I've never heard of steps recorder before. Its was quite a surprise that this feature exist in Windows 10/11, but it seems like a handy tool to explain stuff for boomers
The events happening in event viewer before the error can tell you what is also going on. Generic Critical error... Check time stamps on errors and the last couple before the gap in time usually point you to the problem.

Steps recorder is unexpected and useful part. As a Helpdesk dispatcher, I find it useful during guide creation.
Clever tip to get to advanced system is Windows key+Pause/Break
