Summary sloka 8 to 12 : when we understand how the gunas function, we can know how they influence our mind ; tamas also is born from pakriti , the predominance of one of the 3 gunas can cause imblances in mind , when tamas is predominant, no clarity no aim no target, just living because all have done this , the mind is completely deluded ; problem is not because you have rajas or tamas or satwa but if we have too much of these gunas , then we may be put to suffering and confusion. so what is important is gaining equilibrium in gunas , As the gunas are not visible, we have to auto asses to know our mind better so that we can know our own gunas :
first understanding our predominant guna and infuse more sattva then only we can transcend them. So from the observation of the symptoms we can deduce the kind of gunas which is predominant in us and then we can go to the final step that is equanimity.
