52:00 Camera Crew getting a little spicy on the mic 😂 Brian, you're a blessed man to have a wife who not only puts up with your hobby but actively supports it.
I just watched a video with R/C SAYLORS on the exact same plane & there was no mention of "reverse thrust"! Nick lost one wheel strut panel right in takeoff & the other one during flight! Thanks for sharing, Brian "Crash" Phillps & camera crew!!! Fly safe!
I want one! I have a 1.5 and it’s a BLAST to fly and I haven’t even tried more advanced maneuvers. This one looks as agile but smoother. I agree with Brian that wood flies a little bit better than foam. Thank you, Brian, for your very comprehensive reviews. By far the best on YT.
A lucky trip to the Casino, and I might have one. Balsa is the way to go. Been there and built many. I hope E-flite continues to produce more aircraft like the Timber. I might add, trying some clear or white silicone bath tube caulk to bond the landing gear fairing on to the gear. It will give it some flexibility. Thanks for braving the cold temps to bring us this video.
I live my aviation dreams through you BP. No where great to fly here and the last time I wanted to hire a camera crew it looked like she wanted to grab me by my throat. So I just watch the vids. And dream.
Thank you for posting this Brian. I have one of these on my wish list at Horizon Hobby, but I wanted to use your links to help you out. Thanks for jumping this quickly! wjm😀
I nosed over my FMS Maule in a few inches of sticky snow, on landing this morning. Too many gawkers parked on my runway, soooo... looks like im snow doggin' 😂 It all worked out fine. I know how to chop my throttle quick once her tail starts headin' North! I installed the squishy pair for the 1.3m supercub on her. And with a little grinding, they fit and work great! Not as heavy as Dubros. Sweet Wood Stiffy Timber! Can't wait to see her in better weather. And on floats?!? Oh yeah 👍 Thanks for freezing your tucas' off for us, Pham 😂
So I gotta ask myself... as beautiful as it is, will it be 3X as fun as the 1.2m warbird I bought last week, which uses the same batteries as the rest of my fleet? Is there room for two 3s batteries? How does it fly on a 4S? I think I could talk myself into the $800+ for a good wood plane, but not if I have to buy batteries at $140/each.
I'm a greenhorn. My first plane was a TT Evo 1.5 and my second was a UMX TT Evo and I'm thinking the third should be this one. Thanks for the work ( in tough conditions ) from you and your lovely camera crew. I consider your channel as the best in the hobby!
Nice job as usual Brian and Megan! I am glad HH is coming out with some balsa planes. I went balsa a while back and never went back to my foamies. Would really like to see you fly it with the floats and do some snow landings like a real bush plane😉
Ooooooooh YEAH! Sweeeeet plane and awesome camera work. Cold? Yeah mucho coldo there for sure. Flew over my snow covered farmers field earlier in the cold too...but no way as cold as you guys. Thank you for doing this vid in the bitter cold for us. You guys are the bestest!
Sweet machine Brian. I can feel my skin burning from the cold just watching you. Are you going to build a hangar for all of your planes? Your basement has to be overflowing by now.
Yesss please, I want one, I hope they start doing other modri, especially a P51D would perfect. Thanks for your excellent videos, B&M are the best. Phil in the UK. 😊
I like to watch 'em bounce ;-) I mean when the tail drops! Still sounds 'dirty'. At 25:07. Very nice flying Brian and ditty the cam work Meghan. Be well from the snowlands called Michigan :)
Hi Brian, thank you for taking the time and effort to prepare the videos around the E-Flite Turbo Timber SWS. One quick question: You mentioned briefly in this video you liked the 6S 5000mah vs 6S 7000mah battery better. Was it the weight difference that made you select the 5000mah battery?.....Thanks again to you and your crew for your commitment to our hobby.
I've done it before, and it's fun, but our overall weather has been pretty terrible, not just snow. Finally, we'll have a nice week, (Heat-Wave at 34-36 F each day!!!) but then of course, I'll be super busy at work ;(
Hi there, I recently got me an SWS, too. I went for the ARF-Version, as I had had most of the necessary electronics already. I have to admit that this is my first plane with LED lighting. I am also new to Spektrum transmitters and receivers. I have had Graupner Hott equipment before. Therefore I have a question regarding the voltage tolerance of the LEDs. Do they get damaged if being powered with the full 8.4 volts from the Avian ESC or is there something like an additional linear drop out on the 8360T's auxiliary channel to reduce the voltage to like 5 volts to protect the LEDs? I ask because the LEDs don't have a resistor attached to them. I kindly like to thank you for your answers in advance. Greetings from Germany🇩🇪
Awesome plane. Wasn't expecting $850. I thought maybe 450-500. Its balsa and that ups the price alot. But damn. If you crash it thatll be the last time.
Hi Brian, you fly in Winter and I wonder how are LiPO-batteries affected by cold. I actually have the small Eachines with 3.7V 400mah 20C LiPo batteries and in Summer I get 10 minute flight now with temperatures around or slightly below 0°C, I get in average 2-3 minutes sometimes 5 minutes. The power drop significantly after that time and have to land. What is your opinion and recommandations?
are they really difference with the turbo timber evolution ? If you have already the evolution shall i need the SWS ? except the size, the wood and the price...
I love that it’s balsa and great quality but it’s the same plane, they always sell the same plane over and over and over. Horizon has one plane that I like right now and that is the F-16 80mm jet. Even the blade helis are gone unless you want a micro. Good flying though Brian.
Nice. Maybe horizon will introduce more balsa arf planes like the real nice flying Great planes models they used to have. Yes, balsa/plywood airplanes fly much better than foam models, and are easier to repair and do not alligator from sun exposure. Great video!
It does sound amazing! This is the 2nd plane in the Sport Wood Series... the Ultra Stick 1.1m was the first. Horizon also has their Hangar9 line which is also balsa, but this is Eflite which means it comes in a BNF configuration vs a PNP configuration from Hangar 9.
Nice review and nice plane Brian; I bought the omp bushmaster 2 months ago, now I want to buy this timber, but it seems like both are similar planes in terms of flight characteristics. What do you think they’re feel the same in the sticks or are diferentes planes….tnanks
I recently lost my Volerantix p51 (mini warbird) to the wind but I never struggled flying it. Im scared to use the Bigfoot as I recently bought it but I’m scared to fly it. I also ordered an arrows pioneer to replace the p51. So my main question is should I be scared to fly the Bigfoot/pioneer and will they be easier to fly?
I love the fact that it’s balsa. I have the orange carbon Z cub, which flies great, but it has absolutely zero tolerance to any hanger rash. How does this fly compared to that?
945.00 after tax and shipping for the BNF w safe, a little high not too bad considering the quality of it, I spend on average about 700 to 850 per ARF balsa plane to get them in the air. Basic non retractable 59" to 72" some with non retractable landing gear. Foam is a lot cheaper. People who aren't used to putting together balsa planes will get sticker shock
yeah, we thought so too...but we also were wrong on our price point...they lowered it a touch to $850 ;) Still so dang good! It'll be GOOD in 10 years too...unlike some foam planes - they just age better.
Hi brain you sent me a link on your last video and it is the right set however I’m not sure if it has the component I’m looking for. You can see a grey cylinder that goes onto the front nose gear on the left hand side and the component I’m looking for is the part that the cylinder slides into
Well time to sell my P.O.S. 1st Gen TT and get this upgraded version. I like that its wood and upgraded landing gear (FINALLY)!!! the 1st Gen landing gear was a very poor design. Sad that it took so long for E-flite to listen to the RC Community. Also, did they also solve the overheat problem like the first one??? I know there was a modification
There is no transmission - what are you talking about. The Motor is going one way, and switching directions quickly can cause the ESC to "misfire" (but I've not see it yet) or even cause damage to bearing, as I understand it.

#2 Again! Ohhh Crap, W@@Wzers, L@@K At All That Snow! It's Just Been Down To Frickin 8 Degrees Here For Last Week Butt Not Any Snow Luckily... VERY NICE TRUE STOL PLANE!!! 👍👍😜😜🤣🤣😁😎 PS STAY WARM Y'ALLS... 🥶🥶
I disagree with this model being over priced. This is a complete, BNF TurnKey large balsa airplane, that flies exceptionally well. It already has the motor, the ESC, the receiver, metal gear servos, (factory installed) and it's tuned with telemetry, flight stabilization and thrust reversal. I've owned Hangar 9 and other large balsa models, typically you would have to buy the bare, covered model and buy and install all of the electronics, motor and receiver, costing more than this beautiful, ready to fly large balsa sport aircraft. The price seems to me to be actually less are than if you built it yourself.
I have the PT19 and LOVE it. Definitely fly it on 6s. It is not STOL or as aerobatic as this. So if that’s your bag then go for the TT. If you don’t care about this, the PT19 is an incredible plane, bit smaller so easier to transport and cheaper.
outfitted NE1 2400MM with full electric Spektrum components with the big fatty big some bitch 5055-650kv drill baby drill electric power plant with a 100 amp twin esc with a honkin 7000 6s. power could 2 0f them. My first build and LOVE it
I want to pre-order but yeah I think I will wait for them to fix the initial release issues. If they sellout hard and fast I'm sure Horizon will run another production cycle.
Okay, I have no desire for this Timber, especially since they used the same color scheme as the 1.5 TT Evo. I'd rather get an Extreme Flight 84" Turbo Bushmaster if I'm asked to spend this kind of money. But this Sport Wood Series has me intrigued, because HH also released a video a couple weeks ago about the guy who designed the Riley Model B. I'm crossing my fingers that they might release that in a size close to 2m.
The Extreme Flight/Legacy Aviation 84” Bushmaster would be 2-3 times this price, all in, with gas engine my dude. My buddy has the 120” and he’s around 4-5 grand in. That is a hell of a plane tho. I would def recommend that, over this any day.
Got this plane in the bnf- paid 850 bucks. After the 5 flights the wing ripped off in flight totaling my plane. Horizon wants me to box up this massive plane and pay to ship it back to evaluate. Horizon is hoping I won’t go to the trouble of sending it back so they can be off the hook for a clear product defect. Buyer beware

Guys your the BEST!!!! Nobody does what you do, going into all the details, setup, and honest reviews! This looks like a super flyer.
Thanks! This is a great plane... it'd look extra nice in your hangar. :)
52:00 Camera Crew getting a little spicy on the mic 😂
Brian, you're a blessed man to have a wife who not only puts up with your hobby but actively supports it.
53:00 "Oh More?"....She is a keeper for sure! 👍
Yeah he's not getting lucky tonight
😂
Doesn’t matter what color or what size, turbo Timbers always look good
Filming and flying in the cold, you two are hardcore🫡🥶
yes ;) It hurts, but I love it still!!!!!
Big shout out for the camera crew for standing out there to film.
This was a tough one, but she's a trooper!

Really beautiful flying. Lead on!!
The camera person needs a really nice dinner and gift for her talent and perseverance. Great flight
Looks so cool with that snow back ground. Since I'm in FL near MacDill wwe don't get to see that.
It makes for pretty video, but not very fun to actually work in ;)
Yeah that's what they say. Snow is fun for vacation and Christmas. That's about it. Lol
Ooooooooh YEAH!
Sweeeeet plane and awesome camera work.
Cold? Yeah mucho coldo there for sure.
Flew over my snow covered farmers field earlier in the cold too...but no way as cold as you guys.

You guys are the bestest!
Nobody does RC enthusiasm like Brian Philips RC! Great team you got there guys!
Curious how brittle Monokote is when it is below 0 F out. I love building balsa models so to me $850 sounds cheap for a plane this big.
Sweet machine Brian. I can feel my skin burning from the cold just watching you. Are you going to build a hangar for all of your planes? Your basement has to be overflowing by now.

I was hoping floats, snowy take off and landings! That’s a big bird
Floats work really well on snow
Glide over footprints , other holes
You don't need to wait for your pond to be finished. Next snowfall, use the floats on your snow covered driveway before you plow it!
I've done it before, and it's fun, but our overall weather has been pretty terrible, not just snow. Finally, we'll have a nice week, (Heat-Wave at 34-36 F each day!!!) but then of course, I'll be super busy at work ;(

The very last one was BUTTER, even with frozen fingers!

Love the timbers I have the twin and the 1.5 For the two meters its just over $2000.00 here in New Zealand. love all your vids
Such a good looking a/c!
So cold and you guys endure the blizzards. I'm a wimp, can't fly in those temps.
If only there were somewhere warmer we could go... ;)
Looks really cool

Nice job Brian!

The sound of this plane is insane!
is this the first wooden plane from Horizon?
This will be an instant collectable model.

Let's see it fly with a set of skis on it
I was just searching for this ! Pre order
Nice! Hope you're loving it!
Should do floats for snow landings
From everything I’ve seen it’s the fact it’s like the 12 Timber now in the lineup. Something different in a balsa plane would have been cool.
Easier to fly than the $80 warbird*
I love the fact that it’s balsa. I have the orange carbon Z cub, which flies great, but it has absolutely zero tolerance to any hanger rash. How does this fly compared to that?
Not a great Pilot My Foot lol Your a darn good pilot, man its awesome!!!!
Eflite Modelle immer super 🙋♂️🇨🇭😄👍
I absolutely love my 1.5 but damn $$$$
945.00 after tax and shipping for the BNF w safe, a little high not too bad considering the quality of it, I spend on average about 700 to 850 per ARF balsa plane to get them in the air.
Basic non retractable 59" to 72" some with non retractable landing gear.
Foam is a lot cheaper. People who aren't used to putting together balsa planes will get sticker shock
yeah, we thought so too...but we also were wrong on our price point...they lowered it a touch to $850 ;)
Still so dang good! It'll be GOOD in 10 years too...unlike some foam planes - they just age better.
Great flyong
I may get one of these for birthday 😅
You will LOVE it. It's HUUUUUUUGE!!! Very good plane!
When does the first 4 stroke IC conversion happen
LOL - as soon as I get a few months freed up ;)
Hi brain you sent me a link on your last video and it is the right set however I’m not sure if it has the component I’m looking for.
I know there was a modification
hey Brian isn't why they don't want people to use thrust reverse , is because it's really hard on the transmission and the motor ?
There is no transmission - what are you talking about.
The Motor is going one way, and switching directions quickly can cause the ESC to "misfire" (but I've not see it yet) or even cause damage to bearing, as I understand it.
Great job as usual! I purchased a Ranger, a F86, and a J65( I won’t be flying this for some time) and the NX10. How can I be insured you got credit for my sale?
It s 28 June 2024 and these are available on the website.
This in ARF or the big H9 UltraStick ARF?
Does this come in a plug in play .So I can use another radio other then spectrum
You can get it as an ARF as well, but you might find it CHEAPER to buy the BNF, then just steal the Rx in there, for another application. Just a thought.
LET'S GO 🔥
Lovely well don horizon hobby
Love it!
That's a big NO at $850
I may as well buy a way less expensive Freewing AL-37 for around $500.00.😊
It's plywood/balsa , not foam for those wary about the price. You could also get the arf and add existing electronics if you have some laying around.
850$? Lol. Don't forget the batteries and charger 😂.
Still, balsa? That's a bold move for the Kings of Foam. Should be interesting.
Balsa mean difficult to repair or un repairable that’s why more expensive 😀. Tired of everything getting expensive
Agreed. Crazy expensive.
#2 Again! Ohhh Crap, W@@Wzers, L@@K At All That Snow! It's Just Been Down To Frickin 8 Degrees Here For Last Week Butt Not Any Snow Luckily... VERY NICE TRUE STOL PLANE!!! 👍👍😜😜🤣🤣😁😎 PS STAY WARM Y'ALLS... 🥶🥶
Im sold Big Guy, the wife is making me use my retirement funds fir it. She got a lil spicy onbthe mic with me too. 😂
AWESOME wonder how long till we get it here in Australia !
I'm fighting myself to not buy this lol😂 Awesome video!
Why fight it?!? :) If you preorder you can get a discount on a battery too... just sayin'...
Compared to the Draco which one do you like the best?
I disagree with this model being over priced. This is a complete, BNF TurnKey large balsa airplane, that flies exceptionally well. e-flite needs to make more scale military helicopters
From wood Nice 😮
$850 😳 Dang it should come with an automatic arse wiper for that price 😂
1:09 👀😂👀😂
Which one is SW1...The Hangar 9 PT-19?
I have the PT19 and LOVE it. Definitely fly it on 6s. It is not STOL or as aerobatic as this. So if that’s your bag then go for the TT. If you don’t care about this, the PT19 is an incredible plane, bit smaller so easier to transport and cheaper.
I want to buy one but i don't know how much cost in the Philippines
This thing took off in half a foot😂 awesome awesome plane but 850🤔😖
outfitted NE1 2400MM with full electric Spektrum components with the big fatty big some bitch 5055-650kv drill baby drill electric power plant with a 100 amp twin esc with a honkin 7000 6s. power could 2 0f them. My first build and LOVE it

a thumb up from this subscriber on your review....but I won't be buying one - with an out the door pricing pushing 1k count me out.
You should be on QVC
LOL - Give them a call, and I'll do RC for them ? - LOL (pretty sure that's Not what you meant - but still LOL)
@@BrianPhillipsRC your voice!
No snow plowing for us, we got 75 degrees and sunny weather everyday in Los Angeles. The trade off for the horrible government policies we deal with.
Lol. I'll take the bad weather ;)
would have liked a 1.2 balsa version around $279.99
Where can you buy it?
You can check it out here... bprc.me/Timber
Pricey. Go for the Draco instead. More robust landing gear for starters.
Draco’s are super heavy though 😅
Also Draco is foam, this is balsa.
@robc5296 balsa is the cheapest weakest wood out there. Not exactly a strong point for alot of ppl.one crash game over.
waiting on mine to come in
Hopefully you won't have to wait long! Sounds like this should be a quicker turnaround time.

Thanks Boss ;)
Thank you for pronouncing livery as 'livery.' There's another guy who says livery, which is just wrong... lol
