The atomizer is definitely not horrible! Idk what kind of expectations you have but even for a cheapie, it’s a decent atomizer. I’ve never understood how the atomizer has gotten to be such the talking point that it’s become.
Haven’t smelt detour noire but I have Layton. And Layton is heavy on menthol. Smells like Vicks vapo rub. Nothing is wrong with your bottle, that’s just how Layton smells. Let your bottle macerate tho (spray it five times and let it sit in your closet for 2 months). You’ll notice a better smell and more performance afterwards
after spraying it 20 times let it sit in a dark and cool cabinet for a few months and shake it every week, it went from smelling like a trashy bengay mixed with a 2000s barbie scent for women extremely synthetic and sickness inducing into this almost exquisite apple almond complex fragrance and its in my top 5 now, i own the original layton and layton exclusif and i find it easier to wear

the atomizer is one of the best pressurised atomizer of the clones i've tried so far.
Maybe the old batches/bottles have the meh atomizer but I just got mines last week and the atomizer is phenomenal like Dior. Pressurized!!!
