I respect 2k saying no its not ready, and pushing it back. as a buyer I'd rather that than release an inferior product at a sooner date.

Crazy that the NFL wants 2K to prove it when EA has dropped the ball for the last 10 years..
Things like this are exactly why the NFL is beyond a joke. Combine that with another corporate, disconnected company like EA and you have the dumpster fire that is madden. The NFL is worst run league in all of sports.
Maybe they are making sure it’s quality is better than madden?
2K won't have to prove it. Wait until the sales results a month after release. The fans will speak, and the results will be deafening...

@@jayblack7495 LOL, those sales results will only be because people want to see for themselves what the game is like. You know, the clowns who say "you can't judge a game unless you buy it" or some nonsense.
I hope they’re able to make it 11 on 11 and be as detailed as possible with and just use a unique art style as opposed to “photorealistic” graphics. If that’s what gets them around the simulation rules I’d be extremely excited.
Graphics similar to the fox animation would be welcomed by me.

I just wanna be able to do the things you can do similar to NBA 2k , going backstage , quest , a city , endorsements, walking out the tunnel from the locker room etc 2k23 is so realistic and us football fans deserve the same

EA sports was lacking when 2k routinely made football games. Now EA is even more of a greedy corporation. They don't want to compete. Hence why they bought the license in the first place.
EA knows they can’t compete in with 2k when it comes to sports games that’s why they will never give up the license. If 2K could make a current Gen simulation NFL game everyone would really see how bad Madden really is.
NFL 2k became the best with 2k5 and still has been ever since.
I still think the right play would be to make a college game. Could have beaten EA to the punch. And likely get exclusives to a handful of top teams would have put EA out

Here’s my idea on what 2k could do: release a game every 2 or so years but between the time every nfl season they update the rosters and keep it fresh and then they repeat that
After 2026, the NFL needs to not re up on exclusive deal with EA.
The NFL pushing back on a holiday release shows just what they know. That would've made sense because everyone would've bought Madden already and then bought the 2k game cuz ya know, that's what kids want for the holidays... Video games.

I'm calling it right now, there will be no 2k football game. They cancelled that months ago. They just don't want to tell anyone because they know the backlash would be too much.

2k always keeps this under wraps till a month or 2 from release. They usually don't even release any type of gameplay for nba2k until a few days before the game is released.

2k needs to figure it out sooner rather than later before NFL reups with EA on the sim rights.

If they release basically a graphics update version of 2K5 it would be better than the latest Madden if you're honest it would be better than the last 8 Madden's minimum if you're a super madden fan.
The agreement that the NFL and EA have it what's killing it for us true football gamer fans..I miss the options we used to have, heck I even miss GameDay sometimes lol

I could see a 2k APF with franchise, lt let us customize leagues settings and do the Era thing where we could possibly re draft the draft classes through the years. Im sure people will be able to share their league settings like in regular 2k. and recreate the NFL or a version of it

An NFL game with the same type of franchise of NBA2K is still better than anything from EA in 15 years
Impatience aside, it’s a breath of fresh air that we’re going to get something with passion for once in the football gaming realm. 2k would be stupid to release any news about features or gameplay more than a month out as EA would likely try to copy and paste it into Madden lazily. Take your time 2k, football fans know the product you will put out is gonna bury the Madden franchise deeper than the NBA Live franchise.
A sports reporter that claims to have friends at 2k said it gonna be a full simulation nflpa (‘REAL PLAYERS’)football game wit generic teams and stadiums

I hope that 2k runs EA right out of the football gaming scene. I trust Visual Concepts enough to know that they will push out the best football games no matter what the market or league looks like.
I think they should have released this game this year, because next year if EA do college football right that will take over football games, we have been waiting for college games to come back for years, NFL games will be a after thought !
It’s gonna be interesting how EA will respond to this. Hopefully both games will try to 1up each other

Would rather have a deep, non licensed (moddable) game similar to 2K8 than some half assed arcade game.

Hopefully they’re going for immersion.. like they actually had a halftime show, they’ll probably have referees .. the sidelines to do more then just stand there and do nothing better animations which madden could easily do.. but when you’ve pretty much been the monopoly for so long, why go all out if you don’t have to.. thats just business. If 2k does this right the next madden would be the best madden ever just because they finally have competition

In these games it’s the little things that count. It’s the ESPN tickers, real announcers, the choppy player movements is what I miss about the 2k football series. And they let you play historic moments etc.
I love Madden so so much BUT a good/great NFL 2k game means a better Madden. All for this
Even if it is an arcade style game, I am willing to bet it will outsell Madden. Even back in the day, it was so ahead of its time.
I just want a NFL game that isnt a glitch fest every year. Im sure 2k will have many growing pains with their football game.

I played 2k5 more than any madden I’ve owned. Still holds up. Glad 2k is getting back in the game lol

Honestly, NFL should give the license to both EA and 2k, so it's gonna be competition who makes the better game
I have commented on this before... All they have to do is leave off the Kicker and Punter and make the game as real as possible with real physics and hit detection and ball mechanics. Without the kicker/punter it makes it non-sim
There's no loop holes. The NFL isn't going to allow that. You can't just remove one player and say "gotcha". They want the game to be more of an arcade experience.

Right, the games won't be 11 on 11. But you can't just remove one player and then have everything else about the game play like a simulation game, and say it's technically not simulation. The NFL wants an arcade game, not something that plays like a sim game with one less player. 2k will try to blur the lines as much as possible, but it's likely not going to be anything like 2k5 or 2k8 if that's what you're expecting gameplay wise.

I agree with your point of 2k wants another shot at simulation football. If they put out a decent game and madden numbers drop because of it I feel like the NFL would have no choice but to open the simulation license again.

EA does not have the license of the sport of American football itself, just the NFL logos and likeness... you can still make a true football game just without nfl players... folks will mod it anyways
7:12 if they really think that they don't need exclusivity they're smoking crack, if any other company starts making sim NFL games people will stop buying Madden like they've been threatening to do since Madden 06 on 360.

No bro, no. The days of nfl 2k as we remember it are no more. This new game was already stated by 2k themselves that it won't be simulation style football. So it won't be what we remembered sadly. Probably some nfl blitz style over the top game.
Just give me some NFL Blitz action and I'll be satisfied
2K made an All-Pro football game based around the best players of the past. Kind of like MUT but only hall of famers and that was the basis of the entire game. I think under the simulation license they would be able to do that and it would be a great start to rival Madden.
