      Frank White for Muay Thai you have to punch quite long, this is generally down to the use of the elbow. If you try to box the same way as you would in conventional boxing then you run the risk of being badly cut.

      +Frank “BandoGodofFrankBlock” White Also think about the shorter punches in boxing. If try to those shortened punches you don't have the range to fit your kicks in. When your punching with extension hitting at the end of your reach your only a few inches away from fitting your kicks in. The elbows in muay Thai normally take the job of the shortened punches you may see in boxing. Same as in muay thai they don't really have a word for uppercut because traditionally the knee took care of the upward angle so it wasnt really thrown much. that's why in some fights you'll hear the announcer talking about the "suk"(elbow) and then the "cow"( knee) landing and then you hear him say in a Thai accent "uppacut."lol

    great video but im south paw, Can you do a south paw video on these moves too or how a south paw would counter

    • @Trainor103
      @Trainor103 7 лет назад +8

      702 Pyrotechnics the first one you could either slip their jab and counter right uppercut, left cross, right hook then kick or use the exact same combo in the video but slip their cross instead.
      The second you'd do against a right kick but of course if they threw their left kick you'd have to go the opposite way.
      The third combo you'd slip their jab and counter cross, right body punch then left kick.
      The fourth counter would be against a right knee and you'd use your right leg to defend.
      Finally the fifth one would also be against a right knee and you'd step to your right and counter right hook....I hope that all makes sense.
