I usually don't compare rides very often but Dodonpa is far more intense in my opinion. The initial launch was like getting kicked in the gut....in a good way. Going over the top of the tower provided the sickest moment of airtime I have ever gotten. I left the ride shaking. All three of us were totally in awe of this machine. To put it another way, I would go back to Japan just to visit this park for Dodonpa and the insane haunted walk-through. Thanks for the comment!
Would it be okay if I used this footage for a video highlighting the history of this fascinating roller coaster? I will give you full credit during the footage shown and in the description!
@jmichael1holmes - Actually, the hill does look and feels a bit different than Hypersonic's. The large tower hill on Dondonpa is more 'spread out'...if that makes sense. Also, the initial trains used on Hypersonic were the same type used on Dondonpa. I can't remember how many different types of trains Hypersonic had but they were different in later years before the coaster was removed.
Hi Sean, could I use some clips from this in a video I'm making all about Do-Dodonpa? I'll credit you, as per usual, of course. I look forward to hearing from you soon :)
Went there once, took ca 2 hrs to get there by train from Ueno station. Paid a free pass and didn't go on a single ride. Waiting lines of 3+ hours on every major ride.
Thank you Bob! I don't rate coasters but as far as what I like in a ride, this is easily one of my favorite coasters I have ever ridden.
this video makes me cry its so beautiful i could watch it on loop for an hour
Many thanks!
That looks like so much fun! Great footage. Love the ending shot.

How do you think we got to Japan? I can assure you we didn't take a boat. He doesn't set off the metal detectors.
Hey Sean! Mind if I use some of this footage in a video I'm working on? I'll provide credit to your channel of course
You got it, Ryan!

Nice to hear from you Harry. Yes, you can use the footage. I appreciate you asking again. If you need a higher quality version, just let me know.
@eeeejanaika - I am familar with Eejanaika but I haven't ridden it yet. I have ridden the prototype in California though.
That's Jim. He pierces people for a living. He is litterally a walking billboard for what he does, and it works.
May I use this footage in a top ten video I'm making? I will give you full credit and send the link to the video when it's done.
Yes you man. Many thanks for asking and I anticipate watching your video.
Looks like a good ride. How's it compare to Hypersonic?
Great shots, too!
@KX250Frider4 - Ha ha. Nope. Just standing on a bridge that the coaster goes under.
Guy with the massive spacers.. why?

0:02~ dodonpa dodonpa dodonpa dodonpa
the only resemblance in this and hypersonic is the hill and drop a 90/90 hill
Yea, what he said. =:^)
Looks can be deceiving. :)
the dude with the piercings looks scarier than the ride.
106 mph.
True, true.
cool
I was at this attraction i think it was 0 to 172 in 1.8 second and not 0 to 106 in 2 seconds !
Why not? Who even cares. They're his ears. As long as he likes it that's all that matters.
