- Forgive me for putting this up as it's so cheesy! haha! I found it while I was looking through my tapes. It was always made laugh that Bruno started playing his synth in a shop and everyone played it perfectly without hearing the song B4! haha! maybe they all had Perfect Pitch?:-)
such a good song. My mum showed it to me yesterday, now it is officially my favourite song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember watching fame as a kid and always remember this song. Bring back the 80's pleasssssse. There was so much love and happiness. :o))
Brilliant song. I remember seeing 'Fame!' when it was first shown on British TV. I'm so old...
This song is still famous in Manila.... Go to an 80's bar (for some reason, only in high end hangouts) and the place explodes when they play it. It was amazing; witnessed it myself.
for me it was 1982 when it first showed here in the states. I was 18. what great memories
This was so good back in the day, used to love the show in Ireland in 1982,sorry Leroy is no longer with us, remember VHI doing a musical dedication to him.
Stuck in my head since the 80s this is the first time I have seen it since then, woke up with it in my fucking head!
When I worked at a radio station in New Zealand in the mid-1990s one of myu fellow DJs & I found the 45pm vinyl version of this song & we absolutely thrashed it on air. The record version has a slightly different vocal arrangement & I prefer that version, although it was good to see this one again after such a long time.
I was at boarding school when this was on in the 80's, we had to behave when we did out homework or we weren't allowed to watch this!!!!
I just love the enthusiam Valerie Landsbeg show in this video clip. Great song too.
Don't you be ashamed for putting this up. There's plenty of us who really enjoy hearing this again!
This was my early teenage years......I loved this show.........
So 80's... yet still some taste of 70's!
Always someone spinning in rollerskates..
not hard to believe that Valerie was high as a kite during this
I was very young back then.Seventeen,i guess!SAUDADES!
I love this song!!!! Thanks!!!!
I love this, it's like it was 2003 all over again
LOL Loving RUclips... you can find anything. I've thought about this song since that original airing and now I get to be a teen again. And then I realize that Valerie (Doris) is 53.
Many years ago I saw a group sing this song at the state Beta convention. They had won their district. I've been looking to find the song again. Their lead singer sang some extra his.
soon be 30 years old. god time flys and waits for no one
i love this song!!!
very nice! naalala ko kabataan ko dito..
Pure cheese. Love it. Reminds me of my childhood.
Thanks for sharing this, that is so cheesy its good. Its so true what you said in your video description - these random people know the song already and can play all the perfect notes... well thats tv for you :)
@SHC87 I think it started airing over here in the UK in 1983. Allso laughed when I saw that SM58 with early snapin in Doris's fist.
Steve, I think I got you beat. I actually sought this out because the song was stuck in my head but I didn't know where it came from. I'm almost embarrassed it was stuck in my head all these years from this. Talk about bubblegum music.
OMG, this song is 30 years old !
Series 1 and 2 are out on disc - 3 onwards hasn't been released yet. Fox have home video rights.
I love this...
Love this song :) Gotta love Doris
Best song from Fame
CAMP AS F@@@ - LOVE IT........
DVDs duly ordered of first two series. Will have to see if we can licate the rights paperwork for series 3-6 so we can tell Universal where they are...
IIRC, the good old Beeb co-funded series 3-5 along with RAI and some others...
Pookysaturn, I love both Fame and Glee, idon't agree at all with your glee comments, but I do think fame did drama a lot better than glee.
Love this
@akilahbee I totally agree. I'm watching Fame on cable relving my tween years and suprised that I found this and other songs on youtube
Love it!
The first ever record I ever bought !!!
The arrangement is brilliant in this, I don't know why people are knoccking this song here. This is twenty times better than the theme from Fame song which did far better at the time.
It wasn't cut- it's on the episode.
Just watch the rollerskater...he's hilarious in this video
Nice song!
Valerie Lansberg was gorgeous. I totally fancied her.
William Albert, I hate the theme song to fame aswell, well more the beat to the song more than anything as it makes my skin crawl.
Wayne Holmes from Sydney,Australia.
@DaveWBedford Bruno's father bought the synthesizer
Valerie .. when will you come to my local music shop :)
I was brought up with 2 older sisters, who was right into the Fame crap. I had to pop back to relive it. Exorcise a few demons.
and there was born... Acid House.
God, I dont get why and I hate to admit it...but I listen to Iron Maiden, Metallica, Wumpscut, VNV Nation etc, but I still find this tune very catchy!
Whatever became of these actors? Do any of them still appear in anything or did they all end up on hamburger stalls?
Listen to the synths...don't you just miss the 80's?
no he died about 4 years ago. he was hiv positive and ended up dieng from other complications and liver failer. it was very sad.
The lead singer was off her face on cocaine, acid and vodka. She admitted it on Justin Lee Collins bring back fame documentary
@MrGarratt1 Forgot I put this in!!!
Thursdays after TOTP, wasn't it?
wonder what they are all doin now and what they look like!didnt leeroy die?
You may mock but this sure beats High School Musical.
Hmm - somehow a better singer than during the mawkish audition under her mother's hawkish gaze (melding Alan Parker's film and TV series together)
Do you realize how fucking messed up on coke these guys were when they shot this video? Valerie Landsburg clearly tripped and fell face first into the snow. By far the most wrecked of the lot. Truthfully, it is frightening to watch this in hindsight. She could easily have ended up being the Corey Monteith of that show.
Regardless, Glee is gee...Fame is fabulous!
reminds me of regis
@fatsdom
Thats why its called HI - fidelity....
I bet the guy in the music store got pissed-off with the lot of 'em!
@loosewheels1000 just one commenting on it, that being you.
desdemona was the best song....
yeah that was funny as fuck. She can't remember anything from 1982 because she was off her head! Lol (but very tragic of coarse......yet very funny!)
I so hated this show. Now I see I still do. I remember the theme song's lyrics: 'I gonna live forever, people will remember my name'. Well, well I do declare. Fame truly is fleeting. And that's a good thing.
ist das von den 20 hahahhhihihihi
@fatsdom Which goes under who cares. sit back and enjoy the music.
oh god this song it makes my ears bleed!!!
oh my god! Lee's singing is hideous, thankfully the LP mix is far superior to what was shown on TV. There's also a major chunk of lyrics that were added to the album version too.
this is even worse than the beatles, and that is saying something!
Love it!
