    Im confused, when I cut the pattern out, do I just follow the red and blue lines at the end of the video? If so what’s the point of the waistband lines? Please help

    Do you have a book? A book on all the drafting rules and stuff? I would really love that because most English drafting books don’t have set rules for drafting. The rules are all different and don’t make sense to why they use them but you seem to have specific rules you use which is what I really want.

      @@shortyylu Thank you 😊 I don’t have a book yet. And I try to explain all different ways for my students to understand drafting, not memorize it.

    Hi, wondering what is the advantage of having a separate waistband compared to just keeping it attached to the other pieces ? thanks

    • @PatternStudio101
      @PatternStudio101  Год назад +1

      If your pants don’t have an opening, they will be the same. Waistband can be separated or attached. But if you have a zipper and button, you need a separate waistband.

      thank you SO much, also one more question. is this pattern inclusive of seam allowance or do i need to add that on ?

      @@velvetcobra5787 All my patterns do NOT have seam allowance.

    Hi, I have a question.. do you have a video on lengthening or shortening the crouch depth on the pattern? I made my first pair of pajamas, pants, and it drops low than what I wanted. How do I just the crouch length?

    • @PatternStudio101
      @PatternStudio101  7 месяцев назад

      If the hip circumference and crotch depth is okay, then you can shorten the crotch length from the waist. If the crotch width is big (from Cf to CB), then you can shorten the rise from the crotch point. But you have to think the thigh will get smaller.

  • @tylerhallare

    Hello, is it normal for the waistband to be a lot shorter than the waist? If the waist line is hip / 4 + 3 my waist would be too big for the waistband.

    • @PatternStudio101
      @PatternStudio101  Год назад

      This is elastic waistband. No zipper opening.

    • @tylerhallare
      @tylerhallare Год назад

      I understand that. How big should my waistline be if I am a 32 waist? Or does the waistline length not matter?@@PatternStudio101

    • @PatternStudio101
      @PatternStudio101  Год назад

      @@tylerhallare There’s no rule. If it’s an elastic waistband, it need be bigger than the hip, so it can go over the fullest part of the body which is the hip.

    so these pants don't need any darts?

    • @PatternStudio101
      @PatternStudio101  4 месяца назад

      @@zeehuss7275 Depends on how you want to make the waist. Because this has an elastic waistband, no dart needed.
