Hi James, Yes you can. Just connect to computer via USB and use as desired. It's basically plug and play. - It will work alongside pretty much any DAW. We hope that this helps.
Hi there Micro, in short, yes - the Carbon will allow you to record both the analogue ins and the ADAT ins simultaneously. If you need any further questions answered, please feel free to get in contact with one of our sales team members, they will be more than happy to help: call us on 020 8208 9930 or email - sales@studiospares.com
Hey, Here is the system requirements document for the Pro Tool Carbon system! The information youre after can be found in here! avidtech.my.salesforce-sites.com/pkb/articles/compatibility/Carbon-Requirements
Hey there James, how's it going? Would you recommend the Carbon, and therefore the carbon system to connect a console like the Audient ASP4816HE? The Carbon is an interface I've been interested in for such a long time but I've got plans of getting a console sometime. Thank you in advance and great video!

Hi there, there are a few contributing factors including your computers performance, but in theory yes! Let us know if you need any more info sales@studiospares.com and one of the team will be happy to talk you through it.
I have a late Mac Mini 2018. No thunderbolt. I have to use a USB-C to Ethernet Adaptor for internet and use the Ethernet in on the Mac for the Carbon. I can not see the Carbon at all in any Mac settings. Should I? Can I? What’s the work around for an adaptor?
Hey Kiki, yes you can, and it works well with other DAWs. However, although Carbon works fine with other DAWs, you'll only get the benefit of its innovative hybrid technology with Pro Tools.
You make a great point and that info should have been included in this helpful video. Once the first year’s free subscription ends, you no longer get updates and are left with a mere 55 free, but rather limited, plug-ins (of which none appear to be compressors or limiters… wtf?). The only way to continue using the plugins you’re likely to have used during the first year is to renew (for example, PT ultimate is currently $799 per year and $399 if/when on sale). And forget about using 3rd party plug ins if you’re looking to take advantage of low latency using the hybrid engine. I don’t know of any 3rd party plugins that are AAX DSP so they will run natively slowing down your CPU (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). As usual it feels like Avid has musicians by the clams. If you’re not running a pro studio, you really need to ask if it’s worth it.
So you Can’t Have Internet and Carbon connected at the same time… WTF there is Always Something BS about DAWs. I’m going Back to Reel Analog Tape Decks. I give up.
looks and sounds appealing
It's a very interesting bit of kit. Are you a Pro Tools user?
@@StudiosparesTV yes I've been using protools for about 25 years
Once I have purchased this system for my recording studio can I compensate you to tutor me in setting it up?
If you contact the team on sales@studiospares.com they will be able to assist if you're having any issues setting up your Carbon

Is it Mac M1 compatible?
Yes the ProTools Carbon is M1 compatible with Big Sur 2021.6 and later.
Can you use this with the C24?
In theory yes, providing your C24 works with pro tools 12, which is what the carbon works with. - Also depends on computer operating system.

Do you have to be online to use the Carbon?
You can use the ProTools Carbon offline with an iLok. Hope this helps!
@@StudiosparesTV Thank you.
Can link 2 or more units?
Hi, the Carbon does not daisy chain with other devices (including other Carbon units), but it is expandable through ADAT! I hope that this helps.

Hi Matthew, apologise for the late reply, we have been out of office. What OS are you using and which version of Pro Tools?
Can I still use my Logic Pro X plug-ins, when mixing?
