manual regarding the modulation of parameters with MIDI other than velocity.
You can control some, but not all parameters.
(the developers are quite responsive though, so this might change)
question: is the variation enough to keep fast drumming from sounding like robotic / verbatim repeats?
I've noticed Machine-gunning, but I highly recommend exporting the oneshots and using a plugin like vital to mess with velocity envelopes and fine pitch randomisation! There's a pretty dope video about it on YT, with the creator sharing the preset for free! :]
Secret sauce
How cool is that?! Will have to check it out, I guess!!!
Definitely ;)
Will this run in Pro Tools 2023.12.0 on a M2 Max Mac Studio?
I am running it on an M1 Mac mini, so you should be good :)
@@SONWU I installed the demo and it’s not showing up in Pro Tools 2023.12.0 Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this or has a fix. Thanks
I'm getting error importing drum samples
Maybe contact Forever 89…I am sure they appreciate it!
If you're using Fl Studio, I got it to work on FL 21 by using the Bridged option within the wrapper settings! :]
You gotta change the plug-in to bridged mode if on fl studio
wait is this editing the op-z sounds in realtime?
I believe he’s using the opz as a midi controller for sounds in the computer
Correct, just using the OP-Z as a controller here.
This jawn is kinda ill. Gonna grab it.
👌
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🙏 great work!
the plugin doesnt show in my plugin manager on fl studio after downloading the demo :(
@louie2g I had the same in both FL21 and Ableton 11, was pretty weird... Wait like 3 days and it might just suddenly pop up, like I had.
This is awful, its one of those twisty moustache starbucks gang vsts, 🤮
Nice gatekeeper commentary bruh
In Fl Studio, I can't seem to load my own samples into Visco. They are WAVs, but still wont load
