    Hi, Jennifer! In your TCA instructions manual, it says "do not apply...leave-on acid products the day before your peel." So I'm assuming it's okay to continue to use my Lactic Anti-Aging Cleanser (since it's a wash-off product) the day before and the day of the peel. Or should I use something gentler? Also, this is going to be my first time doing a TCA peel. I also do microneedling. Should I wait several weeks after a microneedling session to start a peel? And how long should I wait after a peel to do another microneedling session. Thank you in advance for your answers Jennifer. I love your videos because you are extremely knowledgeable.

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  6 лет назад +2

      Yes indeed you can use your cleanser the day before and immediately prior to a chemical peel. You may also use it afterwards every day - *as long as it does not cause you irritation - I do not think that it will.
      With micro needling, I would give it a good week in between either treatment. Micro-needling generally heals very quickly - but we want your skin 100% before performing a peel. Same thing when you are going from peel to needling. Make sure you are completely healed before trying another modality.
      Thank you so very much for the complements! I certainly appreciate that!!! ;)

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  5 лет назад +2

      deenpac Good question. With needling you are going to want to skip a week here and there. Do your needling that week instead of a peel.
      As for sweating. If it’s a light peel you are generally safe to sweat a bit. With a deeper peel like Tca, you do need to avoid the sweating as it can build up under the skin and cause bubbles of liquid underneath - not pretty.

    THANK YOU for this Great video!
    I have a couple of questions:
    1. I am latina light skin with yellow undertone. Wondering if I still need to use melanine inhibitor...?
    2. I have some light to medium pigmentation on my jawline, near or underneath my ears. The area measure about the size of the head or a regular spoon so its not super small or super large either. Can I apply TCA only in that area? if so, what percentage is good for just spot treating an area like that? Or would it be better to do a even peel all over face?
    3. If you do suggest to spot treat with TCA, do I also need to spot treat the area with melanine inhibitor and/or renoids on these area for two weeks prior to the TCA spot treatment?
    Again thank you so much and for all the awesome information!
    Look forward to your response so I can shop accordingly!

      Anette Europa yes. Your skin falls into the line where we want to pretreat. Anything not white, really needs it. See this video ruclips.net/video/oCkWVuF79Ys/видео.html
      Correct with Fade Bright and Retinol. Those will help so much and will prepare your skin.
      I suggest the Tca 13% since you said this is just a lighter spot of pigmentation. No need for super heavy acid. Do 1-2 layers just on your spot (5 min in between layers) and then do 1 on your whole face.

    Question for the people that only want to purchase the TCA 30 peel. My skin is wired, because my mother is light kinda like you. My father is a bit tan, not that dark but a good tan color. So my skin has always been weird, sometimes it looks like my mothers and then changes looking like my fathers. All in same day, it doesn’t matter if it’s sunny/hot or cold/not sunny outside that day. I like both skin colors but truthfully I think I look more older with a tan with my facials features and taking into account my weight. I look more younger when my skin seem to resemble my mothers fair side. I like both but I’m starting to lean more towards the fair side. Also if I get a mosquito bite it leaves a scar like a bruise afterwards. They leave but after a while. Because my skin would always change shades throughout the day in high school my friends called me a chameleon 😂. Oh my heritage is Mexican, I don’t look Mexican according to my Mexican friends and because of my skin changing they couldn’t get what my heritage was. So if I’m only going to purchase the tca 30 peel from your website, cause your girl still job hunting. For preparation for my peel what products can I use from the store. For instance I have a Loki acid soap that I purchased. It’s mainly to use on my hands since I wear hoodies all year around and the color of my hands don’t match my arms and the rest of my body. Also my hand joints seem to appear more darker. Since I was little never cared how I looked or my skin since I was considered overweight and ugly. Also I have brachydactyly type D thumbs. And hated them and didn’t want to bring any attention to my hands. Am I able to use my Kojic acid soap and make sure to moisturize with oils and hand cream prior to your TCA 30 peel. And after wards continue to use same protects. Or should I just moisturize with oil and hand cream.

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  5 лет назад +1

      Spoon Full your skin needs to be pretreated prior to any chemical peel with Fade Bright or another melanin inhibitor. This is to help reduce the likeliness of PIH *post inflammatory hyper pigmentation.
      You will not be using a Tca 30 at all. That is too strong for anything other than treating a scar, mole, cross or the body. Please only begin with 1-2 layers of the TCA 13%. Then, after your peel is rinsed and skin patted dry, apply the Fade Bright again.

      PCC MFT hello there. We suggest discontinuing usage a couple of days before any peel. This is because retinoids make your skin more sensitive. This doesn’t bother everyone though - so you can use it up to the day prior if it isn’t a problem for you.
      Then, once the peeling is done you can start up again.

    Question- I'm confused about the retinol as prep. I have a prescription retin-A and my dermatogolist said to make sure and stop the retin-A before you do a chemical peel. DO you agree with this? And how many days prior should I discontinue. However, she did say that it was excellent to use after, as it aids in peeling. Just wondering your recomendation. I just purchased the mandelic and tca 13%. I'm going to do the mandellic first for 4-6 weeks, then bump up to the TCA. Thank you your videos are great

      RetinA to prep is perfect and quite mandatory (retinoids). Just be sure to stop use 4-6 days PRIOR to applying your acid peel.
      After TCA or Jessners peel we do not recommend applying retinA ... because this is an acid and will cause irritation. We suggest a milder, non acid retinoid like Granactive or Retinol or Retinaldehyde instead for the first few days. We call this our Luminosity Method.

    Hi, Jennifer! really love your video. I have a question, what is the long term difference: TCA one layer every week, VS 4 layers once a month? how about other peels? lactic/glycolic? one layer once a week vs 4 layers once a month? with one layer, i almost have no down time, but with 4 layers, definitely peeling and few days of down time

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  5 лет назад +1

      With many layers you are going to reach your skin care goals more quickly. A single layer will take more treatments to get the same end result. The other part of that is purely - what works best with your life. Some people would rather have the constant light flaking and others would rather have only one to worry about. You always need to work your way up to those 4 layers though. Never start there. Begin with 1 or 2 layers the first time. Each time you do another peel you can potentially add on one more layer - if you feel you need it. Most people are good with about 3 layers and doing a peel 1 or many 2x per month.

      Hmmmm. That is very interesting. A fade cream will not cause the skin to darken. They are filled with things that lighten the pigmentation and help to gently slough (lactic). *Do you have before/after photos and this is very noticeable on them? Are you avoiding the sun and using an SPF of at least 50 every day? If you aren't then this will all be in vain and your spotting will get darker. I have dark skin and I want to do the salicylic acid peel. So should I use an acid serum or a retinoid? Or can I use both? And what times of the day should I be using the one that’s best for me?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  4 года назад +1

      I recommend a weekly 15% Salicylic. If you are working on pigmentation, pre treating with Fade Bright is always a good idea. Use it 1-2 x per day for 2 weeks prior to your peel and continue to use it daily throughout your peel series. If you wish to add a Glycolic Serum and Retinol to your regimen.... I recommend a Glycolic 15 Serum in the morning and a Retinol .10 at night.

    Can I use glycolic acid toner when prepping my skin for a jessner peel?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  Год назад +1

      I would think that a toner could be ok if it is acidic enough and this is a 1x option that you have at home. pH of a 4.5 or lower ... and as long as it does not have leave-on ingredients to moisturize the skin. Glycerine and such. That would be 100% against the concept of Stripping the skin.
      For future peels though, be sure to have either a high percentage of alcohol (90+) or pure acetone to truly strip the skin.

    Hello. What strength of TCA would you suggest for ice pick scars for Africa American skin? If you don’t suggest TCA what treatment would you suggest. Thanks 🙏

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  5 лет назад +1

      mixdbeautea Tca is the treatment for ice pick scars. 20% or preferably 30%. Since the acid is only applied INside the scars, the high percentage of 30 is generally not an issue at all. If you also want to do a full face peel though - pretreat with a melanin inhibitor for 2 weeks and only use the 13%.

      Mind you we are not suggesting to apply the acid to your lips - but around them. There are some that choose to apply the acid to the lip surface itself, but the excessive dryness and chapping concern me. You would have to be extremely heavy with petrolatum to keep that from cracking.

      This really depends on your skin's sensitivity and the percentage you are applying. Most do very well with 2 layers of the TCA 13%. You can always purchase a lidocaine or prilocaine type product and numb the skin prior to an application. Wash well and do the prep solution.

      @@indianaajoness Well... at the 2 day point you are only just getting to the point to start flaking. The skin takes a few days to dry ... and then it can start around the nose and mouth and radiate outwards. You should end up with some light flaking for sure.

It contains 12% hydroquinone, 6% kojic acid, 2% niacinamide & 2.5% hydrocortisone. I also have Retin-A cream 0.025%, But haven't used it since I started the spot cream, because I didn't know if I could use them together? Is my skin prepped enough for the peel? Or should I include the Retin-A for 2 weeks before I do the peel? Or do you recommend me using your Retinol serum and Fade bright? Thanks so much!

      Hello. This is something troubling to us. We do not know what product/peel you are even speaking of. You do not mention What peel you used or What percentage. How you applied it. How long you left it on... Layers applied. Basically... WHAT DID YOU USE? Did you use it correctly? Nothing but a long "general/complaint/warning". Are you ready to share? ... or should this just be removed as spam?

      For the record I have been using hydroquinone for about 9 months and took a break and I have been using the fade bright cream with healthy ingredients. I decided to do the peel because those ingredients never worked for the hyperpigmentation which is the reason why i’m even more frustrated because these “remedies” to heal the damage already don’t work to remove the skin issues in the first place. I did a TCA 20% 1-2 layers before the summer, and did nothing. I restarted the session early September and this time I tried to get the frosting effect with 4 layers. it frosted and it peeled but it left the skin worse and even a larger patch that I didn’t have before and a weird circle the size of a nickel on my cheek which is very dark and didn’t have before, my other spots also seems darker.
      I truly feel the pain every time I see my face, the make up doesn’t cover it enough and I got nothing but regrets! You can remove my message and claim it as spam to keep comments clean but people have to know that this product has no value when the risk is much larger if about 80% of permanent damage making the whole situation even worse then when I started. why should we take chances?? your product is more risk than value. You should be more compassionate of the people that trusted this product because it ruined my face. I have ordered now Vitamin E oil to see if I can heal the scar, Rose oil and also ordered Civant which is also natural so I hope that helps me recover from this disastrous experience. I threw the peel on the trash.
