Man, thank you so much for the build and showcase video. I've been working on a thorns/rake build and I see I'm on the right path! Also side note, so happy it's not another quills video.
Replenishing Toxic Skin (the second passive) is considered as the passive effect from Wound Drinker's affixe. So as long as you have it skilled and mobs attack you once, they are poisoned and take increased thorns damage. This may potentially free up another skill slot for Counterattack dependent on whether or not you can do without an active poisoning ability.
Scourge might be even a better option for that 50x multi damage as a means to get enemies poisoned. Without any poison ability you have to wait for mobs to hit you to get poisoned from toxic skin and I am not a fan of that personally but you are correct!
Hi there Ulfhednar, thank you very much for all the work and effort into your videos, especially while involuntary competing with all those other youtubers who are just going for the next broken build with mystics attached to it. I have a question, but before asking I'd like to share some infos. I'm a casual gamer and I was running the usual Storm Feather Leveling Build which took me all the way into T2. There my dmg began to decrease. De I wasn't able to find an Ancient Sepazontec, nor a Banished Lord's Talisman at all. Plus, after getting to T2, defeating Tormented Bosses like Zir or especially Duriel and Andariel became a real pain. I found an Ancestrial Razorplate and I took almost all of my materials and switched to your Rake Thorns Build and I am so freaking happy to make it work for me + I am havin' a blast with it, too. I managed to beat Pit LvL 55 with 8mins left on the timer and I can do T3 comfortably. I have 180 Paragon and as it goes with humantiy in general, I'd like to progress a little more which finally leads me to my question: Question: I have a varity of Ancestrial Uniques and I am very unsure of/about which gear can be switched without breaking the build while expanding on it. By switching out the various Legendary Aspects with those from the uniques I am fearing rather lose than gain. Can you be so kind to tell me how to advance further with itemization before having to change to a different build? Further more, against Bosses I am constantly running out of Vigor with Vortex on Left Mouse Button. I have to use Rock Splinter instead. I also found your BIGGEST THORNS Build, but I am still lacking an Ancient Sepazontec. Is 750 Sepazontec enough to run the build? Thank you very much for any advice.
Hey man, thanks for watching and your input! I have couple suggestions by just changing few things and to also check out my newest build that is a totally different league: ruclips.net/video/QVDVaTIQias/видео.html. Lets get to upgrading this setup I suggest switching aspects as follows - on boots put duelist aspect, pants go interdiction, amulet redirected force and conceited on the ring instead of inner calm and I believe that will boost your damage craaazy high! Also for vigor resource uptime try to get wound drinker ring as high as possible to 7 in the aspect and loyalty helmet the same. You need to have ravager active all the time for the upgrade that gives you resource generation. Let me know how this felt and good luck
@@UlfhednarTV Thank you very much for your time and for the answer. I already watched your newest video, but sadly I don't have a Shroud of False Death at all. I have to find GA Staff gear, right?
@@lovejohnson1337 I actually thought about and it might be worth for speed clearing. Damage would be lower but if u temper thorns elsewhere should be fine

Definitely going to try this. 1 bil damage is more than any of the other classes r doing, but its still 100k x less powerful than the quill. This class is broken in the best way. Hope they buff the others
While leveling would you still recommend using the rock version? And I saw you have a new payback version on your mobalytics page. Are you going to be doing a new video on that and how soon into level 60 can one start transitioning into either rake or payback build?
You can totally go with Rake for leveling instead of Rock splitter. New Payback is coming out most likely tomorrow as I am waiting for a new patch today that will fix two things that dont work - paybacks aspect and revenge glyph both not scaling thorns as they should. The transition between the builds I have is super easy as they use the same board just different skills here and there and couple of items
@@UlfhednarTV thanks for the reply bro. currently level 40 using the rock splitter build. shall try swapping over to the rake build then transition into payback. super excited.
@UlfhednarTV another question if you don't mind answering. I've never played thorns before. Does stuff like weapon damage and your overall attack power / sheet damage increase it at all or is it only sources of basic attack / thorns?

YO! Switching to this from your Rockbiter :))) almost comfortably doing t3 w my bad gear, I do find that my armor is quite low & I run out of vigor on single target? any tips? (paragon lvl143, still leveling glyths)
Heyooo, you are probably missing Sapping legendary node from Paragon, that gives us 15% vigor casting the same skill 3 times in a row and also max roll wound drinker helps. Ravager passive upgrade in skill tree makes this Rake build have literally 0 issues with vigor
Cool build! Just what I was looking for. I know this is no Mythics *needed,* but if we get some, are there any you think would be beneficial or would you be taking a loss over what’s listed?
@UlfhednarTV It does what I need it to do for this build. Mainly using it for the AoE and the unstoppable. Also, maxed out helps it's damage output. It's like a weird perpetual engine thing I'm trying to accomplish here. Obviously the Razorplate is a key component here, as well as CDR cause you want to have all your skills at the ready.
Assuming Visc Shield gets nerfed what do you think about dropping the 20% max hp from runes and proccing vortex from runes instead to gain Counterattack?
I still think HP will be good even after the nerf as thats still a damage increase with more HP but that also sounds like the play tbh, could test after nerf for sure!
Awesome build, just transitioned to this from TOD and with sub optimal gear it seems stronger already. What do you think about running yens? It covers movement speed helps with resistances and has the addition of casting one of the cooldowns
That can absolutely work especially early on where you struggle with resistances it will be less damage though because active thorns with armored hide are missing but sure thing! Thanks for watching brother
