Thank you so very much Dr. Sullivan for your videos. I had a Basil Artery Stroke (brain stem) caused by a crack to my neck from a chiropractic adjustment. I had the symptoms you talked about. I could not sit up without falling over to one side or the other, I could not raise my arms up or walk, and I had to be carried into the hospital for an MRI that showed a stroke. At the time, they told my family I had less than a 1% chance of survival and a 10% chance of functionality, I was 38 years old and a marathon runner. However, my after-stoke symptoms align with these as well as Gaglia Stroke. I'm fully recovered now, but as you said, a lifetime of recovery. I still have problems swollowing at times and I often choke when taking in deep breaths, I have chronic sinus and ear infections and my eyesight is punk and changes a lot, and we can't seem to settle on a prescription that is standard (trifocal). When I get migraines sometimes my right face falls as if I am having a stroke and I drool. My face is numb, the head is numb but the back of my neck where the brainstem is very tender always. I've had problems sleeping since the stroke and require sleep aids, (melatonin is what I take now), but my neurologist has me scheduled for a sleep apnea study next month because of my breathing issues. I have learned to live with a lot of pain, but I meditate and practice yoga therapy techniques that deflect pain and for the most part, my life has been very rewarding. My family often says, if we knew what we are in for, none of us would have signed up! I'm a totally different personality, we went through some very intense therapy for my family to help prepare them for the 'new me' and to let go of their mother and wife. I had a wonderful team of doctors and therapists and family and a company that paid 100% of my medical. Life is wonderful, but you have to fight for the good stuff and be willing to take the baby steps and celebrate the new You!

Thank you, this was very helpful, my brother has a brain stem stroke and locked in syndrome. He is still in critical care at the hospital and the doctors couldn't believe that he is alive. As a family we fought hard to get the care he needed, Now the doctors are baffled as to what is happening. Videos like these helped us to recognize the stroke.

Thank you so much for this information, i live in new Zealand, suffering pretty much everything you have mentioned, seen specialists, neurosurgeon, had stereotatic treatment, but no one has explained my condition the way you have. I feel so alone, searching for information, no mention of rehab or even confirmation that its a stroke, swelling yes, possible microbleed, most likely because they just dont know unfortunately. You have given me more info in one video since diagnosis of a cavernoma in my pons. Some days i feel like im fighting to stay conscious and the electric shocks! But o feel like no obe is really listening seriously. Thank you so much for understanding our brain.

This is excellent and very affirming. So many of my symptoms of my post-pontine stroke are so difficult to describe having to do with dizziness, mild confusion, feeling overwhelmed by crowds of shuffling people at the farmer's market or in a busy restaurant, the fatigue for seemingly no reason that I sometimes wonder if it is all in my own head (which I suppose it really is) or if it is really real. But now I feel like it is real, which is reassuring. Thank you.

Thank you SOO much for this particular video. I am an RN with trauma experience. and my 49-year-old sister with only two years of DM & HTN hx just had a left-sided acute Pontine infarct during a major oral surgery procedure. we are currently at a “high-ranking” stroke hospital and she is progressing faster than expected with her speech and dysarthria, but her right sided weakness is not going so fast. Plus she’s got some weirdness where her gaze is deviating to the right (???)
As a family, we’ve been doing lots of PROM; PT/OT unfortunately has been minimal, despite doctor’s orders. Hoping to get her to stroke rehab sooner rather than later, since she is young and strong.

ohh, the statistics are what really hurts. I live with a Brainstem Pontine Cavernoma. I have a little hope that it is located on the right side, therefore, the fatality statistics it seems are less and survival/recovery is more likely when it only affects one side. I am very fortunate as of right now. But I live in fear for my life every day. Some days are better than others as I try to suppress the fear and anxiety and live present. Thank you for sharing, this information was helpful to solidify what symptoms/syndromes are common with this type of stroke to prepare for mentally. I've been told what to look out for and some of the risks, but not all of them. So this was good information to have.

Also, I wanted to say I cried uncontrollably, it just happened and there was nothing I could do about it. I also had hiccups for 6 weeks that drove me crazy. I had aphasia really bad, but it has gotten better over the years, I now just stop talking and say, I have aphasia and I can't talk anymore. My brain knows what I want to say, but I can't say it. Also, I lost a whole lot of memory and have not recovered it to this day. I did not have cognitive during the beginning of my recovery, it finally stuck after the 3rd year and I was able to retain memory from that time forward. So I'm sort of in between two varied strokes you talked about. I find this very interesting.

I have Small Vessel Ischaemia and Osmotic Demyelination Syndrome and possibly MS now. A year ago I had a Stroke in my PONS that scrambled them so bad. I have 2 different Neurologist that both look at me with CRAZY BIG EYES in disbelief saying " You should NOT be walking or talking right now" !!! My brain is doing all kinds of crazy stuff and I have seizures all the time but it's like the Neurologist are afraid of me and to be my Dr! Believe it or not there's not alot known about these Brain Injuries and they kept hiding it from me until I figured it out and finally cornered one to tell me the truth and boy did I get the FINE, yes yes your DYING, and NO of course there's no cure and then I got now there's nothing left that my office can do for you and I got escorted out! WTH was that right.. guess that explains why all my Neurologist before that after between 1-4 months dropped me due to them leaving the practice! True story honestly! Even this new one is acting up as I'm waiting on him too set me up with Home Hospice and then I think I've decided to donate my body to science after I'm done with it so hopefully they can learn from the many Medical problems that I now have to over the past 5-6 years. Before that I was never sick, never any problems beyond allergies! Anyway came across this Channel and was like WOW this is awesome. I subscribed and rang the bell so hopefully you will do a live show soon so we can talk. Loved your info

wow thank you Dr Sullivan for this, I had my pons stroke in 2017 at a age of 39. Woke up 05:00 in the morning with a massive headache, I couldn't stand and I had dubble vision. also hade numbness on half of my left tong and upperlip/teeths. Took me 8 months to fully recover, didn't receive any rehab, the aftermath is all in my eyes especially when I'm under high stress also my left side gets weaker (get's better after I sleep). My bad mood got worse after the stroke so I do a lot of meditation for this and for the stress.

Only God's mercy nano-medication can cure pontine hemorrhagic stroke.
This is the fact and is not a fairy-tale story.
If hardened blood vessels can't restore its elasticity, it's impossible to cure
      stroke.
If endogenous neural stem cells (NSCs) can't be triggered for regeneration,
      it's impossible to cure stroke.
By the way, does your beloved mother have neurogenic bowel and/or bladder
dysfunctions? What's her sys. as well as dia. pressure?

I am 70 and had a pontine stroke last July. I am weak on the right side but about four months ago I developed pain in that side.
I live in the Sierra Nevada which has few services so my husband bought me Flint's Fit Mi and its Music Glove. The weather is quite warm and my arm, shoulder, and hand are quite swollen on that side. What would you recommend?
Thank for your videos which are a lifeline to those of us without much help.

I had a stroke in 2013. When I had it, I had a period before that I would lose my balance and ability to stand. Than the night I had the stroke (hemorrhagic) I noticed started when my hands no longer functioned, i couldn't stand and had to crawl back to bed). Symptoms went away next morning. I did not see a doctor for 5 months. My question is this - my cognitive ability has been diminishing and my wife has noticed my personality is changing. Ithe right side of my body is very weak still after 5 years. I also have difficulty getting a normal sleep schedule. My MRI showed a stroke in the pon area (hemorrhagic). i have pain from my scalp to arms, legs, and my right eye. My hearing is impaired. Is there hope for full recovery?

Central pontine hemorrhagic stroke patient, aged 57, has been treated by
God's mercy nano-medication for 20 months and got recovery. It's plausible that
your wife can be cured by nano-medication too.
Before nano-medication treatment, the said patient had neurogenic bladder and bowel
      dysfunction, dysphasia, dysphagia, etc.
This is the first time in human history that pontine hemorrhagic stroke can be cured.

    Dear Dr. Sullivan,
Central pontine hemorrhagic stroke patient, Dec. 18, 2019 admitted into Taiwan University
Hospital, Taipei. From June 25, 2020, Mr. Isaac Kao, the said patient, has been treated
by God's mercy nano-medication. Now, he'll recover completely soon.
This case shocks Taiwan's medical society already.
Of course, western medication forever can't effectively treat and reverse pontine hemorrhagic
    stroke. Why?
    1. hardened blood vessels can't restore elasticity by western medication.
    2. endogenous NSCs (neural stem cells) can't be triggered by western medication
    for regeneration.
Anyway, nano-medication is not fairy-tale story but God's mercy. Nano-medication
    is based on:
God created man from an extract of clay.
In 2009, Nobel Prize of Physiology/Medicine was awarded to prof. Jack W. Szostak
who has been studying God's extract of clay for years. Alas, until now, he doesn't know
what's the definition of God's extract of clay.
God bless your family and you !
    David Chi-Kang Lo

  • @davidlo168888

    Dear Dr. Sullivan,
I keep you informed again that the said central pontine hemorrhagic
stroke patient, aged 58 now, is nearly completely recovered. Hopefully, in the very
very near future, I can give you all deatils.
Stem cell therapy is to help those endogenous adult stem cells (ASCs) to clear
away so-called inhibitory molecules so that its regenerative potentials can
be triggered for regeneration. Autologous and/or allogeneic stem cells transplantation
    are entirely wrong.
God's mercy nano-medication should be the only Regenerative Medicine, stem cell therapy.
All glory belongs to God !
