    I have very thick, oily and acne-prone skin…and I started with 30% glycolic acid right away. I actually left it on for more than 2mins the first time (I accidentally threw away the package before reading the instructions, sigh), it was closer to 5mins. My skin was stinging and slightly reddened with the acid on, but it wasn’t too bad, and went away after I washed my face. My face felt so, so smooth afterwards. I’m doing it once a week to lighten a few hyperpigmentated acne marks.

    This is not what I imagined a chemical peel would be when I read ACID peel!! Seems too good to be true considering how simple it is and how it has multiple effects! Really cool.
    Are you allowed to wash your face after the treatment? And how soon would I be able to go out in the sun after a treatment?

    • @imperial.dermatology
      @imperial.dermatology  4 года назад +5

      The doctor neutralizes the glycolic acid for you, otherwise it keeps working. So you can wash your face again before going to bed. We recommend sunscreen and hats for the next couple of day ( and generally since you want to avoid UV radiation damage). But there are no restrictions, you can return to regular activities right away! This is the "lunch time peel" with no true downtime!

    How many times would you need to do a chemical peel before noticing a major difference with acne scarring?

    • @imperial.dermatology
      @imperial.dermatology  4 года назад +3

      Acne scarring is tough, actually one of the toughest problems we treat. So it depends, if the scars are superficial, you should see results after 1-2 treatments. But usually these scars are deeper, needing treatments such as microneedling, CO2 lasers, stronger acids (must be done by a professional only) or subscison (lifting the base of the scar with a needle).

    • @imperial.dermatology
      @imperial.dermatology  4 года назад +1

    • @imperial.dermatology
