Until I've seen these comments, I've always thought the love Yuri put in his food wasn't dirty in the slightest and it meant like love and care
I got the "Again...?" skit during my current playthrough and I took that personally

Listening to some of these again, I have noticed that they have rearranged some of the skits to fit both Flynn and Patty into the conversation.
to be fair, Flynn seems shoehorned into the game

11:16 A lot of voices changed over 10 year gap or more. 😅 I honestly did even notice judys or yuri’s voice change. Estelle was a yes, her voice is much older and carols got lighter in tone as well. But now I can hear Judy’s new voice actress and it’s not the same charm feeling. 🤷♂️ and Yuri is yuri. I prefer the original but the new one is very similar

Seriously though....I get thst Flynn's a terrible cook but that's all the more reason to make him cook...or at least make him cook for himself! If they keep on trying to save their taste buds like that he'll never get better! Honestly I'd probably be the only one trying to get him into the kitchen so I could help teach him...because god knows it's the only way to bring his cooking skills to salvation in the long run!

Too bad it also affects gameplay. 9/10 times Flynn's food will be a failure.
The stir-fry veggie sandwich concept isn't completely wrong, really. I used to swap out the bread for tortilla wraps instead, though.

@@diamondseraph9369 I understand ^_^ Raven and Zaveid can do that too.. . but Zelos... oh god... I find him just a little bit too much... Zaveid is masking it a bit, given he's had his one true love taken from him before (thanks to Eizen) so I'd rather think his perversion is more like a "complex" he's hardly even aware of (or just couldn't control.. still not making excuses for him though). But the others have absolutely no excuse at all... more like they're just playing out a trope you find in countless anime MCs.
@@diamondseraph9369 you'd probably hate Clemente from Tales of Destiny. And Loni from Tales of Destiny 2. And possibly Moses from Tales of Legendia. Hell, you should probably just stop playing JRPGs in general. 90% of them have a perverted character. Whether it be Crow from Trails of Cold Steel, Edgar from Final Fantasy VI (though he's more of a womanizer than a pervert), and Yosuke from Persona 4. It's gonna happen.

The token perverted character is always gonna be a thing in JRPGs and anime. It's not exclusive to Tales
@@GiordanDiodato I do agree that games have anime have sterotype characters... and even the "best" is never an exception. Superman and Spiderman have stereotypical elements... so do Yuri, Velvet, and Sorey of Vesperia, Berseria, and Zestiria. But there are ANNOYING stereotypes, in much the same way that there are CHARMING ones.
I find Yuri and Zelos falling into the ones with somewhat "annoying stereotypical elements" such as the "smart-ass/I'm-too-cool-for-school" hero image or the "I'm--so-broken-I could-kill-you" mother/virgin/b*tch archetypes compressed in Velvet.
On the other hand...
When fans call Sorey "bland" that's different. Blandness is not a stereotype or archetype. It's your perception of a character based on personal taste... which means any character of any archetype can be "bland" based on how you see him. For me Sorey is never bland. He's the type of hero who gets the job done, has the guts to defy war generals and politicians and isn't as petty or whiny as Alisha when it comes to being "acknowledged" for his status or respectability.
But that's beside the point.
Going back to your point, I'm not insulting Zelos or anything in case you see it that way... it's just that the archetype used to define him is "annoying" even when you find it in other characters in other games or anime. It's an "overused token" that can be handled well or simply abused.

It's definitely flynn, I think some of the skits with him play up just how bad his cooking is, with one memorable skit being the definition of "he meant well, but he didn't realize how bad he was" and every other cast member trying to stop flynn from cooking.

Estelle and Rita sound the same to me, but that's probably because they kept their same voice actors. I know Yuri has a new VA, as for the others, it could be because it's been over ten years, so their voices have probably changed or they're out of practice

Yeah...Judith was always my main (since me being a girl I prefer to play as females, and while I can play as Estelle and Rita just fine 1. It's a little stressful playing as the healer, and 2. It's annoying when monsters always interrupt the spell casting...) in the Xbox version so I got really used to hearing her voice actor...so when I started playing the Ps4 version Judith's new VA always annoys me to no end because I'm not used to it and it triggers my autism...I mean...it's not so bad that I can't play it but it just really bothers me because while it's close to her original voice it's still different enough for me to notice...

Okay, since AfrowJow (that other guy uploading Vespy skits) is like a "loser" in accepting comments about the skits, I'm gonna be "super" polite so as not to "antagonize" the fans... (But gods if Vespy keeps on acting like such jerks demanding only positive comments, this fandom is lost.) Anyways... the skits are just cringy for me. Ok... cringy because the game is rather old so the jokes are like "sappy" and not the type of sarcasm you'd hear these days, which I think is closer to Edna's. If you disagree with me that's okay. But please don't accuse me of things like "lashing out with negative emotions" just becoz I'm a zesty fan who didn't like a tiny part of the skit.
I understand exactly where you are coming from i may not agree fully but some have not aged as well as others and the fanbase has a huge divide now. Me and my brother played all of them but after xillia i loved it and he hated it and we havent played one together since because he refuses to play any new ones. I think both new and old games are greats but the humor now is great.

I really love this game and its characters, but I have to admit it's far from perfect.
I guess my sense of humor is outdated then.
Also, maybe I'm not fit to say this, having only played one tales game, but like, you don't need to compare them to each other all the time, it's usually better to just enjoy them individually.

@@GiordanDiodato Skits and jokes can be cringy in many Tales games. But nothing is more cringy than Aerith telling Cloud "Don't fall in love with me... it's not real..." in FFVII remake. It sounds like something ripped from a sappy Nicholas Spark love story.
In any case, I just don't see why a simple complaint about Vesperia makes me "mental" while these "oversensitive" and "rabidly jealous" fans can trash-talk Zestiria 24/7 for 5 years and never get tired. ^_^
