Just bought the book and I can't put it down. The 2nd chapter about the cultural fuse had me in tears, because I didn't know all of that, and it answered a question I always had about why Jesus showed up when He did, and affirmed my own experience that God has perfect timing. Dr. Tour asks such great and revealing questions which allow Mr. Wallace to expound and explain fully. This interview shows the beauty of two believers treating each other with great respect, the audience as well, and do Christianity proud.
Ultimately I like how Dr. Tour sits back and allows his guests to talk. So many modern hosts can't shut up for 5 seconds. What's the point of even having a guest? Just remember not to give what is Holy unto the dogs, or cast your pearls before the swine. When they don't accept you dust off your feet and move on. Some can not receive the seed. It is snatched away before it can ever take root. Discernment is key. Just like anything in life know when to walk away. Sometimes you need to pray for them more than you need to speak to them. @@derhafi : They taught me that there is a huge amount of historical evidence out there, both Christian and secular, that confirms the Bible narrative that Jesus was the son of God and rose from the dead. Also, I learned how complicated cells are and that they are actually tiny machines and no one has ever been able to duplicate one even with the best minds in the world and all the most expensive laboratory equipment and how impossible it would be for nature to create a living cell by chance and with no intelligent guidance behind it. And those are just the main points I learned.
@@derhafi : There is no flaw in logic. Suppose someone makes the claim that Spiderman exists and was last seen in New York. The way a real cold-case police detective (like J. Warner Wallace) would handle this case is to first search out some witnesses. Then, one at a time, he would question all the witness. He expects some of the witnesses to have a slightly different story, but he would sort out all the testimony that had similar claims. Then he would put all the claims that agreed together in a group. The more witnesses, the more valid the claims are. Why? Because large conspiracies are almost impossible to pull off. A conspiracy with two or three people is hard enough, and even they fail eventually after a period of time because people can not keep a secret for long. But if you have hundreds or even thousands of witnesses saying the same thing, or almost the same thing, then that is no conspiracy. That is right out of the police detective manual. So after that a real police detective would look at the motives of the witnesses. Are they doing it for money? Are they doing it for fame? He could threaten the witnesses with a large fine, or even jail time if they are lying. But if the witnesses are willing to go to jail rather than retract their testimony, then a police detective would consider them a reliable witness. And such it was with the witnesses that saw Jesus alive after he was crucified. Many were boiled in oil and fed to lions in an arena, but not one retracted his story according to the Roman historians of the time. Even the Emperor Nero marveled how these "Christians" would suffer the most terrible deaths rather than recant their belief in Jesus. A police detective today would conclude that these witnesses were reliable if they would submit their wives and children to death rather than deny the resurrection actually happened. You can learn more about how police detectives solve cold cases by reading J. Warner Wallace's new book, "Person of Interest." He also has many free RUclips videos and several other books on the subject, all available on Amazon. This is standard police work and he has solved hundreds of unsolvable cold cases this way. People have been convicted and sent to jail based on these principles. So before you say it is flawed logic, learn more about how the real police use that logic to bring people to justice. Fantastic fellows! A few things that James said stick out instantly; namely, his highlighting of Jim's incredible summation (which should be read to, and by, any young person on Earth), and the point about Christian cowardice in Universities (and, essentially, everywhere else). When Jim mentioned people's prideful tendency to argue that they've earned this or that, and that the bum hasn't earned anything (especially salvation), I was quickly reminded of Christ's parable in Matthew 20: 1-16. In this interesting story, we find a bunch of workers grumbling that they should receive more than the Johnny-Come-Latelies (those hired at the end of the day), because they had worked longer and endured more heat and hardship. My interpretation of this is that even those who accept Christ in the latter days will receive the same salvation as those who have walked with Him 50 or more years. Inspiring stuff, all the way around, my Brothers! I will walk more boldly from here on!

Ultimately I like how Dr. Tour sits back and allows his guests to talk. So many modern hosts can't shut up for 5 seconds. What's the point of even having a guest? As a platform to continue launching their own self. It's a telltale sign. Since Dr. Tour allowed Wallace to talk, I learned a whole lot. Very good session!
I don't read too much beyond the Bible anymore, but I am going to order J.W.'s book because of the compilation of historical facts; that I have more ammo to project at the target.
You will have no courage apart from your knowledge of Scripture. You must test all ideas of these speakers and their books by Scripture.
Maybe you should get your history from historians and not from a detective who pretends that his skills are in any way applicable to history.

Jesus had literally no effect on anything.
Pretty much jo one even noticed his existence in the entire first century.
But one of the cults that was loosely based on his teachings had huge influence after it gained political power a few centuries after Jesus died.
Just remember not to give what is Holy unto the dogs, or cast your pearls before the swine. When they don't accept you dust off your feet and move on.
Some can not receive the seed. It is snatched away before it can ever take root. Discernment is key. Just like anything in life know when to walk away.
Sometimes you need to pray for them more than you need to speak to them.
The gospel is more than an intellectual connection it must spring from the heart.

@@derhafi : They taught me that there is a huge amount of historical evidence out there, both Christian and secular, that confirms the Bible narrative that Jesus was the son of God and rose from the dead. Also, I learned how complicated cells are and that they are actually tiny machines and no one has ever been able to duplicate one even with the best minds in the world and all the most expensive laboratory equipment and how impossible it would be for nature to create a living cell by chance and with no intelligent guidance behind it. And those are just the main points I learned.
@@derhafi : There is no flaw in logic. Suppose someone makes the claim that Spiderman exists and was last seen in New York. The way a real cold-case police detective (like J. Warner Wallace) would handle this case is to first search out some witnesses. Then, one at a time, he would question all the witness. He expects some of the witnesses to have a slightly different story, but he would sort out all the testimony that had similar claims. Then he would put all the claims that agreed together in a group. The more witnesses, the more valid the claims are. Why? Because large conspiracies are almost impossible to pull off. A conspiracy with two or three people is hard enough, and even they fail eventually after a period of time because people can not keep a secret for long. But if you have hundreds or even thousands of witnesses saying the same thing, or almost the same thing, then that is no conspiracy. That is right out of the police detective manual.
So after that a real police detective would look at the motives of the witnesses. Are they doing it for money? Are they doing it for fame? He could threaten the witnesses with a large fine, or even jail time if they are lying. But if the witnesses are willing to go to jail rather than retract their testimony, then a police detective would consider them a reliable witness.
And such it was with the witnesses that saw Jesus alive after he was crucified. Many were boiled in oil and fed to lions in an arena, but not one retracted his story according to the Roman historians of the time. Even the Emperor Nero marveled how these "Christians" would suffer the most terrible deaths rather than recant their belief in Jesus. A police detective today would conclude that these witnesses were reliable if they would submit their wives and children to death rather than deny the resurrection actually happened.
You can learn more about how police detectives solve cold cases by reading J. Warner Wallace's new book, "Person of Interest." He also has many free RUclips videos and several other books on the subject, all available on Amazon. This is standard police work and he has solved hundreds of unsolvable cold cases this way. People have been convicted and sent to jail based on these principles. So before you say it is flawed logic, learn more about how the real police use that logic to bring people to justice. I will add a video below that tells you more about the process.

Fantastic fellows! A few things that James said stick out instantly; namely, his highlighting of Jim's incredible summation (which should be read to, and by, any young person on Earth), and the point about Christian cowardice in Universities (and, essentially, everywhere else). When Jim mentioned people's prideful tendency to argue that they've earned this or that, and that the bum hasn't earned anything (especially salvation), I was quickly reminded of Christ's parable in Matthew 20: 1-16. In this interesting story, we find a bunch of workers grumbling that they should receive more than the Johnny-Come-Latelies (those hired at the end of the day), because they had worked longer and endured more heat and hardship. My interpretation of this is that even those who accept Christ in the latter days will receive the same salvation as those who have walked with Him 50 or more years. Inspiring stuff, all the way around, my Brothers! I will walk more boldly from here on!
