It doesn't get any better
A masterpiece of a Rock tune!
A classic
At that time I had the same age as Steve (17) and was the first time in England. The Spencer Davis Group
was. my favourite Band. Pete York, the Drummer, is married with a charming woman of my hometown and lives still in the most beautiful country of the world: Bavaria/Germany. More exactly: South of Munich near the Bavarian Mountains.
I always get a chuckle out of how SW sings "when I was just a little boy of seventeen," when that really was his actual age in this clip.
gotham61 And I had the same Age at that time and was the first time in England. The music of the Spencer Davis Group was like heaven for me. The Drummer Pete York is married with a charming woman from my town and lives now not so far away in the most beautiful place of the world: Southern Bavaria/Germany.
no it wasnt he was 19
@@jamesmarshall539 Somebody Help Me was released on March 18th 1966. Winwood was born May 12th 1948. So his 18th birthday was on May 12th 1966, eight weeks after this record was released.
Nice
It was not necessarily written with him in mind . . . he just sang it the way it was written.
i don't know about anybody else but i want whatever stevie winwood is taking to still look that young today.
This was the song that introduced us all to Stevie Winwood. What a voice and guitar, and organ and, and .......
Pppppppppppppppppp
a real classic by spencer davis group.
INCREDIBLE VOICE FROM SOMEONE SO YOUNG SOUNDING SO MUTURE.......STEVE WINWOOD
This is from a French TV show called 'Vient de Paraitre', broadcast 3rd May 1966.
What a great track - released in 1966 and became a number one hit in the UK Singles Chart. Like 'Keep on Running it was composed by Jackie Edwards.
Un tema increíble es de lo mejor, cuanta fuerza
+Lorraine Ashby Who I doubt got any royalties from it as Chris Blackwell was famous for not paying artists royalties. Wasn't only the Sue label that did that but alot of the old Ska/Reggae artists were ripped off.
Quite a composer, and singer, was Jackie Edwards. I Iiked his "Feel So Bad" particularly. Stevie Winwood's singing voice sounds like a black man's , so very suitable for this song, as well as "Keep On Running."
Whoa! I never saw this before, thanks for the upload. I've always wondered why they had two released versions, this one & the other one with organ/keyboard in it.
The theme song of The Royal.
Omg Steve was so young and cute!
Steve...so adorable!!!
Love it😍
made some great music 😎 thanks boys 😎
They used to play this on the Waltzer at Crimdon.
Such a great record, the pity being that it is a bit too short, at under two minutes.
original version of this song. later they re-issued one with Winwood playing his L103 organ and guitar. Love both versions. Stevie 's brother Muff on bass. Storey went Stevie could play in band if his older brother Muff was in it.
written by the awesome Wilfred Gerald Edwards AKA Jackie Edwards of Island Records
Steve winwood had the best voice from all those bands from the 60s
Great song. The sound quality is not. It sounds like the instruments are overpowering amplifiers with cheap 8 inch speakers. Spencer did this song later without Steve, and the sound quality was much better.
That video is also on youtube.
Was his brother's name really Muff? Sounds like a nickname to me.What was it ,really.Surely that is not what his parents legally had as his name.
Steve Winwood is one that should get more press than Crocodile Mick Jagger. At least he aged well.MJ did not.
sounds an awful like the equals, baby come back
dont talk bollocks nothing like it
