      JAHRONMON They switched to 2 bigs as i expected and Cavs defense was much more balanced this time. Cavs need Jr Smith's shots and they needed at least 1 of the Marion- Jones-Miller trio to play well. The trio looks like more washed-up then I thought so they can hope that JR can hit open shots. I think the series will become 2-2 eventually.

    You can say Bulls were hitting some hard shots they will probably miss next time, but Kyrie was hitting some ridiculous shots that he might not make either. Bulls overcame 30 from Kyrie and a near triple double from lebron. D-Rose was really playing well yesterday, not just in scoring but finding open guys. Bulls are going to win this series in 5.

    • @Jraiser786
      @Jraiser786 9 лет назад +3

      Derrick Wade Kyrie hit the same shots he always hits around the basket. It's not like he was hoisting up threes from midcourt like the last Bulls game. Honestly him and LeBron had average days, if their playoff experience so far is any indication. Rose, on the other hand, shot unusually well from deep and we can expect that to regress to the mean.

    • @Deathtour2929
      @Deathtour2929 9 лет назад +1

      Derrick Rose did make two tough 3s, which he likely won't make too much more this series. But he always was able to make tough shots in the paint same with Kyrie. Iman Shumpert had a great night from 3. Made 4 of them, a couple of tough contested shots. Scored 22. Again he likely won't have another game like that. That Brooks 3 you saw in this video is what he does all the time. He takes those long 3s fading away early in the shot clock that has coach Thibs pulling his hair out. But he has shown his whole career the ability to make them so I wouldn't be surprised if he continues to make that tough shot.
      I'll say that Cleveland shouldn't be too discouraged. The longer this series continues the more Butler might wear down guarding LeBron. Rose hasn't shown any consistency this season, mainly with his shooting. So Rose is likely to have a couple bad shooting nights this series. If LeBron shot the ball a little better, they might of won last night. I expect him to be more aggressive scoring the ball. He can't score under 20 and expect to beat this Bulls team 4 times out of 7. The only thing they should be discouraged about is the Rose/Gasol combo on the pick n pop. Cause it is getting better and better the more they play together.
      I would like to see Chicago use their bench more cause it's deep. I think it could cost them if they use the bench like they did in game 1. Snell and Mirotic were great for them down the stretch this season. Especially Mirotic, he was one of the best 4th quarter players in the NBA. But Thibbs has barely used either of them in the playoffs. Snell could be huge this series, allowing Butler to rest some. If Thibbs is asking Butler to guard LeBron 40 min a night, and still provide 20ppg in the series, I think he will be disappointed by the end of the series.
      Either team can win this series still. Bulls need to find a way to get easier shots and the Cavs need to fix their pick n roll defense and get more scoring from LBJ.

    • @Jraiser786
      @Jraiser786 9 лет назад

      We Can .Not Sing
      Well you put out a lot of opinions here. You're crazy if you think the Bulls will be able to shoot 55.6% from three again, whether their shots are uncontested or not; they were by far the lucky ones here. Which is good news for Cleveland.
      The biggest thing imo is Rose's health. He's shown all year that his numbers decline significantly with only a day's worth of rest, so Cleveland should be enjoying that tomorrow. LeBron did have an off night for him, but a night like that could still have gotten the Cavs the win.
      For some reason Thibs hates to play his bench. It's a bit understandable because Mirotic has been atrocious as of late and Taj is only really good for rebounds, but I'm not sure about Snell. I keep expecting Butler or Rose to go down and not get back up; human bodies just can't take that kind of punishment night in and night out. There were some hard hits last night that should have had Chicago fans knocking down Thibs's door, but I guess they're used to it by now.

    • @Deathtour2929
      @Deathtour2929 9 лет назад

      *****
      I was trying too say the Bulls will likely not shoot as well from as they did. I know I didn't organize my thoughts very well though. I was mainly bored and rambling along without any clear direction or point lol
      But to be clear, I was saying Rose will not make most of his 3s the rest of the series. I would be shocked. The 3s he made last night weren't easy for the most part. I don't expect him to make step back 3s with a hand in his face. And all year he has been inconsistent with his shot. The playoffs has been no different.
      But I was also trying to say the Bulls hitting 3s isn't new. They were 2nd in the NBA this season 3pt% and top 5 in attempts. Butler and Dunleavy are more than capable of hitting 3s. Dunleavy always has been a good 3pt shooter, and Butler has made great improvements on that end this year. Mainly on the catch and shoot, which he needed to do playing beside Rose. So them hitting 3s last night isn't a surprise. But I was saying the more series goes along Butler might wear down which will hurt his offense. At least you think, but he has done it all year so is it crazy to think it will continue... I was also saying the same thing about Brooks.. He all year has been good from 3, and he takes that deep fading 3 a lot. Of course he is going to miss that shot, but he can make it. He does it all the time..
      Mirotic hasn't played well in the playoffs and I know that's why Thibs hasn't used him. I do understand that. I only brought up Snell cause it's one player who can give Butler a break and still bring good defense and at least a player capable of making the 3.

    Lebrons bad game aside I see no real way the Cavs take this series and I am rooting for them. Love was a massive part of what they do offensively and Expecting Lebron to defend both their guards, their forwards AND their centers the entire game while playing 40+ minutes then slamming him in the media for not having to energy to average 30 seems extremely unrealistic. Even Jordan just had to guard one guy and score points lol.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W 9 лет назад +1

      DrGanja99 It depends. Thibs only has 1 year left in his contract after this season. Would be silly for management as much as they don't like Thibs to tell him to find a new team and take the rest of the money with the contract while they are at it.

    • @adamgottlieb5818
      @adamgottlieb5818 9 лет назад +1

      To be honest, if Thibs were gonna get fired, it would have been last year. Think about it. Rose and Gibson have contracts ending in '17. The bulls signed Gasol and Mirotic for 3 years ending in '17. The bulls will have team options to keep McDermott and Snell through '17. They tried getting Jimmy to agree to a contract extension. They'll resign Jimmy this summer anyway. Jo, the heart of the team, is a free agent in '16. Most of the guaranteed contracts end in '17. Obviously some of these guys will get resigned. If the bulls were that concerned about Thibs, he would have been fired last year so the bulls didn't have to waste another year under Thibs.

    • @DrGanja99
      @DrGanja99 9 лет назад

      Adam Gottlieb Or this yr could have been the last opportunity for this core group to get a ring before they started to rebuild or change some things. There are just too rumors about the tension between Thibs and management to ignore. Your points actually make a case for getting rid of Thibs.

    • @adamgottlieb5818
      @adamgottlieb5818 9 лет назад

      DrGanja99 Not really. They already scrapped a good chunk of the core from Thibs' first 4 years. they moved on from the core, but they kept thibs. To me, that doesn't make much sense to keep him an extra year if they wanted to fire him.. Especially considering Hoiberg got knocked out in the first round by a 14 seed.

  • @MBogdos96
    @MBogdos96 9 лет назад +4

    Might a match-up zone stop this on crucial possessions?
    Also, maybe LeBron has to go just a tiny bit back to his older Cleveland days and pull out two or three monster scoring nights. Maybe that will get the Cavs playing harder.

    • @Cueil
      @Cueil 9 лет назад +3

      MBogdos96 The Bulls are pretty adept at keeping LeBron from going nuts when Butler is playing.. also a couple of key bench players hardly played this game... Kirk is a -12 player... his offense and defense both are minus on the floor while better defender and scorer Snell played hardly any minutes

    • @ItsAllAboutGuitar
      @ItsAllAboutGuitar 9 лет назад +1

      MBogdos96 I don't think Lebron is up for the challenging of carrying the entire team. He needs help, and doesn't really have it...well, Kyrie...but that's not enough.

    • @rodneyscott8576
      @rodneyscott8576 9 лет назад

      MBogdos96 LeBron can score 50 any night he chooses. He knows that to win consistently, he has to have other people score, because most players who don't score consistently, usually give up on defense. This is a conundrum, as the rest of his team already doesn't believe in defense. I think that injury to their two starting bigs will be the downfall of the Cavs. Seeing as how Love will probably be a Laker or Celtic, I honestly don't know what they plan on doing to win a championship in the future.

    The big man rotation is going to kill the cavs. It gives the bulls a lot of options for the pick and roll/pop. I'd like to see Thibs use a Taj and Jo pairing as they complimented each other really well last year in the 78 games they played together. They only had 49 games together this season and shared much fewer minutes each game. If Thibs can make that work, the bulls have another offensive weapon they can use.

He is a non threat out there, and with lebron guarding him, any dribbling towards his range seems like a disaster waiting to happen. A similar question.. Why don't the bulls use a butler/pau pick and roll? It seems to me that butler has turned himself into a more consistent shooter than rose at this point.

      As a bulls fan I thought they (The Cavaliers) did what they were supposed to I felt Lebron was naturally going to have a below average game in points because of Jimmy Butler but still do his thing on the boards, & assists & that Kyrie would go off and be almost unstoppable dropping thirty. & Iman had a nice game too & I seen some pretty nice offensive boards by them too but I knew that wouldn't be enough even with them playing how they were supposed to play. With out a Michael Carter-Williams on Derrick rose to force turnovers (even though that didn't really work either) I don't think Kyrie can stop D-Rose from completely going insane. The match ups on my Bulls are too crazy and we have guys on the bench that can step up and also play defense idk man.

    • @adamgottlieb5818
      @adamgottlieb5818 9 лет назад +1

      Because Butler was subpar on offense. Shump isn't a bad defender, and it didn't help that occasionally James was put on him. He'll take the shots when they need him, but a lot of the pick and rolls were run through Rose and Gasol, which is fine, but I expect the pick and roll to change up a few times during the series. It didn't help that Noah was pretty uncharacteristically bad that game either and that Niko only saw 2 minutes of action. Thibs usually keeps his starters in to face starters and bench players to face bench players. The cavs have to go to their bench eventually, and that's when we'll see bigger leads.

      willemdee Bulls in 7? I think Bulls can win in 5. There are mismatches everywhere and Bulls just have to exploit them to win easily. Cavs will put up a fight, but with those mismatches I don't see them pushing to 7. We'll see though. If you're talking about the Finals with Bulls winning in 7 then I don't know. Golden State has a lot of weapons and they have some pretty good defensive players (andre iguodala, bogut, green). Iguodala would guard Butler, Rose and Curry would cancel each other out, Green would neutralize Gasol. It would come down to the depth of both teams. I say Golden State in 6 because they have home court and the difficulty of the western conference would make them better prepared

    N secondly....kyrie's pnr defense was terrible...I'm assuming Cleve adjustment will be to hedge then help of jokim if Noah n the game....even tho kyrie gave us 30...he didn't even attempt to get around screen...let alone come with a late contest...how much you think that's gonna hurt Cleve...cause at the end of the day...it's all about effort

      Yes he did, kyrie did that same shit to rose in the regular season. Not to mention they tried to pull a KLove on Drose

      Did they? That's really nice from them, trying to injure a player who has fought through several major injuries and has never given up. Very respectful. I hope the Bulls beat the fuck out of the Cavs so LeBron and his bitches learn what real toughness is

    Great job coach nick for the breakdown...just two things for you or my fellow bulls fans to comment on...mite be blasphemy..but do you/you guys feel like jokim should get the boozer treatment...I mean how many layups does he have to miss..or how many times he's matched up with a shooting guard defending him n not even looking to score will eventually become a detriment...I love jokim..n when it's all said n done..he needs to end up on our coaching staff some how...but he's terrible around the basket...not as effective at in the high post anymore..n will continually guard some kind of perimeter player for remaining of the playoffs "ONCE" we advance...why do u guys think...

    In al seriousness coach, how much do you think LeBron gets to run plays/have a say in coaching situations and even GM duties. What do you think the effect is? Do you agree him being given that freedom?

      armin38822 So is Chicago's offense. They run basic sets, they were just so deep this season it didn't matter.

      armin38822 The weapons are limited. Kyrie and Lebron individually are monsters but the rest of the cast doesn't really mesh well. Love and JR Smith to an extent added a bit of dimension to their play.

      armin38822 Longtime Cavs fan here, I wish I could say something to the contrary but it is so true and it drives me up the fucking wall every game. I mean it's great we have Kyrie and Lebron who can make their own shots, but they can't always make the buckets they want when they're defended by 2-3 players. The worst part of every game is when they draw all the defensive attention and kick it out to our role players on the perimeter and they brick an ungodly amount of wide open looks. We easily could have won this 1st game had only 3 of those shots gone down. That or they idiotically hold the ball and give the D time to reset. I should be bald and voiceless by now. Of course Kyrie and Lebron each did their have their own fair share of bricks and idiotic shot selections. Not to mention Lebron giving up on D in the most ridiculous moments. How in the hell do you just let Kirk Hinrich just blow right by you? Holy shit someone needs to slap him upside the head. My only wish is that David Blatt gets fired and we can somehow get Mark Jackson during the off season, regardless of how this one ends.

      ( I just realized how fucking long this is,but read on you're gonna like it...I know you will)
      You really can't blame anyone. I feel like they would be fine if Kevin Love stayed healthy. Simple offense,high pick and roll but is deadly when LeBron + Love are doint it or Kyire + Love. Maybe it would be enough to win it all but without Love the team is just not that good. At least not good enough to win a championship. And I totaly don't agree about Blatt's firing. Even if some of the most respected coaches were on the Cavs bench,they wouldn't be able to do much this season because they didn't have training camp. If I was a Cavaliers fan I would feel just fine. Kevin Love is probably staying and the same goes for Kyire and LeBron without question. So there you have your real big 3 and the best part about it is that 2 out of those 3 guys are still pretty young. Eventually this Cavs team is going to win a ring. Is just not going to happen this year. Don't worry. You are in a very good place as a team. Next year is when Cavaliers really start doing some damage. Who in the east is going to hurt them in the next 2 or 3 years ? Chicago team is not that young. Pau is 35 years old. Same with Dunleavy. Noah,Rose,Gibson are always in some kind of pain. Then you have Washington with Gortat,Nene and Pierce. So Wizards are going to have to do a little bit of rebuilding to. Then you have Miami who's season is always going to depend on D-Wade and you know how that goes. Bucks are to young. Toronto is..well Toronto. Brooklyn is fucked for the next 2 years. Then you have your rebuild teams like Phila,Orlando,New York,Boston and Pistons. Who else is there ? Atlanta's A game even this year is not good enough to beat healthy Cleveland at least in my opinion. So only Pacers are left and Charlotte and I only see maybe Indiana doing something in the next years that could upset Cleveland. You see ? You are going to destory the east in the next few years.

    Coach I don't think the cavs can get past the bulls theres a couple of players that have been on there for some years now plus the bulls have 4 big men that can control the paint. surprised noah didn't show up but he still had some boards. the cavaliers big men didn't have that much cleanups rather then a few that's why they have kevin love but now that hes gone there done. the only way the cavs can really win is if LeBron and kyrie are scoring like crazy for every game but we all know LeBron cant do it alone he gasses out too quick bulls will win the series 4-2

    lebron had his wosrt season in 8 years, regressing as a shooter career high in TOs, lapses on defense. expectations too high.
    turnovers wont stop and hes not going to dominate offensively like years past

    "Coach Blatt or Coach lebron" - Disrespectful and unfortunate thing to say.
    As Coach Blatt is one of the more experienced coaches in the NBA, certainly one that proved himself more than most coaches you see in the NBA, that line was extremely disrespectful just to get a few laughs from your younger audience. I stopped watching the video right there.
