On 2/15/2014, Team TFPF shed a bunch of happy tears as we finalized Miley's adoption and celebrated in her new "palace." It was a magical moment. Miley walked the red carpet, ran up and down the stairs, and was greeted by a crowd of supporters who clapped and cheered her on. Miley twirled around in the living room and pounced on squeaky toys to acknowledge her "fans." She jumped on a few beds, rolled on her back, and finally took a seat on the couch with her nurturing mom. Miley knew she was finally HOME SWEET HOME!
Miley's mom, Toni, was selected among +500 applicants, and we quickly knew she was "the one" for Miley. Together with her late-husband, she raised a total of four rescue Huskies during their 40-year blessed marriage. Her veterinarian gave us a glowing recommendation. Toni also had an army of animal-loving friends (including an actress, a former Mayor, and a reputable animal rescuer) who vouched for her as a responsible, caring pet owner. Her entire home was designed to accommodate Husky-type dogs, like Miley, who may often dig holes, escape, and exhibit prey-drive.
When we first met Toni, we, too, found her to be a warmhearted and thoughtful person. And there was an immediate, indescribable bond between Toni and Miley. During our home-check, Miley would not leave Toni's side in the backyard. She even tried to steal a croissant off the dining table. It almost seemed like they were long lost family members!
Both Toni and Miley also understood each other on a much deeper level. As Toni wrote in a letter to Miley, "It seems like we both have been broken and have a second chance at a new life..." Toni lost her beloved husband to Parkinson's disease and shortly afterwards her elderly Husky went into the light. She also suffered from breast cancer, and had to put on her suit of armor to fight and win this battle. Toni no longer needs any surgeries and is doing fantastic!
Miley also had to overcome her struggles in life. For many months, she had to survive on the mean streets of L.A. all alone, cold, and hungry. She scrounged around for food and slept on a pile of trash. She battled with severe malnutrition, bloody sores on her body, and Demodectic mange that nearly shut down her immune system. After being rescued and given months of proper care, Miley is now a healthy, happy-go-lucky dog!
Toni and Miley were clearly meant for each other. And we sincerely wish this mother-daughter duo many, many years of joy and happiness together! We also want to give our deepest gratitude to our supporters who have helped us save Miley and give her this fairy tale ending!

Me and I'm so glad he was saved. What a beautiful puppy. Then again I'm glad when any animal is saved. The ones who adopted him sure went all out and are not poor. He lucked out in the end.

I just read an update today. I thought that someone else had adopted Miley, but she's still in the original rescue. They took her back in when Toni Bua died. There have been many applications submitted, and they are carefully considering all of them. Huskies are not suitable for everyone, so they're looking for the perfect family. You can get frequent updates on many of Eldad's rescues on his Hope For Paws Facebook page.
This is sad but I'm sure Toni took excellent care of Miley while she was alive. Bless her! She seemed like such an amazing woman. I hope Miley is adopted by someone just as special as Toni. Miley seemed so happy by her side.

Right on! My dog and I are together 99% of the time. She's a support dog for me, but really I think she needs the emotional support just as much. I adopted my girl 4 years ago right before being dumped at the doggy jail for being an 'nstigator' . She's such a good girl!

What a beautiful ending, to a horrid beginning. Miley is one gorgeous dog and looks so extremely happy, as all dogs deserve to be. Thank you, for helping Miley and all of the other less than fortunate animals, who are so desperately trying to just survive, against all odds. I am on my 3rd rescued dog, who might have ended up being put down, if their circumstances had been any different. Even the dog I have now was one day away from her owner taking her out and shooting her. I told her I would take her and the woman just shrugged her shoulders at me and said to take the damned dog. This was almost 10 years ago and though my little girl still has fears of slippery floors and of the bathroom, she is one spoiled and happy old girl. I have carpet runners all over my house, just to accommodate her being able to get around the house. She follows me everywhere, except the bathroom, so when it comes time for bath time, my husband literally has to carry her bulky body to the tub. When done, we have to lay out a line of towels, so she can confidently leave the bathroom, with her dignity in tact. She was born two days before Christmas (this I learned from the previous owner's daughter and that her mom used to keep my baby in the bathroom and would kick her and her siblings, when they got under her feet.) and I received her on Valentine's Day, so I consider her the best Christmas and Valentine's gift, ever received.

What stunned me: the original 'trash pile' dog turned out to be, once rescued, fed, vetted, medicated etc..simply beautiful. In full flesh, running about the new house, Miley's glorious to behold! I mean PHYSICALLY as well as spiritually. Proving once again - all animals are special and deserve our care and kindness.

The transformation is incredible. That dog went through such a terrible time, but has completely recovered and is healed inside and out. This is so heart warming.

I saw Miley's rescue video first and cried like a baby... and then I saw this video and cried like a baby... What a beautiful girl.. She has so much spirit.. After a long time of waiting for Miley's loving forever home, SHE FOUND IT!!!!! I am so happy! A sad dog who was living lonely in a pile of trash, transformed into a loved and happy little doggy. There's always HOPE!

The before and after is absolutely jaw dropping, I cant believe its the same dog, I had no idea she was a husky. so glad she was placed with someone with so much experience for rescue husky. The joy on both their faces was so gratifying.

Th Fuzzy Pet Foundation does wonders for animals that never had a home. Watching Miley's story, I just started crying and couldn't stop crying for Miley's. I'm so happy Miley has a wonderful home to enjoy his new owner and be a normal dog. Miley deserves everything he has now and be happy. When she was found i wasn't able to tell Miley is a husky, now i do! Look how beautiful she is. I didn't cry before about anything i saw on fb or yt, but watching her during the 1st vid... I shouldn't watch too many vids like these on a row. Miley and Toni both have incredibly beautiful eyes. I wish you lots of love and fun together!

Who would have thought that the Miley that was rescued in those pile of trash that looked so sad and in so much pain, can give this much energy and love with everyone she sees. I applaud the HOPE FOR PAWS team in their undying love for animals. And to THE FUZZY FOUNDATION with their big heart in funding and helping these rescued dogs.This bring tears in my eyes. I also have 2 children with paws and these videos makes me love them more and more and more each day.
