honestly, he is the most interesting of protagonists. In jrpgs, protagonists tend to be more like Flynn, but Yuri being a bit of a complicated mess kinda makes him feel more human, and i think all of us can really connect with him, especially how he doesn't see things as black and white. oh, and he's got a sense of humor, so that helps.
Fun fact: Yuri Lowell is such a popular protagonist in the Tales of series that “Bandai” had to remove him from the popularity poll because it would be unfair for the other characters

This is among the reasons why I love Yuri as a protagonist. Not only is he pretty looking badass, but he's got a lot of great qualities. Anti hero and unafraid to go against rules but still heroic and an idealist. An experienced kind of hero. Someone who loves the fight. Truly one of the best protagonists there is out there.

I think what really, REALLY sets Yuri apart from any other Tales protagonist is how good the localization and voice direction was for English. Most JRPGs do not get this level of treatment.
Yuri was such a great character. I loved his and Estelle’s relationship in that they had a deep connection, but it clearly wasn’t romantic in nature. In many ways, he was more like a mentor to her, similarly with how he was with Karol, though far more subtle.
I feel like Yuri is the type of person that's simply not into romance with anyone. I mean, there's the occasional flirt with Judith, especially when they're alone together, but it never really goes anywhere. I can picture him a few decades older as a lone wanderer type of guy. Going around the world doing jobs for brave vesperia and dishing out punishment to evildoers who are beyond the scope of the law.
Yesss, it was so cool to see! Honesty all of the character relationships in this game were amazing and they all really balance eachother out. My personal favorite character(s) have to be either Yuri, Rita, or Zagi (Because hes so insane, lmao). They are all so interesting!
Speaking as someone who just finished their first run through the game and didn’t even know Troy Baker was the original voice until 2/3 of the way in, I couldn’t make the distinction. Maybe like one or two instances but they both sounded like Yuri to me.
Ah geez. Vesperia was my first Tales of game, played it when it first came to the switch like, last year... and now all the memories of my playthrough are coming back... what a fantastic game, and Yuri is definitely one of my favorite protagonists... period.

When I learned that the games actually give you grades on battle performance, I knew I had to play more of them.

I never played Tales of Vesperia, but I enjoyed this funny video. Ever since I've seen the trailer for Tales of Vesperia getting a Nintendo Switch port, I began to gain a liking for Yuri though watching Super Smash Bros. Ultimate moveset and support videos as well as having Yuri as one of my wanted Bandi Namco reps.
Yuri is so cool, it almost seems he isn't in the right game. Everything looks easy for him , and he is a lot more Savage and violent than anyone. He sees throught every lies, from Patty or the old man. He even get stabbed and is like "oh ok"
Yuri didn't notice him because of the vase. He only noticed him because Flynn would give him an earful nagging later about the vase as well as breaking and entering if he didn't notice him sooner.

He had big shoes to fill. It's jarring at first but you get used to it and appreciate it, given what Bamco did to Baker.
